They should be looking for a CB that can play outside. We only have 3 on the roster Davis Robinson and Brown. Davis is the only on to play consistently at a high level.

Robinson has been wildly inconsistent going back to his time at FSU. There are many that believe he is better suited to play in the slot. Maybe he can flip the switch like Vontae.

If Robinson becomes a solid #2 we still have nothing behind him. I think rolling the dice on a day 2 talent like the kid from LSU Robinson makes more sense than Morrison. His body couldn't  hold up in college. He's had 2 knee surgeries  What's his ceiling ? A 2 down LB boy those are tough to come by. Robinson from LSU has the length, athelitism and instincts to be great press corner.

What about D'Joun Smith, last years third round pick? He was supposed to be an immediate contributor until he got hurt.

  2. I think Gurley in the 4th is unrealistic. Even with the injury I think someone will take him in the second, maybe even the late first. I would like either La'el Collins, Trae Waynes or Marcus Peters in round 1, and I think we could get Nelson Agholor/Sammie Coates and Mike Davis/Duke Johnson in rounds 2 3 or 4, with Cody Prewitt in one of those rounds as well. I think it could be a really good draft for us, especially if we're able to get Collins to start at RG and evetually move to RT.

  3. If we had pick 2 I bet we would keep Peyton and trade down for Mo Claiborne or something. Maybe we would have drafted Trent Richardson (lol). Dodged a bullet there.

Dodged 2 bullets really. I (and many others) would make the argument that Claiborne has been a bigger bust than Richardson so far.

  4. Here's a stat and a reality.  I know the delusional little fanboys here will probably ignore it but anyone that is looking at all realistically at this team will appreciate it...

Only 23 teams out of 198 have advanced to the postseason (11.6 percent) when starting 0-2 since 1990, according to Fox Sports.

I know the people that refuse to see this team objectively will just ignore the facts but hopefully this provides some clarity to the ones that are assessing this team's playoff hopes objectively.

Very rarely does a team play 2 of the best 7-8 teams in the league their first two weeks. One of the losses is attributed to the refs. Of those 88.4% of teams that don't make the playoffs, I bet you at least 75% of them are searching for a QB, pick in the top 5 of the draft every year, etc. Also of those 88.4%, I bet that at least 95% of them didn't have losses to two playoff teams.

  5. y'all all need to chill.... like seriously..... we could've very easily won this week and last week. Against 2 very good teams. Honestly, probably the best 2 teams we'll play all year. If it was jackosnville and cleveland I'd be concerned but some of you guys absolutely blow my mind

  6. I'm looking at Tre Jackson, Cedric Reed, Jalen Mills, Cody Prewitt, and a couple other corners and safeties for the colts. If Thronton or Mewhort have a bad year I could see us going guard again in round 1. If not, I could see us going either safety or OLB/DL in round one and two. I think it's going to be a good draft for all the positions we need (CB/S, OL, OLB). Could find first year starters in each of the first three rounds.

  7. I really think we should pick him up. He is extremely fast and quick, averaged over 7 ypc last year at Baylor. He could replace Tipton on the roster, as we don't really have a true change of pace back like Brown was last year for us, and I feel like Seastrunk could be a better version of what Brown did for us last year. We know Tipton isn't going to play much of a role anyways. Anyone else agree/disagree?

  8. He's a game manager. Not a top 10, even 15 QB and way overpaid. He is very easily replaceable. Anyone who can throw a screen pass or a slant or hand the ball of to Charles can start for them. They have talent on the roster but will never win a SB with smith. If you switch him and Luck, KC probably wins 2-3 SB in next 5 years and Colts probably don't make the playoffs(only way they would is bc AFC south is so bad).

  9. No..... Just.. No. Dalton is mid-tier. Along with Flacco (idc if he won a SB that was ridiculous, just like Eli's 2). But at the same time, it's hard to move on to a new QB, because you could draft 5 QBs in the first round and none of them turn out to be starter quality. To get a star QB, you either have to suck in a year where there's a really special player in the draft, or you have to get lucky on a guy. It's very very hard to attain a star QB and we are very lucky to have one. Some teams spend a decade+ just looking for a guy who can be as good as Dalton, which again, is not that good.

  10. I would do it if was for a fourth or better. I understand what you guys are saying that we need a good backup, but I think a high-mid round pick is more valuable than an old backup QB with just a few years left, if that. If Luck gets hurt we aren't going to win the SB anyways, probably not even a playoff game. If we aren't going to win a playoff game I'd rather have a high draft pick with Luck returning than an old QB who will get us 7-8 wins and a draft pick around 14-18. Sure it'd be tough to get through a season with Harnish at the helm, but it'd be worth it in 2015 with a stud O lineman, pass rusher or safety that we draft. Now, all that being said, the chances that a deal gets done are very very slim, and even if one does get done, the chances of Luck getting hurt are also extremely slim, so this discussion is almost irrelevant lol.

  11. Yeah, I knew once I picked Lacy he'd be my workhorse. I'm gonna be keeping an eye on Gerhart, Devonta Freeman, and (obviously) Trent Richardson. Hopefully they're production will either be good enough to put in the 2 spot consistently, or at least make me able to package one of them in a trade for someone better.

Freeman has some potential, especially with Steven Jackson being so old and having so many carries over his career. If he gets injured/benched, Freeman could have a big year in that offense. Freeman, TRich, and Gerhart are all risk/reward, but if just one of them works out for you and Lacy stays healthy you should be fine. Great receiving core though. Don't know how you got Jones and Green.

  12. You are somewhat weak at RB, and are pretty much relying on Lacy. I usually try to get 3-4 good RBs, just because there's so many injuries and busts at that position. That being said, if Richardson has a good year(I think he will) and Lacy stays healthy, you'll be fine. Everything else looks great. Top 5 QB, 2 top 10 WRs barring injury, good TE. Good team overall.

  13. I just rewatched all the plays that the first team offense ran, and it broke down like this: when we used 7-8 blockers, including a fullback, Richardson had 6 carries for 10 yards. One of those carries went for 5 yards, and we ran it to the weak side(only 3 blockers on the side he ran to). When we used less than seven blockers, he had 3 carries for 14 yards. When we try to play smashmouth football and run it down their throats, it just doesn't work. Not saying our line is terrible, they're just not good enough to be able to play smashmouth the way Pep wants. When we give TRich the ball in space out of the shotgun or pistol or the I-formation with no FB and 3+ WRs/TEs outside, he's successful. I know Pep realizes this(he has to bc its so obvious), but it's just stuck in his head that we HAVE to be a power running team, and we just can't do it. Not yet anyways. I hope we get away from the 21 and 22 personnel this year. I really think TRich has some potential (I know this is not a popular opinion lol) but I think if we run out of 11 and 12 personnel he will have success. Again, I know almost no one agrees with on that, just my opinion.

  14. I was actually pretty encouraged by Richardson. I know his YPC was less than 3, but he had like 4 good runs that all made him look decisive and elusive. His balance and ability to make someone miss in the open field is amazing IMO. He does need to get better at hitting holes, but that will come when the starting 5 lineman are all back together. Just my opinion.

  15. Play calling and O-line, but mostly play calling IMO. It's so so obvious when we are going to run... There's like 7 guys on the line, and a fullback, which is a formation that I haven't seen us pass out of very much at all. In my opinion, we should try running some out of the shotgun w/5-6 lineman and no fullback, and similar formations. As for the o-line, we were missing 2 starters tonight, so that's my excuse for that.

And from rewatching the first team offense, when we ran out of pistol/shotgun, Trent had 2 carries for 13 yards. I may have missed a run or 2 but there was certainly more room to work with out of those formations than with the I-formations with 7 guys on the line and a fullback. It's just way too predictable. It never worked last year and it won't work this year. We should just get those plays out of the playbook or only use them inside the 5. JMO

  16. We're talking about a guy who was a projected 1st round pick this time last year. He has talent, you just have to get it out of him. Our coaching staff probably has something to do with getting the best out of him, and the money that waits for him on the 53 probably doesn't hurt either lol....

Going undrafted might have been a wake up call as well. He probably thought he was all that this time last year, gonna be a first round pick and a millionare. Maybe going undrafted made him realize he has to work a little harder to live up to that potential.
