Thank god we get first dibs on every player that hits the waiver wire once cuts start happening because there's teams that are deep at cornerback and other positions we may need to address. And I know Grigson ain't going let talent just walk by him

Moore surprises me. expierence sure but had hopes for Ballard to be high in the ranks by season time. i know this is just preliminary but i agree, still a surprise.

and maybe Colts are just keeping T.Y REALLY healthy to burn the Bears!

Ballard has been running very well, and so has Carter. Ballard has shown to be a very poor pass blocker.

I had just read also that Reitz was running with the starters.....I believe yesterday.

I am with ya on Hilton. I thought he would be either punt or kick returner. I had read he had dropped some passes....wondering if he was dropping kicks/punts too.

He's reporting it, it wouldn't be much of a story if it was just his opinion!

Apparently teams are required to post a depth chart before the game. I wouldn't take a lot of stock in it right now. Next weeks will be a lot clearer once they see the guys in action.

So this is his camp observation?

...

Moving on.

No, it isn't. Like I said, it was him reporting it, and here are some tweets from the official Colts account to back it up:

Seriously, do you think I'd have made a thread just for one guy's opinion based on camp? Did you think I was lying when I said he was reporting it rather than it being his opinion?

You said it was from his Twitter account. You didn't say there was anything official about it. And I really don't see what this has to do with you. No one called you a liar or said anything about what you would or wouldn't do. It was my impression -- evidently wrongly so -- that this was Chappell's observation of who is working first and second team at camp. In which case, I wouldn't put too much stock in it, as it has little to do with what the depth chart will look like on Sunday, much less in a month against the Bears.

I don't understand the umbrage.

Thanks for the Instagram links, though. That's what I was looking for. I'm interested in the order of things outside of the top 22-30 players on the team. We have a pretty good handle on who they are already, for the most part.

That may not be the case.... he had his own personal depth chart out about 7-10 days ago and he made it clear it was only HIS depth chart, his personal opinion and not the official team depth chart. Said he'd have many revisions to it.

This may be the first of many revisions.

Don't count this as gospel just yet....

maybe Brazill is the fastest... not just Wayne tossing compliments!

Being the kick/punt returner is not just all about speed.

If Brazill has ahead of T.Y. for 1st team returner, it likely has little to do with who is faster. It's more likely who is using their blockers better and who is making defenders miss more...

Just another perspective to consider....

I've just gone to the IndyStar website.... and, according to Chappell himself this is NOT his guess at a depth chart, this is what the TEAM HAS released to the media...

I'm linking it here.... good catch for whoever started this....

http://blogs.indysta...lines-up-where/

FYI.... Chappell is pretty emphatic.... do not get married to this.... says this was probably done in pencil, certainly not pen... and one should EXPECT changes as the pre-season unfolds....

THERE. WILL. BE. CHANGES. Don't get too worked up on any of this until we see how pre-season shakes out....

After all, this is why God created pre-season!

Dan.....

No one thinks you were lying. No one. But you could have been mistaken.

Since this thread started I think there have been three depth charts released and they're all somewhat different from one another. Each has somewhat different information.

It's not you we didn't believe, it's the information that we're skeptical of.

Would have been the same reaction no matter who had posted, Superman, or me, or anyone else.

Don't take it personally. You got this all started -- so you get all the credit!!

The depth chart isn't anything shocking well the first team was pretty much predictable..everybody else has to show what your going to bring to the table because no roster spot is going to be handed to you.preseason games will sort out the rest of the 2nd string that's going fight for playing time in the regular season and that coveted corner spot and return guys(I suspect Brazil on luckless and Hilton on punts)

very surprised antonio johnson is still on the team let alone starting at nt. i know he's gained 20 lbs up to 330lb's now but he wasn't strong enough in the 4-3 and the 3-4 requires a nt who creates double teams so the lb's can make plays. im expecting mckinney to be the starting nt week 1 vs the bears. i think moala, redding, and nevis will have a good 3 man rotation at re and le. overall i like how our defense is set except the nt position.
