  1. This guy is already on the wrong track, not being able to figure out how to keep and utilize the greatness that was already on the team while blending in the new talent that opportunity presented to his new team. He and Irsay should make a great pair. It's going to be a long season.

  2. Way to go "D"- it's about dang time the Coaches turned you guys loose. A few more overload blitz packages that "Big Bum" can't handle(see how rattled he got with just the "Front 4 Boys" pressuring him), and the Special Teams not letting the Team down at the end, AGAIN, and this would have been a big win. Even the Secondary was hitting AND tackling alot more consistently, although they still missed too many early on in the game. This is how THIS TEAM CAN PLAY "D" if allowed by the Coaches. THIS DEFENSE HAS ALWAYS HAD THE TALENT- THIS "D" ALWAYS PUTS FORTH THE EFFORT- THE COACHES HAVE KEPT THESE GUYS FROM THEIR POTENTIAL BY STICKING WITH THE SOFT TAMPA 2 ZONE DEFENSE. The Coaches can't let one guy- Mike Wallace- beat you because you don't jam him or cover man to man, and the Coaches only rush 4, which gives even a mediocre QB like "Big Bum", enough time to find him. If this "D" is allowed to keep playing like this, and we can fix Special Teams, and just get journeyman efforts from Collins or Painter then Peyton can rest easy this season and not worry about coming back this year, and this team can still win ball games. Nevis and the rest of the new guys on "D" did a heckuva job and can be proud- and we can be excited about going forward, with or without Peyton.

  3. time for the defense to man and help us get this done this year. they need show everybody they are not the same old colts defense.....

The Colts' D has got the the talent-it's time for the Colts' D Coordinator and Coaches to turn 'em loose. The Colts had the Packers beat in Preseason and then got even more conservative on D than their usual soft Cover 2 and let the Pack's 3rd String QB come back to beat them(after not being ready for an on-side kick AGAIN!). The D has got to be aggressive and proactive and force turnovers and TACKLE. Last night the Saints could've won that game if their D Coordinator Williams hadn't backed off the pressure cause his DB's WERE MISSING TACKLES! That KO Return shouldn't have happened and there were at least a dozen other critical situations where the D just let down. Our guys have to be let off the chain to disrupt the Texan's and everybody else's QB & Offense. Get mean, get aggressive and get used to it. Let the Colts' D become a D to be feared and not taken for granted as a D you can dink and dunk and run on to keep the Colts' O off the field. With Peyton out, the Colts are not in Kansas anymore. Why not have something new for 'em to think about. Give Kerry good field position and then when Peyton gets back watch out.

  4. i agree with you about our coach but please dont call colts fans colt haters because we talk about a position that we think needs improvement. we all want the colts to win and we like our team.

You are not a hater because you expect someone who is supposed to be a professional to put forth their best effort. The Colts' Coaches, particularly Coach Croyer and this lame, soft, no blitz, no-pressure Tampa 2 D and Coach "On-side" Caldwell who consistently misuses time-outs and is seems asleep at the switch during crucial points of the game, are not serving either their players or their fans, very well. Preseason or not, the Packers are the NFL Champs and although the Colt players outplayed them, the Colts' coaches were out-coached, and the Pack won. We hate losing, and we hate it even worse because of stupidity, we don't hate the Colts.

  5. You are not a Colts hater if, as a long-time(50+ years) fan of football and great teams, and you see obvious deficiencies and faults and get frustrated when they are repeated over and over. The Colts dependence on this soft non-aggressive Tampa 2 defense has prevented the Colts from having multiple SB rings during a time when they have had the greatest QB in NFL history. Freeney & Mathis must be really frustrated that they have to carry the D with little help from any blitz packages and countless missed arm tackles from the Colts secondary. The Tampa 2 as coached by Croyer & Caldwell is more like a "Prevent Defense" that only prevents the Colts from winning the "Big" games against the good QB's in the league- like Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Vick, etc. Can anyone be a fan of Coaches that allow a 4th and 8 conversion for a 1st down that leads to a score in the 1st half? Yes its preseason, but those of us that have been around for awhile and respect the talent and effort of future Hall-of-Famers like Freeney are not fans of seeing their efforts come to naught by being misused by lame coaching philosophies and being asleep at the switch during a game (preseason or not), when you are supposed to be "in charge" of calling the shots. How did Coach "On-side" Caldwell not know an on-side kick was coming( after a successful 2-point play), when everybody(old enough to be out of diapers) in this country that was watching this game, knew the Pack was kicking it on-side? You'd think by being embarassed in the SB by the Saints doing this, any self-respecting Coach with any pride, would make sure it never happened again. As far as cutting Caldwell some slack he was 14-2 with a team that he didn't build- Dungy did, with an Offense run by Coach Moore and he got out-coached in the SB and every important game since. Since Irsay & Polian seem satisfied with mediocre coaching, I guess we'll have to put up with it- but we don't have to like it and that doesn't makes us less of a fan than someone that is willing to accept less than someone's best effort. Pre-season or not, the Pack are the defending NFL Champs and the Colts should have beaten them
