Steelers Colts Predictions

They are playing a sub par qb, Oline and a running game that averages like 4 yards.  The Bears actually scared me more on offense because at least they have the potential to break it open. Fields is a bad qb (passer) and just keep him in the pocket and make him play qb. Keep everything inside and the defense should be successful. Turnovers and field position is going to be huge in this game. No going for it on 4th down and punt the ball. I think this is going to be an ugly game lol.

Fields is doing just fine as the bears Steelers QB. Colts can’t guard the middle of field so I expect their TE will have a great day. Colts defense is too banged up. Fields has not turned it over this year and is hitting like 75% of his passes.

Gus is aware of this too.  I don’t think Fields can keep this up.  I really like our team this week

I think we will start to see a pattern with Colts and ugly games this year.

Zaire Franklin made a comment about stealing the Terrible Towels. Doesn't he know it's bad to disrespect the Towel? With defensive players out, Franklin didn't help things by making that comment. Now the curse might be on them.

Zaire needs to stop talking and look at his play, he’s been a below average LB this year.

The only thing in colts favor is Steelers are themselves and predictable. I doubt they will come out throwing. They are true to themselves.

I don’t agree with this thought process. What I have seen with Smith ( new OC for the Steelers this season) is a decent amount of unpredictability. Times they threw when I thought they would eat the clock down late in a game, running the ball. Instead they came out throwing. Smith definitely isn’t afraid to mix things up.

Nowadays, teams try to score touchdowns as much as possible. It seems that the Steelers settle for FGs rather than go for touchdowns. Why is that?

What I meant is they are not going to come out and just throw 50 times. They are going to try and break your will and run out the clock. It’s  probably going to be a low scoring game. They have only scored 3 offensive TD. I am shocked they str 3-0. They don’t have many offensive weapons. Harris is not really a pass catching back who will break a long run. Now could that change. Off course. But their Oline id beat up. I was reading an article how they tried to open things up and Fields immediately got sacked. He they try to open things up till he revert back to Bears fields.

You can’t keep winning only scoring one TD A game. I think they have gotten some what lucky with who they have played. Colds dline beat up so we will see.

They had a few called back due to penalties. In the past their OC just was terrible. To start the season they were adjusting to the new OC so weren’t overly proficient. In general Tomlin is a conservative coach so there is a element of that factoring as well.

Come out throwing that probably not. They are very much still a running team and a defensive team. For me they have enough weapons minus a number 2 WR. So yeah still deficient there.

Harris is definitely a ground and pound back. What is good about Fields is he has a strong arm and has been accurate. Plus has nice wheels. So this might not be the most attractive way to win but the rats have done this in the past to some success.

If Kelly and Smith can play I think we have a shot if the offense can sustain drives. If they don’t I think it just to much players to overcome.

My guess is smith will play. It sounds like he is still working through soreness with the knee from the surgery. He didn’t start practicing until TC. Kelly if he has a stinger those can be tricky.

If colts were not beat up on defense maybe. But who are we even playing on defense.

not much difference between our starters and backups, most below average and would not be starters on elite teams

Prediction time. I am 2-1 thus far this season heading into this weeks game. First, let's revisit some recent history. Last season our 3rd and 4th string running backs put over 200 yards rushing on the pitiful steelers in route to a 30-13 win. Since that game the no talent steelers are 6-0 in regular season games and we are 2-4. I refer to the steelers as "no talent" because according to some of our resident expert gm's here the Colts are mediocre to below average roster and since the steelers lost big to us last year they must have a worse roster(logically and reasonably thinking, correct?) So let's look a little closer at the steelers. Less than 6 weeks after last season ended the steelers had removed all three qb's from their roster(1 traded, the other 2 gone, they didn't want them back). So, I'll ask, how do you make the playoffs when by your own admission you don't have a quarterback??? Next area to look at is their offensive line which has been one of the worst in football these past 5 seasons. And, interesting enough, the steelers admitted so themselves last April by using 3 of their first 5 draft picks on offensive linemen. Onto receivers. Hahahahaha. The steelers have one nfl caliber receiver, the rest probably couldn't make the Colt practice squad.

Defensively the steelers are comprised of old, slow journeymen castoffs, in fact, the only steeler draft pick that gets any playing time at all in the secondary is Porter. Elliott, Fitzpatrick, Jackson, Kazzee, Killabrew, and Thompson all were acquired through trade or off-the-street-pickup. Wow, nice drafting of defensive backs these past 5 years!

Let's look at the solutions the steelers came up with for this season: quarterback, they were given Russel Wilson for nothing and gave up nothing for former first round draft pick Justin Fields, who had the worst winning percentage of all quarterbacks with at least 20 starts these past 3 years. So with those two acquisitions they DID NOT improve the qb position.(probably was a downgrade). Offensive line, their first pick is injured and the other 2 linemen they drafted aren't looking very good, they are still playing last years first round bust Broderick Jones at right tackle(maybe, last week in limited action he committed 3 penalties on one series). Journeymen James Daniels and Isaac Semoulo hold down the guard spots(think Matt Pryor). The steeler offensive line is still one of the best jokes in the league. Receivers, we cut 3 guys who are better than the what the steelers have on their roster.

Now it's time for the prediction. Histocally over these past 52 years we have won 5 games against the legendary Rooney franchise and even though they are currently putting on the field a roster that is just plain laughable I see a Rooney victory today.

One more point, how has Steichen suddenly forgot how to coach since that schellacking of the steelers last season as some of you on here claim?

Ryan Kelly is out. The rookie is starting. We have a young QB and a rookie center. Seems like it would be smarter to play Pinter.

Oof, yeah. That's going to suck bad.

Well, they know what they have with Pinter and may not like it or it could be another case of "just give him the snaps".

Basically throwing him out there to see if he can replace Kelly. You don’t do that if you’re trying to win games. I hope he plays well. Wisconsin linemen are usually pretty good so we will see.

If Tanor BortoliniI starts at center, I believe will do well.
