Most IMPORTANT Pre-season game is next...

The 3rd preseason game is traditionally when teams start scheming for your offense and everyones 1st teamers play most of the game. I expect Luck will do just fine, but this is the first true game that BOTH teams will have a game plan for eachother should be fun to watch. (Besides it is 2 young future star QB's playing..lol)

I'm not worried about the offense so much as the defense. So far the Colts defense has had it's way ups and it's way downs. We've had 5 sacks and 2 Interceptions. If we can keep those stats rolling, I think we should be just fine. We have to contain Garcon. That is the objective next week. Watch for bootlegs and screens.

I think this game is being over-hyped and that the Redskins are going to be very disappointed with the outcome, but I'm still excited to watch it and see us progress.

LOL I am just talking about the prep the teams put in for eachother. Be the first time BOTH QB's have a team preparing for them, be interesting see how both do.

Oh I agree, I wasn't really referring to your post with that statement. In general that's all I've heard from local and national media is Luck vs. RGIII and this preseason showdown. It'll be interesting to see how our D contains RGIII

I think this game is over-dimensioned.

Yeah, top 2 QB picks are face to face already in the preseason, but not this game would decide who is better Luck or RGIII, upcoming games, seasons, overall stats and SBs won will tell who is better.

So this will be an other preseason game, which contributes to building chemistry, confidence and helps gain experience.

Not to mention, that Skins' D-line is a ready product, whilst our D is just taking its shape right now.

For more, Luck will be playing about 25 plays again I think, so he likely wont pass over 300.

Still I hope, we will defeat them, but not this game will indicate whether Luck or RGIII is better prospect.

Go Colts!

I predict Garcon will get into a fight or at the very least he'll talk trash and get in someone's face. He'll come out with something to prove.

I really like what we've seen from our offense the past two games. I think we'll be tough to stop. So far, this preseason has been the most exciting preseason since.... I can't remember.

I know everyone was anxious to see how the Colts fared against the "vaunted Steeler D", but I'm with you, I think the Washington game will tell us much more about this team.

I usualy hate pre-season games. The first qtr and half are OK but once the starters are pulled it is usualy like the Keystone Cops LOL. But this Colts team has a lot of quality young guys fighting for roster spots and several of them have impressed me greatly. There are some VERY HARD decisions ahead for Pagano, Grigson and the rest of the coaching staff. We are going to have a very hungry and exciting young team to watch this year. I feel a lot of gray hair coming though :)

I don't really care for this Game. Simply because the "Experts" are going to over-hype this. Then whichever team wins the game, they're going to start being dumb and saying one QB is better than the other. Failing to realize it takes a TEAM to win a game, not a QB. Football is a team sport.

Ex: Packers. A. Rodgers is good, but when you got the Worst defense, you're bound to pay for it.

Anyway, I'll just be watching this game to see who's chances of making the final roster are increasing or decreasing. But I'll be going to buy some earplugs this week from home depot or something. Cause I live in VA. So if the Redskins do win it, I'll never hear the end of it. Everyone know how serious the Redskin fans take the pre-season. they treat it like it's a super bowl :sigh:

Yeah I hear you, I live in VA also. I'm going to the game so I'm sure I will hear tons of garbage for atleast I will until kickoff. Did anybody watch the Redskins game against the Bears Saturday? Garcon still has a bad case of the drops.

That's a sickness Garcon can't seem to get rid off. I suggest he takes some Tylenol or something for that

I dunno about that... He may not be on the team anymore, but what I remember from last year's episodes of "Huddle Up Indy", Pierre was a very easy going guy and very funny. If he were still a Colt, I'd vote him the Colt "most likely to have a career in television after retirement" Maybe it would still be Pat Mac, but I don't see Garcon getting in anybody's face, especially one of our guys.... its not like we didn't try to resign him for this season. Not sure how well he got along with JP, though... I guess we will see.

The way Garcon left kinda left a bad taste in my mouth...I know he's going to try to show us up so I hope he gets embarrassed....

Why? He got our best offer, then hit free agency and immediately got a better offer. I think the Redskins overpaid, but I don't fault Garcon for that. He posted a very gracious thank you to Colts fans on his Facebook once he decided to leave, and I believe that was the way the news came out. I think that's admirable.

He wasn't my favorite player, but I don't fault him for taking the extra $7.5 million the Redskins gave him. I wish him the best. If he tries to show the Colts up, that might change things, but I fully expect him to be super competitive whenever he faces us.

He may have dropped some critical passes here, but he was never anything but a class act in a Colts uni. I wish him the best.

I could see him giving our Corners serious problems, I havent seen any Redskins games to see if he is there #1 or two but if he is lined up against Powers often thats a win for Garcon just do to his blazing speed alone

He is their #1 from what I've seen. Haven't seen a whole lot of him blazing down the field for long catches though...a lot of screens and short routes off of bootleg play action.

Maybe, but Garcon hasn't really been too bitter from what I've seen.

This game is way over hyped.

Not really concerned about the outcome however I am curious how our defense handles a QB with

wheels. For years our secondary would get blocked down field allowing huge chunks against the option

and screen passes. I could be wrong but this is how I see an RG3 run offense. Washington does not have

the biggest WR core. I would like to see us play man and attack the WR's. This should disrupt a game plan

that involves getting the RB or TE in the flat on screen passes. RG3 may use this dink and dunk

strategy and try to catch you off guard with a triple option or with a quick out to Garcon or Moss.

Not really concerned about the offense. With Collie possibly out I want to see Kris Adams emerge the last two

preseason games. He has size that we need at WR and if he continues to catch the balls throw to him you may

see him on the PS or best case AR. I also want to see more Vic Ballard with the first unit.I think Brown has pretty

much solidified his starting so I wouldn't expect to see him much past midway 2nd quarter.

Sambrano is a curious choice as a KR to me. Do they really feel he can make the team? Griff

played really well against the Steelers. If he continues that streak, he should make the team. He seems

best fit as a slot receiver. This would should lead to Brazill or Hilton returning kicks. I just don't think there

are enough positions available for a specialist on this team. With WR's like Ross and Adams looking to

possibly make the PS I just find Sambrano a curious return man at this point.

    • I am not a big believer in hiring the so called offensive mind. I believe that is the role of a competent qb coach and offensive coordinator. We are playing a coach in Tomlin who is maybe the best coach in the league and he was a defensive coach. Williams is not struggling because of coaching. They have no run game and he is constantly getting pressured and that is on the GM. They didn't invest in the Oline. They built their receiver group in the draft and through free agency.  A solid Oline would have taken pressure off of Williams. The Colts are actually built well to insulate a rookie qb and give him time to grown.  If you look deep into Fields stats, he is still a bad qb. They are just not putting a lot on his plate, running the ball down teams throats and playing strong D.
    • Apparently it is that hard to grasp. They're the #1 ranked  OL through 3 weeks. Not over the entire season. Not over the course of several seasons. They're #1 right now. They're giving a better performance than the other 31 OL. That does not automatically mean they're playing at an elite level. What if no OL is playing at an elite level?   Imagine you're in school in a class of 30. The class is given a test. You get the highest score with a B-. All that means is you had the highest grade but no one scored a perfect, or elite, grade.    Can you grasp it now or do I need to get out the crayons?
    • I think teams are going to give up the run and force offence to march down the field on a 10 play drive and score. They are going to take away the big play and make Richardson throw intermediate and short passes. The defense believes that he will throw up a pick and/or the offense will stall.  Although,  I dislike the cover 2 defense, it is perfect against a guy like Richardson. The Colts have not shown that they can put long drives together. It is early and it is up to Richardson to make teams attack more. If they continue to run with success and Richardson makes those easy plays.  Then it is a different ball game and it opens up everything. Quite simple actually, lol.  If Taylor is pounding the rock against 4 man fronts because Richardson has improved his accuracy.  Then the D will have to pick their poison. Do you play up to stop the run, short and intermediate passes? Or do they play back to stop the big play? Richardson's evolution, if it happens, will stress the defense probably like no other qb because of his skill set.
