My hope would be for a Safety, Blackmon is a free agent in 2025, and a LB, Speed will be a FA in 2025. Rounds 3 and 4 CB and TE , with RB, Oline depth, Dline depth following.  I am sure they will sign more, but think only 3-4 of the current 2025 FA should be signed, Dayo, Stuard, Fries, and maybe Dulin. Say good luck to Sam, Granson, Bryan, Pinter, Sermon, Harrison, and Likely Kelly.

Coaches are the problems, inability to make the right calls. Should be a little more diverse calls. Screen passes, short passes etc…Where’s JT, he seems to  be “MIA” the last two games?

I’m a be honest on defense a lot of times we in right play and guys just miss tackles or blow assignments. Like 2 defenders missing tackles in backfield or guys not getting of blocks. We have a roster issue.

Agreed.

I'm no Ballard hater, but he is who he is at this point.

He'll do 3 things well then screw up 3 or 4 to offset any good he did.

We need a new leader at the top (I'm not talking owner stuff, strictly GM talk).

Ballard issue is he is to afraid to make a mistake and doesn’t go all in or commit cause he would be held accountable. Like instead of trading up to get a player he rather trade back get more 7th rd picks like we get lucky here and there but you need more swings in the top of draft not the 6th & 7th round

Should be TE and LB  These two groups need a overhaul badly.  Then DL/OL etc.

Im ok with this, but I’m honestly down for using FA as well if there’s a player available with the proven production and won’t break our salary cap.  This team needs to get older and more experienced.  We essentially are on a 3 year clock.  Need to get proven players in here who can instantly provide.  If that’s a rookie, cool.  If that’s a FA, cool.  I’d be happy with double dipping and cutting lesser quality players.  If that’s means players like cox, speed, Franklin, and Granson have to go then so be it.  But I’m tired of the wait and see.  It’s been 8 years, time runs out eventually.

I wonder how the TEs are going to run this year.  Ballard will probably prefer the Michigan kid but Warren's the one I'm sweet on right now.  Haven't gone through all of them but every time I watch Penn St he leaps off the screen.  Kid is tough with a bit of a mean streak.  They call me Humpty, I like my TE's spunky.

This team badly needs a #1 TE, improved LB play and just a scoshe more OL depth, and we are good. You can add a DB  to the mix too.

All assuming Anthony continues his recent upward trajectory, we could genuinely be 1 draft away from a scary team.... but you gotta hit on at least 3 outa the top 4 or 5 picks in a big way for that to happen.

If you squint, you can really see this coming together, we just arent there yet. Which we all knew might be the case with Anthony, the dude is still young and raw. Lets see how he does to close the year out, but if he finishes strong im happy, even if we miss out on the playoffs.

Look hard enough and you'll see whatever you want to see.  Sometimes it's better to take a step back.  This is one of those seasons I think.

With TE and LB, you don’t really have very high positional value.  Only a couple NFL TEs are difference makers.  Special 3-down LBs may be worth a 1st, but many years there aren’t any.

    • The more I consider it, the more concerned I get.  When I look at the first year statistical comparisons that I posted earlier, Mitchell looks a whole lot more like Phillip Dorsett than he does anyone else.   Mitchell - 13 games | 7 starts | 20 catches on 45 targets (44.4%) | 254 yds | 0 TD's | 19.5 yds/game Downs - 17 games | 9 starts | 68 catches on 98 targets (69.4%) | 771 yds | 2 TD's | 45.4 yds/game Pittman - 13 games | 8 starts | 40 catches on 51 targets (65.6%) | 503 yds | 1 TD | 38.7 yds/game Moncrief - 16 games | 2 starts | 32 catches on 49 targets (65.3%) | 444 yds | 3 TD's | 27.8 yds/game Hilton - 15 games | 1 start | 50 catches on 90 targets (55.6%) | 861 yds | 7 TD's | 57.4 yds/game Dorsett - 11 games | 0 starts | 18 catches on 39 targets (46.2%) | 225 yds | 1 TD | 20.5 yds/game Wayne - 13 games | 9 starts | 27 catches on 49 targets (55.1%) | 345 yds | 0 TD's | 26.5 yds/game
    • As we go through our discussions and observations for Richardson, we've mostly used two quarterbacks as comparison:  Josh Allen (for his early inaccuracy, strong arm, and ability to run) and Cam Newton (for his imposing physicality and strong arm). There's one other quarterback that I feel needs to be in the conversation: Justin Fields Through his career in Chicago, he was a phenomenon running the ball.  He ran for over 1100 yards in 2022!  But he had a lot less success throwing the ball.  So much so that the team finally decided to move on from him after only 3 seasons. I'm not saying "Richardson is exactly like Fields".  But I am saying that the comparison has merit, and bears watching.
    • I implore you to go back and watch the tape from his first 2 seasons. His accuracy was woeful.
    • Nice. I’ve heard people say they think he’s a 1st round caliber corner. I hope he goes to the Senior Bowl.
    • Yup. May be a faster version of Brent’s.
