    Sleeper:

Rob Chudzinski, take over at halftime if the offense isn't moving

I have to agree with this! All of the coaching staff needs to be put on alert! Better game planning (didn't game plan for sproles and McCoy and in week one J. Thomas?) Our linebackers need to step up too...can we get a coverage LB?

  2. It makes no sense to me to have a "point of emphasis" on the rules. Just teach the refs to be consistant in their calls across the board. Most of these rules have been in place forever. They have refs attending every teams training camps. This is where they should be teaching the players the rules, not during the games!

  3. I was impressed by the first and second teams on both sides of the ball. That being said I just wonder how the coaching staff can evaluate the third team when the offensive coodinator puts them in a bad position? The play calling in the 4th quarter was predictable and horrible! We should always be trying to close out games regardless whether its preseason or the regular season. JMHO

  4. I have went because its fun to see the new kids and to see how they will fit in for our team. As for talking with the players I have done that several times and have heard of others that do. Pat McAfee loves the attention so he will let you chew on his ear all day long. We got to talk to Luck his second year and we also have talked with Reggie for about 15 minutes and also Matt Overton let my girlfriend try on his helmet.

I enjoy taking photos of the players, printing them and taking them back with me to have them signed. I have Peyton, Reggie, Dallas, Pierre Garcon, Adam V and several more including Luck. That's what I like about goin to training camp!

  5. It just shows in a blink a deep WR group could look dangerously thin... same with any position group.  All teams suffer through it.  I was a Brown fan and always rooted for them to get him on the field more often as a few carries here and there didn't give him enough shots to break it open... but he's gone and was too expensive to keep.  But, to all those who are totally unconcerned because we have TR... keep in mind that if we bring anyone in, won't they be incapable of success because they didn't get a full Colt training camp?  I mean, if you buy the TR apologizers, then no one else could possibly come in and be workable after the final cut to 53 right? ... yeah.. whatever.

It took Brown 5 years to get the system down and your gonna throw TR under the bus so easily?

  6. Heres a link to the training camp schedule. http://www.colts.com/fanzone/events/coltscity.html

Get there early as there is always a line to get in. Keep in mind that NFL bag policy is in place. You don't wanna have to head back to the car. There is handicap seating and parking available and they always have golf carts to the practice field for handicap. I have a sister-in-law that is handicap and we have sat in the handicap seating but really didn't like it. It is on a tennis court in the end zone of the practice field separated by a fence so accessibility to the players is rough after practice unless you can talk the security staff into letting you sit in the VIP bleachers. They have a rope around the perimeter of the field and players will come to them after practice and sign if they are not expected in a meeting. Be very careful when near the rope after practice, it can be very dangerous there from the fans pushing their way in.

  7. I know a lot of people are asking why our defense is so bad and how can we give up so many points with a defensive-minded head coach.

However -- a lot of the points in the post-season should be put on the offense.

Against KC -- 2 TD's were on drives where KC moved the ball 18 yards or less (meaning, our defense was starting in the red zone), and 1 FG was when they started inside our 30 yard line.  That is 17 points that the O should be held more accountable for than our defense.  Then they had a 3 play, 79 yard TD drive which lasted 21 seconds.  That was the result of a big pass play, and it wasn't really like KC pounded the ball down our throat.  Granted the D shouldn't be giving up big plays at all, but it worries me less when I see something like that then when I see a drive that took several minutes off the clock b/c they were pounding us.  KC had 3 of those drives for TD's and 1 of those kind of drives where we held them to a field goal.

If you look at the long drives that lead to points alone, KC would have had 24 points, which would be almost 3 points below their season average.  Take away that big play and our D did not play that poorly vs. a very high rated offense.

In NE -- 2 TD's were the result of them starting off in our redzone.  Take these points off the board and we would have held them to 28 or 29 points (their season average was 27.8 points).   Then we gave up the 1 play, 73 yard running TD drive.  Take that off the board and they'd have had 21 points, which would be well below their season average.  They only had 3 scoring drives where they really outplayed our offense.  Had we not turned the ball over as much as we did, some of these drives may not have happened.

Anyway, my point is -- the D wasn't as bad as the score board suggested in the playoffs.  A lot of blame goes to the O for turning the ball over in bad position (not that any turnover is a good position, but I don't think we can chalk blame to the D at all when we give the ball away inside our own 30 yard line -- which accounted for 31 points out of 87, or 36% of the points given up in the playoffs -- if you really think about it, 1/3 of the points given up due to our offense is terrible).

I think the majority of our mistakes are fixable with review of the tape and if we minimize the big plays, our D will be just fine next year.  There is always room for improvement, but I don't think we need to go calling for anyone's head at this point -- if we get some guys back healthy, if our young players continue to improve and if we add a key piece or 2 to the puzzle, we are not as bad as everyone is making it out to be.

Why would you take away a 73 yard touchdown run by the Pats? We should never allow a running back a 73 yard run...That is the main point of everyone saying our defense is horrible! There is way too many times that we don't get off the field on D on 3rd down. We have let too many teams do that to us all season. Our D line gets blown off the ball more often than not. When we do tackle them we are either letting them get 3 or more yards after initial contact. Someone said that we let the opposing QBs perform like elite QBs and also opposing RBs.

  8. I have been to quite a few away games and never really had a bad experience. Stadiums I have been to are Tennessee, Cincinnati, Detroit, Tampa Bay, St. Louis, Green Bay, San Francisco and Kansas City. We always have a fun time with the friendly banter and no one has really gotten outta hand. You just have to go in there with a fun frame of mind. Ignore the *s and always remember its just a game and most if not all stadiums have a number you can text if you feel someone is getting outta hand. I try not to sit in the upper levels of away games coz that's where most of the trouble is. Maybe people spent too much on their alcohol and couldn't get better seats.

  9. Sometimes the offense puts the defense in a bad position as in the NE game. The defense put the offense in a bad position as in the KC game...its a push. Both sides of the ball needs to dramatically improve this offseason. I also think we need a new strength coach, both sides of the line are getting blown off the ball.

  10. I would just like to see the refs being more consistant. If they call one thing on one team they should also call it on the other when it happens. All the taunting the Patriots did went to the blind eyes of the refs. One ref had to pull Blount away 15 yards down the field. Edelman ran 10 yards from out of bounds to taunt us later. The NFL needs full-time refs and they need to fine them on obvious bad or non calls. Refs are there to enforce the rules and should not affect the outcome of the games.

  11. Even taking all of that into account, he would have had 5 days to learn whatever plays he will be in, not to mention the language of the offense, getting the game plan down, etc.  I'm not saying that the signing makes no sense, but its' hard to see how he will make much of a contribution.  That being said, I think it'd be hilarious in the unlikely event that he rips off 125 yards and 2 TDs.  Would be a nice little piece of ammo to rub in the faces of Pats fans that scoffed at the signing as if we signed Branch for "intel."

It would be even better with that happening and Vinatieri kicks the game winning FG!!!! Ouch!

  12. I'm not denying that TY Hilton is talented, but Andy Reid isn't the shrewd mastermind that Bill Belichick is. The Grey Hoodie always neutralizes your best offensive weapon i.e. TY Hilton in our case.

Regarding Denver specifically Peyton & John,  "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Manning & Fox learn from their previous mistakes & they won't get burned by Mathis & INDY's defense again. Why? Peyton is like a machine or cyborg robot with a photographic memory.  Just because we beat him once, don't expect an encore performance with identical results.

You may find what I said funny, but I'm not laughing. KC looks like child's play compared to the next round. Don't kid yourself imacoltsfan.

you mentioned that Harrison said Bellyache will double TY all night. I was just saying that TY has the ability to blow the top off of double coverage. I don't ever expect to have an easy game against the Pats but I believe that if anyone can knock them off it could be us.

It's also a known fact that Peyton has a horrible time against the 3-4 defense so if he is a cyborg robot the Broncos should reprogram him for the next couple of games!

  13. What worries me is that whether we face Denver or NE John Fox or Bill Belichick will take TY Hilton away. Can Fleener & or other weapons step up in his absence & pick up the slack? That's the real question.

Rodney Harrison said this after the game on NBC or inferred it & he is exactly right. If TY is doubled teamed next week, Can we still mount a viable arsenal WR or TE for Luck to throw too? I hope so, but I'd be lying if I didn't say this troubled me a little bit. I can't lie.

If you forced me to pick the weapon other than TY Hilton that I would want to be the next go to guy, I rooting for Whalen. I like that kid a lot. He's due for a breakout Playoff game anyway.

That's funny! I thought I seen TY beat 2 defenders in this game! Correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe I am!

  14. I already have tickets to the game but still interested to see if the game will be blacked out. I just clicked the link to purchase tickets on Colts.com to ticketmaster and it says tickets are unavailable for this event. Does that mean it is sold out or just a glitch in ticketmaster's website?

  15. Don't forget the Niners game IN SF...that was also a 4 quarter completely played game as well. I don't know what the poster was talking about when that comment was made.

I'll never forget that game! I was there! Traveled from Evansville to San Francisco. Had to hit the stick before it was gone!

  16. Look, Colts played AWFUL in the first half and part of the 3rd...but I stayed up and watched the game.  Why?  Because I believe this team can pull out any game...no matter the odds.  So before you criticize the fanbase for "not believing" in this team, remember, we don't give up on the team and continue to watch the game.  Many of us were PO'd in how bad we started this game.  And who wasn't?  If we expect to make any noise in the playoffs, we're going to have to play like we did in the 4th quarter, but for all 4 quarters.  I love this team.  But I don't love how we have yet to play a complete game against a winning franchise.  There's nothing wrong with feeling that way when you expect better out of a team that you want to call a superbowl contender.  We're pulling wins out of our a**...that's a step in the right direction.  But it's not a superbowl formula.  Got to prove we belong in the playoffs...and playing for less than 4 quarters isn't proving we belong...Got some improving to do.

Haven't played a complete game against a winning franchise??? Did you miss the Broncos game?
