  1. Yea 1st round is a stretch although I don't know if I'd necessarily be that disappointed in him.  I really think he can play SS and play up around the line of scrimmage most of the time.  Most of the time he is going to match up with TEs and RBs or play some underneath zone.  The deep zone will be left for the FS spot.  That being said if I drafted him I would probably use another pick on a safety as well which could be difficult looking at the depth in this draft class.

I can really see the Colts trading back out of the 1st round if none of their main targets fall to them (Collins will be gone.. Kendricks probably too.. Edge rushers probably gone.. maybe not Harold but he may not be 1st round talent either).  I feel like most of the guys we are wanting are either out of our reach or 2nd round picks.  Maybe trading back to early-mid 2nd round and using both 2nd round picks on an ILB, S, DL, or EDGE player combination and getting another draft pick would be a nice move.

  2. No, we don't need a a TE But if there's a chance to get a project player in the 5th round that could maybe be a playmaker like Graham it's worth it, the Seahawks gave up a pro bowl center and a 1st RD.pick for him. You know low risk high reward. A player with his size that ran a 4.46 40!

And some think he can be the steal of the draft.

As far as maybe not being that good or wouldn't be there in the 4th or 5th? How many times have we heard Brady being drafted in the 6th!Lol.

Maybe he will never convert successfully to a TE or even a decent receiver BUT the only thing you have to lose on him is a lowly 5th RD pick, that's if he is still there in the 5th.

We aren't going to find a Graham or Gronkowski in the 5th round.. and we already have Swoope as a project player at TE.

There are much more pressing needs on this team.  Particularly depth all over the defensive side of the football.  You make it sound like a 5th round pick is worthless and we should just gamble it away.

  3. Since Reggie is still recovering from injury I'd highly doubt he gets picked up very soon.  He is gonna have to prove that he can still play (possibly go to some try-outs).  I mean we all saw how much he regressed last year.  With that tricep injury he could barely catch the ball at times.   I'd say no way he comes back to the Colts at this point.  After they went and publicly said that he won't return, he won't be coming back.  No matter how thin we get at the position.

  4. Wilfork and/or a S would be nice.

We don't have any money left for the FA. We're 7.7 million under the cap as of now, I don't think we will make any major signing.

We have money that rolls over from last year so I believe its closer to 15 million.

I don't think we make another impact FA signing really (i.e. any of the guys on the first comment).  If anything we will add some depth at the secondary position, particularly at Safety but we do need another CB or two after Davis, Toler, Butler. I'm pretty worried about Safety at this point.  I'm not sure who the Colts are gonna go after because it doesn't seem likely we land Collins.  There has to be a diamond in the rough that they are seeing as a starter.  Maybe Eric Rowe (Utah)?  Colts like dynamic guys and this guy has played plenty of S and CB.

  5. I really think the Colts need to take a Defensive Playmaker with the first pick.  If somehow Landon Collins or Vic Beasley fell I'd be pretty happy, but probably not going to happen.  I wouldn't be surprised if they moved down and got an extra second round pick while trading away the first and picked up an ILB and a S there.  I think Cody Prewitt is a pretty feasible 2nd round target that can come in and be solid right from the get go.

  6. We do need a WR no doubt.. I have a feeling they wait for the later rounds to get one though since the real "big name" guys are gonna be gone before us or not really a fit anyways.

Thoughts on letting Landry and Pollard slip away for Free Agency and possibly taking Matt Elam with our #1 pick?  Hard hitting, run stopping SS that durability has never been a question with.  I think he could improve our DB's for a lot cheaper than the veteran options.
