Nine minutes of Richardson highlights

Recommended Posts

It’s only nine minutes of highlights, but you can see the raw talent and the boyish attitude of fearlessness. What thing we know for sure he has great arms strength and has a very strong body to withstand in the pocket. We know he can run. He’s blazing fast notice how often you saw Pierce passes from him in those four games he played in. Interestingly enough Pittman only had five touchdowns last last year, he had two or three in the first four games. I think we’re going to have a Houston type of season next year as long as he stays healthy and I think he’ll be a smarter quarterback next year too, regarding sliding or finishing a play with speed and not letting up.

A ton of highlights for such a small sample. Usually highlights don’t say much but considering the small sample size I think it’s pretty big

There is talent there for sure. Offense especially in the Redzone is leaps better when he is in at QB..

Dude just has to stay healthy. Time will tell

We were so good with 2 pt conversions I am like maybe we should just skip s yes points and go for two every time. It can’t be stopped. Then add JT next season. We were 75% in the red zone before Richardson had the shoulder injury.

Yeah I am excited to see our tight ends get more targets. Seeing how good Ogletree was here makes me really mad he was so stupid.

Let the legal stuff play out.  The Colts didn't cut him yet

Nine minutes of highlights. That should include almost every play.

He’s a big target just like Luck and it took Andrew a couple seasons to figure out that taking punishment was a bad long term career move. Hopefully AR and Steichen will figure the same thing out before Fall.

It's such a shame his season was cut short this season because he was showing so much promise for the little amount of time we had to watch him play in 2023. He was the one guy who needed to be on the field the most, gaining as much experience and playing time as possible to help his growth. I can't wait to see AR5 in 2024 though.

So excited to see this team next year, so long as we make the right moves around AR and the OL stays intact.

I think Pierce would have had a much more productive season with AR throwing the ball. He was so much more willing to take the deep shots that Minshew was. Minshew missed an open AP so many times this season, I feel like AR is making the throw to AP more often than Minshew did.

Jelani Woods coming back next season could be huge for this offense too. Dont sleep on him.

AR will have watched and learned a lot from being on the sideline this year, and considering how we all though he wouldnt be mentally ready and then he came out and played like he did, I think we can expect him to be even smarter with the ball next year. We could absolutely be a sleeping giant for next season. I think the defensive backfield absolutely needs addressing though.

We need to bring back Ogletree and put him in the NFL anger management classes and put his face on the "what not to do when your emotions get the best of you" posters.

All jest aside, I'm not sure why the NFL teams give up on these guys so quick these days. I get the PR hit, but back in the day, teams tried to help these guys. Like Dallas and Dez as example. Sometimes people screw up, but Kareem Hunt seems to have straightened himself out and up until KC found Pacheco, they had a rough time at that position. I'm kind of sad the Colts didn't try to help this kid other than kick him to the curb. Watching this tape, I forgot how much promise this guy actually had.

Bummer

They didn't kick him to the curb.  He is still on the team

We never replaced Jack Doyle. None of our TEs are explosive. We need a Travis Kelce, Zach Ertz, Kittle type of TE. What we have are backup TE who cannot stay healthy. Draft Brock Bowers. We need  proven vet WRs like the Jax did with Christian Kirk and Ridley. With Steichen's creativity we should be ok. Our OL needs depth because Ryan, Brad are unreliable/available and they are overpaid. Ballard need to open the check book or he will demoralize Steichen's staff. He needs to go all chips in.

While I don’t disagree. Looking at what Kelly and Smith are making and where they ended up performing this year, it’s pretty fair now. A couple years ago, yeah they overpaid. But Kelly was highest graded center for most of the season, Braden was 7th and never allowed a sack per Next Gen stats. You’re not going to find a FA that’s an upgrade that is cheaper.

It’s pretty impressive we have nine minutes with as little as he played.

Oh I know. I’m just toying, I’m not putting the kid down. I’m really excited to see what next year brings

Richardson has more and better highlights in 2 and a half games than half the league's QBs have in a full season.

I really really REALLY hope he can stay healthy, because I think he has the talent to be one of the best QBs in the league.

    • Here’s a fun exercise! Let’s go over a list of players who have signed, or re-signed here after actually hitting free agency (if top free agents don’t want to come here then surely they don’t stay after hitting FA, right?) and where they have ranked in those free agency classes from credible media outlets!    2012 (Per CBS Sports top 100) Reggie Wayne (Re-signed) -22 Cory Redding - 39 Samson Satele - 68 2013 (Per NFL[dot]com top 85) Gosder Cherilus - 46 LaRon Landry - 57 2014 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Hakeem Nicks - 22 Art Jones - 32 D’Qwell Jackson - 49 2015 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Andre Johnson - 20 Frank Gore - 29 Trent Cole - 31 Kendall Langford - 64   2016 (Per NFL[dot]com top 99) Patrick Robinson - 79   2017 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Jonathan Hankins - 11 Jabaal Sheard - 29 Jack Doyle (Re-signed) - 61 John Simon - 64 Darius Butler (Re-signed) - 100 Margus Hunt - 101   2018 (Per anyone and everyone) None   2019 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Justin Houston - 8 Devin Funchess - 45 Pierre Desir (Re-signed) - 46 Clayton Geathers (Re-signed) - 63 2020 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Philip Rivers - 11 Anthony Costanzo (Re-signed) - 12 2021 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) TY Hilton (Re-signed) - 33 Eric Fisher - 42 Xavier Rhodes - 53 Marlon Mack (Re-signed) - 79 Al-Quadin Muhammad (Re-signed) - 99 2022 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Stephon Gilmore - 12 2023 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Samson Ebukam - 58 Gardner Minshew - 95   2024 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Julian Blackmon (Re-signed) - 35 Kenny Moore (Re-signed) - 38 Grover Stewart (Re-signed) - 40   Regardless of how any of these signings actually worked out, it’s time to give the argument that top free agents won’t come here the old yeller treatment and bury it. It’s nonsense.
    • Because some are here to be right not support the Colts.
    • Huh?   Are you under the impression that a head coach — any head coach — approaches all 17 regular season games like a playoff game?   They don’t.      So I don’t care what Wash is doing with Daniels, they’re not the same player.  Daniels is far more experienced than AR, so how Wash uses JD is going to be different than how Steichen uses AR.     So my point is that Steichen can try to do both….   groom Richardson AND win games.  It doesn’t have to be one or the other.  It can be both.  Sorry we see this differently.
    • Because we have a GM who won’t really attempt to do business.    Ryan Grigson didn’t have a problem landing free agents.   Andre Johnson was a superstar when he came here. We didn’t know he was washed up until after he got here and he got out on the field.    Does the name “Frank Gore” ring a bell? At all? He’s only a hall of fame player, so maybe you’ve never heard of him.   Corey Redding signed here late in his career, and he helped get Pagano’s 3-4 off the ground.    Mike Adams came here and promptly made a pair of pro-bowls.    Gosder Cherilus was considered one of the best right tackles in the league when he signed here, despite how it turned out.    Ahmad Bradshaw came here before injuries derailed his career for good.    LaRon Landry was a heavily sought after free agent, and chose to come here to make the bank to buy his juice.    Erik Walden came here and far exceeded the deal he was on.    Art Jones had a lot of interest around the league when he signed here before injuries and getting hooked up with LaRon Landry’s juice dealer got in the way.   D’qwell Jackson signed here after being one of the league’s leading tacklers for the Browns and made a pro bowl that same year.    Hakeem Nicks signed here after starting a winning Super Bowl for the Giants and having a 1K+ yards and 10+ TD season. He had multiple 1K yard seasons under his belt on arrival.    What about trades? Vontae Davis came here in a trade. Glaze over it with the benefit of hindsight all you want, but Trent Richardson was 1 year removed from being the 3rd overall pick, and had put up 1K yards rushing as a rookie when he landed in town.     Hell, even Ballard has been able to land some high quality free agents when he’s actually been willing to make a deal. Philip Rivers and Stephon Gilmore didn’t wind up here because the league told them they had to be here.    The facts that these free agents all signed here aren’t untrue simply because you either don’t remember them, or just flat out don’t know them. Luckily someone writes these signings down somewhere for the sake of posterity, so we can look back on those official records and prove that they did in fact happen, despite the claims to the contrary.
