Colts Jaguars Predictions

This has the high probability to be a trap game, Jax is 0-4 and we never win in that building. We do not know who will play QB next week if AR's hip gets worse this week. I know if we can bring that defensive intensity we had in the first 20 minutes of the game yesterday I sure like our chances better. However I just see Jax getting well this Sunday and Laurence having a big game. Jax 24-16

Not a trap game. Can't  overlook an opponent  that always beats us in their building. If anything  the jags should  be favorites. If we want to beat them we have to jump out to a big lead early to squash what confidence  they have left.

I think the streak comes to an end whether its AR or Flacco.

I was really hoping the Jags would break the bubble with a win vs the Texans.  Almost, but no cigar.   Now they lurk as perhaps being even more dangerous as a wounded cat.

For the Colts, this game is HUGE!  I think this game will define the season for the Colts as being either contenders or pretenders.  A win and the Colts just might legitimately be contenders.  A loss and I think I will write them off as being 2024 pretenders.

Monkey off their back, Colts win!

I was rooting for the Jags too, when we go to Houston, we have to win that game in order to win the division.

Yup, that next game vs Houston is must win.

Next week sets up nicely for the Colts.  If Colts win, then there’s a good chance Colts are tied for 1st with the Texans, as I expect the Bills to bounce back after yesterday’s debacle against the Ravens, with a win over Houston.  Thus, everything being equal between Houston and Indy moving forward, that next game vs Houston would settle the division.

First things first, though, Colts need to beat the Jaguars this coming Sunday.

Yep, Bills will beat Houston IMO.

Want to take the Colts, but the Jags are desperate and desperate teams and players do desperate things.  don't forget they could have beaten Texans in their house...  If Richardson and Taylor play, we should be good.

24-19 Colts

I disagree.  Jags own us in Jacksonville.  We could lose versus them there and win the rest of our games. Granted I prefer to win, but the jags in Jacksonville  is by far the hardest game on our schedule and it isn't  particularly  close.

There is a good chance the Jags get their first win week 5. The Colts have had problems in Jacksonville, and no indication that this will stop. Jacksonville almost beat the Texans, and this being a divisional game, it could be tough.

OTOH the Colts' losing streak in Jacksonville has to end sometime. Why not this year?

I expect both teams coming out ready to play.

I think the Colts win.

Doug Pederson threw his team under the bus in post game interview. Very unclassy. As coach, you're the first person responsible for the Team. Even if the team didn't execute well enough, you should always try to get all the bullets from the media.

This team will not play hard to save his job.

At least, that's what I would do when my coach says smthn like this publicly .....

Colts are giving 3 (last I heard).  If I was placing a bet, I’d take the Jags right now before the Colts practice.   The line will change if AR and JT aren’t practicing.

I’m not going to bet.  They don’t build those beautiful casinos in Vegas because they don’t know what they’re doing.

But I can understand it if someone places a small wager on the Jags.  It’s a win win situation.   You’d feel good with either outcome.

I bet on the Jaguars and based on my luck, I lose far more than I bet. So I bet $5.

Hopefully I lose, counting on my luck (or lack of :))

Win Win!

I figure I spent a lot more going to Colts games that they lost, so $5 is worth a win.

Seems so much like a trap game….a colts team that hasn’t been stellar overall and a jags team that’s winless thirsting to give a beat down.

i really don’t think we win….but i also said that about the Steelers game. I can’t make a prediction yet.

What’s up with people calling it a trap game when it’s a divisional game and neither team is way better talent wise than the other to consider it a trap game.

Absurd Trap Game? We are a 3 point Dawg in a place we have not won a game in over a decade. No clue. Our Oline and Dline have consistently been beaten in this matchup over the years in Duvall. No pressure on Lawrence and no protection from our O’line. That has been the pattern in this House of Horrors. Look at the weather forecast, I’m packing the Ponchos.

Different year different teams. I don’t buy into curses. Streaks are meant to be broken.

It usually comes down to matchups, injuries and turnovers.  Yet we managed to beat the Chiefs the last two times.  Probably big underdogs in both games.

I don’t believe in curses either (well, except for the Browns.  They’ve been cursed since they came back).   But you have to admit something is strange in Jax.

It’s been what 10 years since the Colts won there?  Different teams, different years, same result.

For me it’s a trap game because Jacksonville hasn’t looked too good in all 4 of their losses…they haven’t done enough to win those games. The colts on the other hand are coming off back to back wins. The colts I hope won’t underestimate them but it’s easy to see that they may just be more hungry than we are based on 4 losses and wanting a first win of the season…compile that with the fact we have just historically sucked in Jacksonville for some crazy reason.

Looking at the upcoming schedule, if the Colts are to be a contender, they ought to win their next three.  Ergo, the Colts should realistically be sitting at 5-2 heading into the Houston rematch.

The Colts take their top 32 ranked defense with their top 32 ranked rookie QB to the black hole of success for the Colts historically...Jacksonville. The Colts dress only 32 for this game due to injuries but the ref's let them suit up a handful of folding chairs to fill out the roster. Jax 31 Colts 6 in an offensive struggle to the death

The Jags have looked awful so far this season. Realistically, they're a bad team right now. I understand the line.

But the Colts also went down there in 2021, favored by 2 TDs, against a 1-15 team, an unimpressive rookie QB, and a lame duck coach. And they left their talent on the bus. So I understand the skepticism.

Right now, I think the Colts are better. It would be nice to break the losing streak, and knock Doug Pederson off the sidelines and into a network TV job.

No such thing as a trap game when u r 2 and 2 and struggling on both sides of the ball. They haven't beat this team in ages. A trap game is when u r 10 and 0 and playing a crappy team. If the Colts see this a trap game. Then man this team has serious, serious issues.

Not a trap game. No confidence at all in Duval. Jags will wake up after their slumber and we'll be their first win.

Also I'll a double dose of crow if this isn't the case..

What I need to do is stop watching. I have a superstition, bear with me, transcends sports.

Chiefs' Eagles SB, I was so tense because I was rooting for Mahomes, so I stopped watching at half time when the Eagles were leading 24-14, the rest is history. 2022 AFCCG, Sneed goes down within the first few plays, their star CB vs the Bengals with Burrow boasting a 3-0 record vs Mahomes. It did not bode well for the Chiefs, so I stopped watching. Learned they won by a FG.

Chiefs' 49ers SB, I stopped watching when the 49ers went up 10-0, once I knew the result, I watched highlights.

I love Novak Djokovic, he was down a break and a set versus Carlos Alcaraz in Cincinnati. I stopped watching, he came back, won that set in a tie break and then won the whole match. 2018 Wimbledon semis vs Nadal, he goes down 1 sets to 2, I stopped watching, Djokovic comes back and wins.

Bengals game versus the Chiefs this year, the Bengals were ahead before that defensive TD happened, Burrow had just thrown a TD on 4th down. Stopped watching. Chiefs win by 1.

Yesterday, Flacco barely gets out of the pocket to avoid intentional grounding, Steelers were down 10-17, they were making a comeback. I stopped watching. The Colts won. If I have a favorite in the game, I have to stop cheering for them at some point and stop watching, that is my superstition.

I know what I need to do for the Jaguars game, let us hope it works. :)

Honestly, we stink at the moment. There is some sort of disconnect between the players and coaches.  Pedersen doesnt seem to care and looks like he's lost the team. Lawrence is out of sync and seems to be going down the Sam Darnold (Jets version) road. GM didnt properly address the OL in the offseason and we are paying now. Flacco torched us as a Brown last year; if you are smart you will start him. Our D hasnt forced a turnover yet.  Our season is pretty much already relegated to acting as spoiler to better teams, which at the moment is the entire league.  If you guys cant sweep us this year, then honestly I dont give you much hope for winning the division.

    • Wow, that sucks. It must've been pretty bad cuz MPJ is a warrior.    It's hard to believe how many players/how much of Indy's cap is hurt this year.    Here's hoping Mitchell steps up and sheds his whole scared to get hit persona.
    • Probably twice I can remember but never missed a game.
    • I would honestly trade pittman and draft someone that is A a better player more dynamic weapon and B cheaper.
    • Gus will get fired and nothing else will change.   After the Colts finish with a top 15 pick its going to be the same thing.   Ballard will say “Look, we didn’t get it done. I will hold myself accountable and I didn’t give us enough to do go win games. Look We had some tough injuries. Things just didn’t go our way. I still believe in these young guys.”   Ballard mentioned in his earlier years that he will spend to get the team over the top. Once he believed the Colts were close to a championship he would be willing to risk more to get some guys to put it all together. Problem is, we haven’t even been close because of his poor decisions and stubbornness.    Okay rant over.
    • Guys I will take the blame for all the injuries. I don’t know what I did to get cursed but all of my sports teams this year are made of glass. I’m a huge braves fan and we lost our star outfielder Ronald Acuna for the year and our star pitcher Spencer strider for the year.  That’s not all, our all star level players Ozzie albies ,Austin Riley , and Roy winner Michael Harris, lost over 50 games each with injury.   Oh and our best pitcher and this years most likely cy young winner got injured and couldn’t pitch in the playoffs.    I feel like I’ve seen so many injuries this year on my favorite teams that I’m some how causing it , like medusas gaze lol.    No but seriously I think this could be a blessing in disguise. Pittman wasn’t exactly lighting the world on fire and I think our young guys could use the experience of stepping up into a higher role in the offense. We will see how it goes.
