An old Romo and Witten, no Dez or Murray. Sounds like a Jerry Jones plan to me.
No, breaking the bank on a WR and an injury prone RB is a Jerry Jones plan.
-
Isn't the purpose of first round picks to get players like Dez?
Is the objection to the contract, or is it to giving Dez a bunch of guaranteed money?
The reason I'm not super ready to give Dez a $100m contract is because Romo and Tyron already have $100m contracts, and eventually we'll have to resign our young OLinemen.
We can also use the money saved to improve the defense and sign a player like Hardy.
-
Are you accepting offers on the Cowboys' behalf?
Yes, I'm actually Jerry Jones.
-
Do you not want Dez?
I love Dez but I also like 1st round picks and not giving Dez a huge contract.
If a garbage team like Oakland offered two 1st rounders, I would be all over that.
-
I'm a Cowboys fan just here to say Dez may be available for two 1st round picks.
-
Demarco Murray is an all around great back. Great in pass pro, great blocker, hardly ever loses yardage. The only thing he does not have is breakaway speed.
If he bursts through the secondary, he'll make it about 20 yards and someone will catch up to him.

My Cowboys woke your team up

Looking forward to this matchup.

Mariota >> Winston in my opinion. Then again, I've watched more games with the former.
Love me some Mariota. I think his talent translates into the NFL just fine.
-
I highly, highly doubt it.
Lack of good DEs will be the death of the Cowboys.
-
But I don't see that fire in his eyes that I believe is necessary for championship QB's without a top 5 defense
Tony Romo has played with fractured bones in his spine this season.
He gets a pain injection before every game so that he can play. Not a little shot in the arm, either. It's very detrimental to his long term health.
He wants it more than anyone.
-
Let's go over some of those big games he has won in this year then shall we?
Big game #1. Game against the Saints, we had been totally embarrassed last season by them and had something to prove and we destroyed them. Big game #2 Seattle Seahawks @ Seattle. Only 1 team has beaten them at home in 3 years before us. We cooked the birds very good and shocked the entire NFL. Big game #3 Philly @ Philly. 38-27. Need I say more? How about showing me a complete choke by Romo so we can compare?
Giants game was as beautiful of a GWD you'll ever see.
-
I do think Romo is a good QB, but I can't say there isn't a bit of truth to the choker thing until he proves differently.
Tony Romo leads the NFL in 4th qtr comebacks since in 2006 (starting year), with 27, including 4 this year.
Consecutive years either in the playoffs or right at the end of the year at a time like this weekend when the game is on the line and the Boys are counting on Romo to pull the thing out it always tends to end in some kind of turnover by him.
That's the problem right there.
He's proven he can win ball games with a game winning drive. He's done it a lot. But it comes down to that situation far, far too often.
He can do one of two things - execute or fail. And when you are in the 4th with 50 seconds left down by five, the chances of failing skyrocket.
For the record, over the past two years, Romo has one "choke" (if you choose to call it that; I do not) vs the Broncos (506 yards, 5 TDs, 1 INT) to go along with 8 4th qtr comebacks.
-
...... Has he ever won a playoff game? Everytime y'all have that season showdown to get into the playoffs he chokes
Yes, 2009 vs Eagles.
That's also the last time he had a Top-10 defense. Surely that is a coincidence though, right?
-
He's "never" been the problem? Never never never never been the problem?
Nope.
Has he had down games? Sure. Has he thrown untimely picks? I suppose so. Like every QB has.
But this thing where people call Romo a "choker" and say he cannot succeed in big games is lol worthy.
-
Remember Romo vs the Broncos last year? I sure do. Tony throws a beautiful pick to end the game in defeat.
Are you blaming a L in which Romo threw 5 TDs on Romo?
lol
I've been a hardcore fan of the Cowboys for my entire life, and I can assure you that Tony Romo has never been a problem in Dallas.
-
Something tells me that we will win. I just think all the pressure is on Dallas and Tony Romo. We all know how that's panned out over the years.
-
Best stadium and art exhibit in the NFL. The Wal-Mart across the street is pretty sweet, too. Jerry-Mart.
-
I think you guys have some major misconceptions about our team.
Tony Romo, for one thing, does not force the ball to Dez like Stafford does to Megatron. Tony Romo is 4,000x the QB Stafford is.
Go ahead, stack the box to stop Murray like literally everyone we've played this year has. It hasn't worked too well. If you do, get burned by Dez, Witten, Williams and Beasley.
-
The underwear thief? He gonna "steal" the show Sunday? *rimshot*
lol, yeah. He's actually a good RB, but the coaches don't trust him in pass pro. He's a lot quicker and shiftier than Murray, though.
He used those jukes and stuff to get away from the Dillards security guards.
-
But the difference between those teams is the Cowboys D is a game managing Defense. The Browns & Texans RELY on their Defense's
Cowboys just gotta do enough to get their offense the ball, they'll do the rest. And it helps that their game is shortened by the long drives the offense puts together thanks to the NFL leading rusher & that offensive line that continuous 8-8 seasons and good scouting got them
With our O-LOB (offensive line of boom), a healthy dose of Randle and Dunbar should be fine. They'll keep Murray in on passing downs and give him 20 carries or so.
-
The Cowboys have just stated that Murray will indeed play Sunday.
-
Randall averages 7.0 yards per carry. Murray 5.0. That's NOT to say Randall is better -- he's not. It's only to say he's good and a quality back-up.
Randall is quicker and shiftier than Murray, but he doesn't run with as much power and he's not nearly as good in pass protection.
-
They really don't have much on offense outside of Dez Bryant, and maybe Witten.
And that Romo guy. And that guy who's the NFL's leading rusher by 409 yards.
Anyway, I've watched a lot of Colts games this year and I'm excited about this matchup. I love the way Davis has played.

Johnson and Cobb make the most sense, and Dez could be available for 2 1st round picks.
Deep WR draft this year so he shouldn't be hard to replace.
