Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence was pressured just once on his 34 dropbacks. That 2.9% pressure rate was the lowest in a game in his career, per ESPN Research. The two lowest pressure rates in his career have come against Indianapolis (pressured on 10% of dropbacks in Week 2 in 2022).

Colts currently rank: -- 31st in % of drives ending in punts (23.6%). -- 32nd in 3-and-out% (18.2%) -- 32nd in yards surrendered per drive (37.7)

Can you say historically BAD?

Every week it seems a player is having a career day. Even in the win last week , Feilds had a career day. It's getting to the point that the opponent doesn't have to dress a punter.

I said the same thing. Every game a QB and or WR are having either their best game of the season or best game of their careers. Lawrence, BTJ, and Bigsby all had career and season high performances. Bigsby had 132 total yards and 2 TDs in 2023 total….he had 101 and 2 TDs against us. Lawrence threw for a career high 371. 122 yards receiving was a season high for BTJ.

That is absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable. Falls right on Bradley and Ballard.

Apparently there are a lot of people upset in Buffalo. Would we take Sean McDermott as a DC?

Yes, absolutely.

I’m not sure. When it’s crunch time, he goes into a shell too.

I would still like Jim Leonhard or Dave Merritt with plenty of mixes of blitzes and front 4 rushes across personnel with good secondary coaching.

Ah some up and comers. Gotta say, what the Broncos defense has been doing is  very impressive. That’s the type of team you surround a young QB with.

the new unnecessary roughness rule has hurt all defenses and the tom brady hit the qb rules have really hurt defenses. it is an offense sided game now. very hard to have an attacking defense with these rules. maybe the gus play back and let it happen is the new football

If thats the case then the NFL is a joke...

If I was an opposing offense, I'd be salivating at playing a Gus Bradley Defense

Colts are the worst ranked defense in the league in 2024

They were 24th in 2023

They were 27th in 2022

They were 10th in 2021

Bet you'll never guess when Gus joined the team .................

Hey, he leaves the Seahawks, the very next year Dan Quinn comes in and coaches the Legion of Boom to a SB win.

Then goes on to underachieve with the Jags as HC in 2013-2016, ironically the last time we beat Jaguars in Jacksonville. Then he leaves starting 2017 and Jaguars make the AFCCG but Bortles holds them back vs Brady.

Definition of insanity is his D.

All of the losing teams fan bases are complaining about coaching.  Even some of the winning teams as well.  It’s to expected.  I don’t expect anything to change with the Colts until the end of the season.  Whining about it until you’re blue in the face isn’t going to change anything.  The season is here.  Try to enjoy it before it’s gone.  It’s a long offseason.  It will be here soon enough.  Try to find something to cheer about and appreciate the team.  They are young and they are doing their best.  I think they will get better as the season moves forward.  That’s all we can hope for.  I don’t want to think about the offseason right now.  Let’s take them one at a time.  See what happens.

They’re very bad, but I think Cincy has a worse defense. Cincy is allowing an average 29 points per game. We’re at 24. Both are ridiculously bad though.

Misery loves company but it is still misery. :)

There are QBs capable of handling the best Ds you throw at them, like Lamar (unless it is the playoffs) and Burrow that can get you to 30 against the best of Ds. But I do think playoff intensity makes Ds play every second and possession like it is their last, no doubt about it.

I haven’t been saying he has to go in the past, but after seeing the constant confusion with the db’s, that has to be an issue with the coaching. There are db’s talking to each other with their hands up like they weren’t all on the same page. You have to clean house before you loose the entire teams confidence. The offense is playing well enough to win the devision. Make the change!

It would be huge if the colts could talk bill bilichick into being the dc as a way to get a head coaching job. Let him pick his coaches and have him pick his replacement if/when he gets a head coaching job.

I think that's been a problem these past 3 years, maybe even the biggest problem, the players seem to be lost and confused, and these guys aren't dumb. It really is getting sickening giving up so many 3rd and longs as we have done these past 50 years, but this year we are taking it to a new level, one never seen before.

Don't know those guys, but trust your judgement on them.

What I do like about McDermott's defense is they play 4-3 + zone but actually attack the offense. A guy like McDermott would likely make a big difference here in very little time with the people we already have.

But you are right, his defenses have folded in big games. Whether that's down to scheme or personnel I don't know.

Dream on....they are not firing McDermott.

Not Staley!!! He runs the same brand of defense. He was only good because he had studs on defense when he was a D coordinator. He became a head coach and apparently called the D and he was a disaster.  I want a guy like Martendale.

Wink Martindale.  That's my guy I'd like to try.

Seems unlikely.

There’s a lot of frustration with coaches across the league right now. But that happens when the Chiefs are playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers.

Andy Reed is the best ....but he wasn't good enough for the Eagles...ha

A symbiotic relationship that requires balance. A good coach needs a good QB and vice versa. The stars aligned just right for Kansas.

Been calling for his name on this board since last year

Nice.  I honestly just googled best college defense and his name came up.  We def. need better players but I think our current personnel could be average.  With an average D we could possibly be 3-2 or 4-1.  At least that's what I think.   None of our losses have been blow outs yet.

No thanks. That’s another guy with outdated defensive philosophies. He’s runs that old tired 3-4 defense. We’d have to change a lot.

This is a pipe dream no way he doesn’t get a HC gig somewhere else.

Idk he had a rocky time with the jets and I imagine Vrabel and Belichick would get nod over him. I imagine he will be a DC next where I’m not sure. I don’t believe Saleh and Steichen have a previous connection, I think he would be an interesting choice.

If we lose to the Titans and make Levis look like Dan Marino, it will not shock me if Bradley gets canned.

Apparently Bradley has history with Salah. Instead of firing Bradley could he be brought in to be like assistant DC maybe help clean things up?

This will never happen but imagine if we fired Bradley and hired Belichick or Vrabel as DC. That would be major news. Ballard doesn't do stuff like that though lmao

Colts could bring him in as a consultant or assistant the rest of the year and then he would be free to pursue other opportunities at the end of the year. Maybe it would help Gus and give him fresh eyes. Who knows it could save his job.

Flacco puts up 34 and throws for 3 TD's and 360 and we lose. That should never happen. Gus gets a BOOOOOOOOOOOO from me.
