So...  If Anthony Richardson completely blows up, we'll be looking at an early 1st round draft pick, and might have the possibility of taking Miami's Cameron Ward.

But what if AR shows enough development that we wind up keeping him for next year?  We're going to have to draft a developmental QB anyway.  We won't be keeping Ehlinger.

So.... what if we drafted IU quarterback Kurtis Rourke somewhere around the 5th round?

He's the 272nd rated player on Drafttek.  He's the 8th rated QB on NFL Draft Buzz.  He'll already be 24 next year.  Yeah, older than AR.  He doesn't have the wow physical stats, but he's played a whole lot of college football.  Not expecting him to compete for the starting job immediately.  He would most likely be the 3rd QB in the room.  Still...

@Yoshinator, what do you think?

Personally I think at least 1 QB needs to be drafted in every draft for the Colts.  We have seen what not having a back up plan can result in. There is one thing that Belichick got right was drafting a QB a few times over Bradys carrier.  Belichick used them not only backing up Brady but as trade bait.

I don't know too much about this QB draft class outside the 1st round right now, but I have heard of Kurtis Rourke, and I'd be fine taking him in the 5th round. We'll be without Flacco and probably Sam next year, so I'm definitely for getting a developmental QB that's a little bit older that could start if AR gets hurt. Bo Nix is a good example of how a 24-year-old QB has a high floor and is very valuable as a solid game manager QB.
