Should we sale, buy or just stay for this year trade deadline. Here are a few.

SALE

Trade 1

Packers *taking care of Ryan Kelly*

Ryan Kelly

For

Eric Stokes and a 6th

Kelly would join a team/organization likely headed to the playoffs. Nice stability within the organization with coach and QB.

We would get a look at Eric Stokes for the rest of the season. A former 1st round pick who has starting ability and has played alot of snaps.

Trade 2

Chicago *taking care of Ryan Kelly*

Ryan Kelly

For

Khalil Herbert and a 6th

Kelly would reunite with our old defensive Coordinator. Caleb Williams would benefit nicely from Kelly.

Khalil Herbert would be more insurance for JT health.

Trade 3

Browns *taking care of the team

Ryan Kelly and a 5th

For

Greg Newsome II CB

Kelly would stabilize the Browns line. Possibly staying for a the next QB and Chubb.

Greg Newsome would allow us to take our time with Brents health. He would give us a higher level of cornerback play on the outside then what we have right now.

Hell Merry trade

Ryan Kelly, Kwity Paye and 2024 1st, 4th and 2025 2nd

For

Maxx Crosby DE

Vegas I believe doesn't have state income tax so congratulations Kelly and Paye. Raiders have played so many different line ups without to many having success. This year he could reunite with Minshew and Paye would provide some rushing ability since Crosby would be leaving.

Crosby would make us a hot spot for NFL defensive Coordinators if we choose to move on from Gus. Crosby, Latu, Dayo, Defo and Grover would be a tremendous defensive line next year.

Buy

Kaiir Elam CB and from Bills

For

6th

Former 1st round pick who has experience playing on the outside

Jaycee Horn CB from Panthers

And Miles Sanders

For

2nd round pick

Jaycee Horn has had several injuries. The Panthers can remove the risk of the guarantee of the 5th year as well as dump Miles Sanders terrible contract on us for a 2nd round pick. The pick and the cap space can help them reset as they rebuild

Hell Merry Trade for draft pick

Braden Smith

For

Cowboys 2nd round pick

I wouldn't pull this trade but with 1 more year left on his contract would having a extra 2nd be tempting enough with AR injury history?

Or should we just Stay?

I think we should be a limited buyer and not sell any of our current team

Hassan Reddick would be a GREAT immediate addition to this team

He probably can be had for a conditional 3rd

He would cost a big contract, but this team needs to keep adding to the DL

I think our LBs are suspect and very inconsistent

I cant think of one, but a LB add could be important, and not too expensive for one of the teams that are doing poorly

Having Crosby sounds fun, but I don’t think Chris would part with that many picks to get him.

Crazy part is I think he has the Job security to pull the trade off lol.

Appreciate the read, rather you believe in AR is the guy or not I don't necessarily see this trade hindering the team.

Part of me think it's the scheme. I remember Shaq Leonard complaining.

Guys on my short list are

Steve Wilks

Steve Wilks and Ballard go way back to the Bears and crossed paths with Steichen with the Chargers. Wilks turned the Panthers around and ended the year off on a high note (6-6) before Reich got the HC job. He went on to coach a top 10 defense for the 49ers (lost a starting LB in the Superbowl) and was let go after disagreement and a disappointing Superbowl showing.

Or

Mike Vrabel

Or

Robert Saleh

Shaq started complaining after he lost his step

I am all for Vrabel or Saleh  BUT......  I think you wait until you either out of the playoffs or at the end of the season

I am ready to say g'bye to our DC after the season and probably CB

True.... what's the beef with Steve Wilks 🤔

I agree we should wait till the end of the season

Can we sell our GM and DC for a handful of pennies?

I'd trade them for 3 grilled cheese sandwiches, a large grape slush, and a large tater tot meal from Sonic. Just make sure the grilled cheese sandwiches are well toasted!

I would be happy for a trade for Miles Sanders.  We could use a good backup running back and Shane knows him.  I like our current starting cornerbacks.  Another depth corner would be good.  I have been hoping for Budda Baker for some time.  I think he would be a difference maker in our secondary.  Blackmon is ok but I think an upgrade at FS would go a long way.  Carlise has been coming on at linebacker.  We could use an upgrade there.  I wouldn’t mind an addition there as well.  I don’t think the cost to acquire any of my suggestions would be too much.  The most would be a third for Baker I would think.  I believe a win against Miami would cause some discussions to take place.  So let’s get the win guys.

    • Allen had zero receivers to throw too those first years..he didn't just magically get better with accuracy his third year ..he got better cause diggs joined the team..
    • I hope he can last till the Colts pick.
    • The more I consider it, the more concerned I get.  When I look at the first year statistical comparisons that I posted earlier, Mitchell looks a whole lot more like Phillip Dorsett than he does anyone else.   Mitchell - 13 games | 7 starts | 20 catches on 45 targets (44.4%) | 254 yds | 0 TD's | 19.5 yds/game Downs - 17 games | 9 starts | 68 catches on 98 targets (69.4%) | 771 yds | 2 TD's | 45.4 yds/game Pittman - 13 games | 8 starts | 40 catches on 51 targets (65.6%) | 503 yds | 1 TD | 38.7 yds/game Moncrief - 16 games | 2 starts | 32 catches on 49 targets (65.3%) | 444 yds | 3 TD's | 27.8 yds/game Hilton - 15 games | 1 start | 50 catches on 90 targets (55.6%) | 861 yds | 7 TD's | 57.4 yds/game Dorsett - 11 games | 0 starts | 18 catches on 39 targets (46.2%) | 225 yds | 1 TD | 20.5 yds/game Wayne - 13 games | 9 starts | 27 catches on 49 targets (55.1%) | 345 yds | 0 TD's | 26.5 yds/game
    • As we go through our discussions and observations for Richardson, we've mostly used two quarterbacks as comparison:  Josh Allen (for his early inaccuracy, strong arm, and ability to run) and Cam Newton (for his imposing physicality and strong arm). There's one other quarterback that I feel needs to be in the conversation: Justin Fields Through his career in Chicago, he was a phenomenon running the ball.  He ran for over 1100 yards in 2022!  But he had a lot less success throwing the ball.  So much so that the team finally decided to move on from him after only 3 seasons. I'm not saying "Richardson is exactly like Fields".  But I am saying that the comparison has merit, and bears watching.
    • I implore you to go back and watch the tape from his first 2 seasons. His accuracy was woeful.
