Amazon Football GIF by NFL On Prime

Tonight, your Indianapolis Colts play their final exhibition game before the real games begin a week later. They will play the Bengals on the road in Cincinnati.

What will you be looking for in this game? Do you expect any starters to play?

Let's hope there are no more injuries in this one. Enjoy it! :colts:

Yea well even if the Bengals starters aren’t playing I’m just happy our guys will get some more time on the field to gel together. Football is nearly back!

Maybe… we could have visitors from outside this planet come and take us over tomorrows Area 51 Aliens GIF by Sky HISTORY UK

I didn’t realize bengals were not playing starters so the Colts starters better look good.

Or what? I doubt the starters are highly motivated with adrenaline.

How can I watch the game? I don’t like all this steaming stuff!

If not in Indy, it's on Amazon Prime. I'm in Upstate NY...I have Prime so I can watch Yanks on Wednesdays and football on Thursdays.

I am treating this like any other preseason game. Won't get too excited if we look good, won't be crushed if we struggle.

Tonight, my hope is we see clear separations between players battling for the same spot on the 53.  Not because someone screws up, but because a player just balls out and everyone takes notice

Offense are going to HATE our racecar package, holy cow!

On 3rd down, pick the weakest tackle and put Latu there. It doesn’t matter what side, imo. He’s going to wreck guys that aren’t top tier.

Absolutely! Latu is going to take a man off of Buckner as well. They'll feast this season.

    • Kind of just furthers the idea that the Colts need more veterans over UDFA/Day 3 guys on rookie contracts for depth. The line was better because 2 guys (Pinter and Glowinski) they played both had at least 5 years of experience.    I hope this isn’t a one off thing either. This needs to be a thing every year with the Colts going forward at every position.
    • Does anyone know if our blitz rate is any good?  From the eye test it feels like we don't get home very often when we blitz.  I used to think we need to blitz more, but now I feel we need to more efficent when we do blitz.
    • Eberflus gave up a bunch of open catches also.   Leonard was a freak. His range, length, and instincts were on another level. The guys we have now are more physical tacklers, but the rest of the comparison would not be kind to them.
    • No doubt talent is a thing, and I think that point applies more directly to EJ Speed. But the other three are top tacklers whose miss rate is probably in line with other top tacklers in the league. So applying this to all four of them seems like it's stretching to make an indictment of a group of players, rather than identifying the specific players who are actually a problem.   And since LO (former poster here, btw) is calling out those four players for having 40% of the team's missed tackles, I think it's worth asking whether that percentage generally holds up around the league. It stands to reason that the highest volume tacklers on the team also have the most missed tackles on the team. So is the stat actually noteworthy? I don't know the answer, I'm asking a genuine question.   There's also the volume of plays against -- Colts are first at 873, which means even with an average rate of missed tackles, they'd be near the top of the league.    Again, I'm not trying to defend them, we miss too many tackles for sure. Just wondering what the point is, if there actually is one.    It also seems like he's using different missed tackle stats than you are. He might be using PFR, before they updated with Week 13 stats. If so, he left off Jaylon Jones, who now has 12 missed tackles.
    • I always liked Glowinski, even when he was ridiculed on this forum, I thought he played alright while with the Colts. Have to admit I was surprised when he struggled with the Giants. Glad his first game back with us was successful.
