I think was really telling when someone asked Joe Flacco if AR asked him any questions, and Joe said AR didn't know what to ask.  That right there speaks volumes.

A lot of people are taking what Flacco was saying there out of context.  The full quote was about how young AR is and how he needed to play to learn these things and he was as he was playing.  Clearly the Colts are going in different direction but it wasn’t presented as man AR doesn’t even know what to ask as some are presenting it as.

Oh, then I took it out of context.  But I really feel if AR isn't asking questions, that's a different story.

Lets be honest ........  we rushed the kid into the starting lineup

Give him some more time.

If you go by "history" of teams making moves like this , it's the end of AR in Indy. Really a stupid move IMO.  It's Ballard and S.S. felling they need to win to solidify their careers . You don't draft a QB at #4 , let him start around 8 games and then state you are going with a 40 year old QB. It's really a dumb rectum move .

The sack he shredded before he tapped out is unique.   He was dead to rights.   The kid has unique traits.  Unfortunately, being accurate passing isn't one..  yet.  I think it's far too early to give up on him.  Pay Steve Clarkson what ever he wants to work with him

Everyone wants to ignore that he has more than once made 300lb lineman look silly trying to bring him down. He's probably the most physically gifted QB ever. Is he a sure thing or close to being a finished product ... no. Should he have started around 8 games and then permanently benched ? IMO , it's a solid no.

Well I have egg on my face, I never imagined we would bench Richardson. I thought it was going to be sink or swim with him. I can see benching him though, this roster is loaded and you don't want to throw the season away with what has been bad qb play by Richardson. But there is a lot more blame to go around than just Richardson.

I'm not sure about having alot of issues besides AR. His play hasn't been good and he has regressed since last season.  Injuries have played a part too.

I can honestly say our record would be better had Flacco started earlier in the season.

Go for the first pick, Bears were willing (they traded) 1st overall, draft Stroud.

"We drafted the best player in the draft 4th overall". Yeah, right!

Stroud wasn’t the first pick.  You still need to have some luck with the first pick.  Hindsight is 20 20 .

I honestly don’t think Anthony Richardson will start for the Colts again. his terrible play combined with the tap out……. The way all other NFL players/media  reacted……. Gut feeling is he will remain a backup or be traded.

If Ballard and his team are the talent evaluators we regard then, that would be a possible scenario.

It’s amazing how bad Jacksonville is unless they play us. Hopefully Flacco can beat them at home later this season it just boggles the mind

If the Colts lose to the Jags this year. The whole thing needs to be blown up. Jags r horrible and have given up. Losing to them would suggest this team lacks character and Shane hasn't been able to correct that trend in 2 years.

You can't even keep track of who was drafted where.   I might sit this one out

You really should go be a " fan" of the Browns or Jets ...they blow things up every year or two. That's right up your alley.

Lol. Anger management issues? Worked in the field for years. I would suggest u take it upon yourself to seek out a good counselor.

This Flacco led team scored 6 points!

6

Time for a reset

Yea, 3 off a turnover inside the 25 and the other on a PI penalty. They didn't actually play offense and get 6 points....LOL

Again the last time a backup was named the starter for the rest of the year it was Sam and Matt Ryan started two games later…

Maybe they knew they had no shot against that rested  Vikings D and didn’t want AR to be embarrassed on national TV.

Now that’s over, and Flacco is taking us nowhere, they have no excuse not to go back to AR.  He’s either the future of the franchise or a bust.  And we won’t find that answer with him on the bench.

Also, is it just me or is our offense the least imaginative of any that we’ve seen this year?

They play the Bills and Lions in two of the next three games.  It’s not going to get easier.

Yeah, I find the silence by all those posters screaming for Flacco to start kind of funny tonight.

he must have been trying his best to do an AR impression. Throwing into double or triple coverage. Missing wide open dump offs all night.

I figure they will keep Flacco in for the next 4 or 5 games. If we end up with the playoffs out of reach they’ll put AR back in. But who knows?

I thought of you and other anti-AR fans a lot during the game. What did you think? I thought for a veteran QB, Flacco performed terribly. The Vikings defense is not great. I understand it confusing AR but not Flacco. He did not look good.

Quote

The Colts produced season lows in offensive points (6), total yards (227), rushing yards (68) and first downs (13) tonight.

All I know is, AR wouldn’t have hit half the throws Flacco did either way. No matter how bad Flacco was, wasn’t gonna be worse than AR!

I was surprised. I think he’ll bounce back next Sunday. Imo Steichens play calling is a big problem. He gives me Frank Reich vibes.  As far as AR goes I’m sure he’ll get some play time once the playoffs are out of reach but I still don’t think he’s the answer. It’s probably time for a total house cleaning next year.

I mentioned this in the gameday thread...

In the offseason, after Flacco's miraculous 4 game finish with the Browns only 1 team offered Joe a contract for 2024.

One team. No one else was interested.
