I was hoping Jim would stay in college, I didn’t want us fans to deal with the drama that comes from him. He also still has pending issues with the NCAA which I’ve heard the league may choose to enforce against him should he be punished further.

Ehh.   they didn't do anything to "Pete the Cheat".  Doubt they do anything to Harbaugh.    He's good for the league IMO

Respect your opinion. The league is much more strict these days and they clearly want to send a message…so if the NCAA were to punish him I do believe the league would cooperate in following suit to some degree to ensure he pays his penalty whatever that may be…fines/suspensions/all of the above. I don’t think he’s necessarily good for the league but I hope I am wrong.

In other news when will the falcons announce the hiring of BB?? Seems like it will be any day IMO…assuming they are just hammering out details regarding contract and control that BB wants.

Guess the title of Frank's book.

Climbing the mountain... How to get rich by digging out of a huge hole, year after year..

lol Love Frank as a person...but as a coach, he is too afraid or unwilling to fit his scheme to his players. He is the personification of square peg /round hole, as a coach.

With a QB like Herbert and the speed they have on defense, Harbaugh will have the Chargers at 9-8 in his 1st season IMO. I am still not sold on Herbert being great, but he is good, Harbaugh may be able to get Herbert to play at a great level.

Yeah, think about this - you have 3 coaches who have been to SBs and 2 that have won SBs in Andy Reid, Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh all in 1 division.

AFC West became just as tough as the AFC North where you have the same situation - both Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh have won SBs while Zac Taylor has been to a SB.

Falcons have interviewed both Belichick and Vrabel, surprised how things turned out there. I think Vrabel would do well with the Commanders, IMO. Very winnable division and they will get the 2nd best QB in the draft. IMO, it can be turned around faster in the NFC East just like the NFC South

Looking like Slowik might be staying in Houston. Commanders and Seahawks are the only ones left.

Word is Mike Vrabel is going to bring Arthur Smith with him as OC based on their Titans days together, wherever he lands as HC.

Apparently, Ben Johnson, OC Of Lions, is a strong front runner for HC of Commanders, according to the reliable messenger :) Boomer Esiason (j/k):

This also means Chiefs will probably get Eric Bieniemy back as OC.

The Chiefs have an OC.

Ben Johnson to the Seahawks??

I know I wanted it, so I could go 0-6 and get fired on a 3 year 21-million-dollar deal. Retire for life after coaching 6 games and getting fired, and kick back drinking Crown Royals pulp fiction drinking GIF.

You should've applied for the job.

If you're good at throwing beer at a Jaguars fan, you're hired, I heard!

Job applications seldom come with easier expectations.

Where is BB and Vrabel going?

I still think the Commanders will be the place one of them will go. Belichick might be long in the tooth for some GMs because his former coaching staff folks haven't done well at other places and at this point in his career, GMs are looking for more offensive minded guys over defensive minded ones as a ratio, and younger ones too.

Greater chance Vrabel gets hired with Arthur Smith as OC than Belichick, IMO. It is time for Belichick to hang it up.

I guess no one wants the panthers job lol.

I mean, can you blame them? If what is being reported about Tepper is true he's a cancer. No one should want to deal with that.

I'm surprised that the Panthers owner would sign a head coach with no head coaching experience to a six-year deal, given the owner's penchant for impulsively firing coaches.

All the best to Dave Canales. I hope the owner can show some.patience and self-control and allow his football people to do their jobs.

@HOZERDo you know Dave Canales? You and he have something in common. :D

The AFC is going to be packed with talented, competitive teams. I heard that the Chargers may hire Joe Hortiz as GM! That is who I wanted the Vikings to hire two years ago. I love those the Ravens personnel staff and Hortiz is one of them. You combine Herbert with Jim Harbaugh and Hortiz -- that will be a winning combination.

I'm disappointed that the Vikes had not hired Hortiz.

Honestly had not heard about him until now, seems like a promising young coach if he was able to help Mayfield turn it around. He doesn’t look old enough to have been in the league as long as he has, crazy! Wonder what Riverboat Ron thinks of him?

Cowboys, especially Prescott-Lamb, did very well after he left.

Moore must have had the best transition from undrafted player in '12 to finishing NFL career as player in '17 to becoming OC for three different teams with 5 years of coordinator experience by the end of '24.

He's holding out for Mike McCarthy or Nick Sirianni to be fired, not impressed by Commanders or Seahawks job, I guess.

Good for Lions and their supporters on this forum, like @2006Coltsbestever and @JoeyBlueSkies

Don't know about the other, but @2006Coltsbestever must be excited 😆

Browns are hiring Ken Dorsey as OC.

He didn't utilize run game well with Bills, and he's going to a run first offense. Maybe, they want his passing concepts installed and Stefanski could enforce lot of runs still.

I wonder who will coach the Commanders and Seahawks. Bieniemy improved the Commanders' offense and the Chiefs' offense seemed to struggle at times this year. One would think Bieniemy had some part in the Chiefs offense. But Washington is not even considering him..

    • Here’s a fun exercise! Let’s go over a list of players who have signed, or re-signed here after actually hitting free agency (if top free agents don’t want to come here then surely they don’t stay after hitting FA, right?) and where they have ranked in those free agency classes from credible media outlets!    2012 (Per CBS Sports top 100) Reggie Wayne (Re-signed) -22 Cory Redding - 39 Samson Satele - 68 2013 (Per NFL[dot]com top 85) Gosder Cherilus - 46 LaRon Landry - 57 2014 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Hakeem Nicks - 22 Art Jones - 32 D’Qwell Jackson - 49 2015 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Andre Johnson - 20 Frank Gore - 29 Trent Cole - 31 Kendall Langford - 64   2016 (Per NFL[dot]com top 99) Patrick Robinson - 79   2017 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Jonathan Hankins - 11 Jabaal Sheard - 29 Jack Doyle (Re-signed) - 61 John Simon - 64 Darius Butler (Re-signed) - 100 Margus Hunt - 101   2018 (Per anyone and everyone) None   2019 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Justin Houston - 8 Devin Funchess - 45 Pierre Desir (Re-signed) - 46 Clayton Geathers (Re-signed) - 63 2020 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Philip Rivers - 11 Anthony Costanzo (Re-signed) - 12 2021 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) TY Hilton (Re-signed) - 33 Eric Fisher - 42 Xavier Rhodes - 53 Marlon Mack (Re-signed) - 79 Al-Quadin Muhammad (Re-signed) - 99 2022 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Stephon Gilmore - 12 2023 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Samson Ebukam - 58 Gardner Minshew - 95   2024 (Per NFL[dot]com top 101) Julian Blackmon (Re-signed) - 35 Kenny Moore (Re-signed) - 38 Grover Stewart (Re-signed) - 40   Regardless of how any of these signings actually worked out, it’s time to give the argument that top free agents won’t come here the old yeller treatment and bury it. It’s nonsense.
    • Because some are here to be right not support the Colts.
    • Huh?   Are you under the impression that a head coach — any head coach — approaches all 17 regular season games like a playoff game?   They don’t.      So I don’t care what Wash is doing with Daniels, they’re not the same player.  Daniels is far more experienced than AR, so how Wash uses JD is going to be different than how Steichen uses AR.     So my point is that Steichen can try to do both….   groom Richardson AND win games.  It doesn’t have to be one or the other.  It can be both.  Sorry we see this differently.
    • Because we have a GM who won’t really attempt to do business.    Ryan Grigson didn’t have a problem landing free agents.   Andre Johnson was a superstar when he came here. We didn’t know he was washed up until after he got here and he got out on the field.    Does the name “Frank Gore” ring a bell? At all? He’s only a hall of fame player, so maybe you’ve never heard of him.   Corey Redding signed here late in his career, and he helped get Pagano’s 3-4 off the ground.    Mike Adams came here and promptly made a pair of pro-bowls.    Gosder Cherilus was considered one of the best right tackles in the league when he signed here, despite how it turned out.    Ahmad Bradshaw came here before injuries derailed his career for good.    LaRon Landry was a heavily sought after free agent, and chose to come here to make the bank to buy his juice.    Erik Walden came here and far exceeded the deal he was on.    Art Jones had a lot of interest around the league when he signed here before injuries and getting hooked up with LaRon Landry’s juice dealer got in the way.   D’qwell Jackson signed here after being one of the league’s leading tacklers for the Browns and made a pro bowl that same year.    Hakeem Nicks signed here after starting a winning Super Bowl for the Giants and having a 1K+ yards and 10+ TD season. He had multiple 1K yard seasons under his belt on arrival.    What about trades? Vontae Davis came here in a trade. Glaze over it with the benefit of hindsight all you want, but Trent Richardson was 1 year removed from being the 3rd overall pick, and had put up 1K yards rushing as a rookie when he landed in town.     Hell, even Ballard has been able to land some high quality free agents when he’s actually been willing to make a deal. Philip Rivers and Stephon Gilmore didn’t wind up here because the league told them they had to be here.    The facts that these free agents all signed here aren’t untrue simply because you either don’t remember them, or just flat out don’t know them. Luckily someone writes these signings down somewhere for the sake of posterity, so we can look back on those official records and prove that they did in fact happen, despite the claims to the contrary.
