He was very accurate at Kansas and has the legs to escape and make plays. So far AR is benched and Flacco is only a bit better. it would be nice to see a QB that hits open receivers and has speed. I know this sounds crazy but this season looks to be another mediocre one otherwise

You won’t see him until it’s the final games of the season if at all.

I would be fine with that

last 2 games

if we are out of the playoffs and Richardson continues to melt

I hate to give up on someone but sheeze….. the worst accuracy in 20 years ?

Oh wow…If we start Bean to see what we have, we know the entire organization is getting overhauled bc that’s a desperation move.  It’s Flacco or AR for the rest of the year.

Well, 19% third down efficiency over the last three games makes me want to go to a different quarterback to see what happens. I’m not saying that Bean is going to  be the quarterback of the future but if we keep losing why not

No if you’re going to change QBs go back to AR. The Carousel has to stop, you gain nothing by starting Bean actually it makes the organization look like Ben more of a crap show and will blue under more scrutiny if that were to happen.

People here really need to realize just because you had success against third and fourth stringers in a couple of pre-season games doesn’t mean you are some hidden gem just waiting for a chance.

Because, stubborn - that's why not.  And how embarrassing would it be for a guy like him to show up the "first round pick" and his veteran replacement?

Why have no QB needy teams signed him?  There is a reason

Could be he's buried in the Colts practice squad and no one has really seen him.  I dunno...i'm just reaching for gold, i reckon.

Maybe the board will adapt to the growing ridiculous comments requiring a preface of : " Once upon a Time...." to alert incoming nonsense.

Oh, so we are acting like Ballard & co. Actually KNOW how to make quarterback decisions now?

Playing Bean is a decision they want no part of for now.  Now if we get eliminated early they might kick the tires but I would bet the go ack to AR instead.

Stranger things have happened, would Brock Purdy be playing now if not for opportunities due to injuries? And how many teams passed over him and he was right there, a starting franchise QB under their noses and didn't see it. Maybe it's Shanahan's system.. maybe not. We know Ehlinger isn't the guy.

IMO Bean has more upside than Sam Ehlinger who has stolen money for multiple seasons with the shoe using that very concept. Funny thing is that Sam can't even crack qb2 after years on the job but according to Ballard he "knows the playbook." Lol

This is my main problem with Ballard (besides losing) is that he doubles down on "his" mostly meh type guys instead of seeking to upgrade either through FA or with draft picks that played at nearly an elite level. It's mostly high RAS scores, waiver wire castoffs or that little engine that could from some random school. By all accounts most had Sam going undrafted due to his size, limited arm, pocket awareness and journeyman type athleticism. Yes Sam played at Texas but looked horrible in the big games against athletic top teams.

Now with that being said I do believe that Bean should've beaten out Sam as qb3 based on intangibles and head to head in training camp as well as preseason. Bean simply passed the eye test to most. I say again HOF Shannon Sharpe said after that Pats game that "Sam Ehlinger couldn't play dead in a horror movie" with Skip Bayless chiming in that he watched Sam a lot at Texas and was never impressed. Oh well...

I would have no problem with this if in fact that were out on AR all together

My question is.... Why is Sam E. on the roster if he is deemed to be useless. What good is it that he knows the playbook? Why have Bean on the practice squad if he is not good enough to compete? Why carry the Kelly dude for 2 years with never intending to use him.? Why bring Slovis in for training camp knowing AR was your superstar in waiting? I think I know why?

this Colts brain trust knows nothing of what makes a football player. This debilitating shortfall exposes and shines a light on them which in turn limits their options to make this team a better product due to embarrassment and ego destroying truth.

People say they will look desperate and maybe even stupid making any move possible to help solve this QB conundrum.

Right now the Colts need to know what they have on this roster quickly. Play every backup at every position especially at QB.

Rotate AR, bean and Sammy every quarter of these last games. The year was over weeks ago. This team is in free fall right now. Let Flacco go. There is no more need for him at this point. If the year ends with no clear leader out of this QB room, there is no need to keep any of them around. Bring in 4 more to compete for the jobs available. why not give a 4 or 5 year veteran a chance once in a while? There is a Japanese term for doing business called "kiasan". Always get better every day and don't settle for anything less. Of course you have to have the team brass sign off on this philosophy to begin with.

I mean really why not, Flacco has been completely awful the last few weeks. Coach is not one to play Richardson at all. We’ve already seen Erlinger and he is not that good. Why not give a young mobile quarterback a chance to play?

I know, but I still have to ask. :)  If Bean was better than AR, he would not be on the practice squad. Put AR on the practice squad and he will be poached as soon as that opportunity becomes available.

Bean is like the Giants Tommy DeVito. The fans love him but he is not a starting QB.
