I think it was reported that KC wasn't really asking that much for him and were being more than reasonable as far as trade compensation goes.  I also think when you pay $10.5m more in guarantees (I believe I saw a tweet that stated that) than any CB has received in the history of the NFL, it's tough to call it a steal though.  The Titans deemed it worth that. I have no doubt that the guaranteed money is what made the Colts walk away.

I can see it both ways but if you are risk averse, you can't win in this league. At some point, you have to take A RISK, not multiple ones, to swing a little and see how it works out.

Yeah, people instantly think taking one risky and expensive free agent move would look like cap room of Rams or Saints in their recent years. It doesn't have to be another extreme. 

 

As always, truth and the right position & standing lie somewhere in the middle :)
