I remember when Baker Mayfield was a draft prospect and there was a lot of talk about whoever drafted him needing to make sure to prioritize scheming out of pocket launch points to help minimize his height being an issue with passing down the middle of the field. Young probably could benefit from that. Minshew too to be honest...

Mayfield also had one of the fastest ball velocity tests at 6’0. 58mph I think.   So he can get the ball where it needs to be when throwing on the move.

I think it was @csmoparwho said that this past draft's QB analysis by the pundits was just really bad.

I think they fell in love with whichever QBs projected to look the most like Mahomes and simply ignored some basic stuff.

I agree. Which is why I think a guy like who the raiders got at QB is gonna work out longer, better. With the right coach of course

That was like watching paint dry. If panthers made the offense look like that I can’t imagine what pats d will do. Their defense is actually good.

The Panthers have an overall good defense. They've lost due to their abysmal offense more than anything this year. The Colts didn't look too hot offensively, but we also didn't pass the ball too much considering we had a lead through most of the games. Even the best teams have ugly wins from time to time, and I far rather win ugly then lose while scoring big (which has primarly been the case in the last three weeks)

I will give you that. I think they knew panthers were not going to score much so they played it safe so we didn’t turn it over and give them free points.

The running offense was very pedestrian.  Just straight ahead stuff most of the game.  Probably hoping JT would break one.  Have to get a little more creative there.  Need to run wide more imo.

Steichen has not been very creative in play calling and it is hurting the pass and run. Especially second half.

Good:

-Kenny Moore…that’s the quote

-No Minshew turnovers

-He’s got work to do in coverage, but Jones as a physical corner is playing great. Like Brent’s, he lays the wood as a tackler and I love him getting in the receivers face after plays.

-Odeyingbo has turned into a solid depth pass rusher

Bad:

-2nd half offense was awful. Won’t beat every team taking your foot off the gas like that

-Are you guys with me on the Pittman train yet? We saw that Downs has been carrying this receiver core. Even with him out Pittman couldn’t break out

-Leonard: He had 10 tackles but no splash plays again. Almost every LB we play looks as good or better than him.

-Safety play was again awful, but today their lack of speed to close showed.

-Bradley needs to go. Playing in a soft zone all game to not give up the big play, only to consistently get beat deep is concerning. 2nd game in a row this has happened and he’s lucky Kenny bailed us out twice.

Takeaway: Ugly win that the defense carried us to by scoring two touchdowns. Receivers and speed in the 2nd and 3rd levels of the defense are still big concerns going forward. This team needs a healthy Josh Downs asap. Bradley continues to be a let down.

Loved Kenny Moore today! Great moment for him. It was a fun game for that reason. Other than that, it was a pitiful win. The offense looked pathetic without Josh Downs. Unfortunately, this win is going to hurt draft seeding, and the performance today did nothing to convince me that this team is anything that resembles a contender.

Next weeks win is really going to hurt our position too. I love it The Simpsons GIF by KiwiGo (KGO)- screw this tank garbage.

So does every other team but one every year. I'm happy to see a better overall team this year, even with the starting QB down.

I get it.  I was just reacting to the achievement of equalling last years win total.  It was sarcasm.

27 yards is pathetic

People * and moaned for us to run more and not lean on Minshew so much and that’s what we did. Despite the fact they were stuffing the box and blitzing the hell out of Minshew.  We got a few first downs in there and thankfully Moore’s heroics and some pressure on their QB who couldn’t handle it (which is why we should have blitzed all game  long). But Minshew is not a guy who can beat the blitz like upper eschelon QBs . 67 yards was foreseeable.

What's up my friend, hope all is well. Yeah, we were up 17 so at that point we were playing it safe, avoiding any chance at Turnovers and just running the clock. Hence the 27 yards.

Watched the game at the casino today. Bought a brand new complete in-box sega genesis today at the flea market, and decided to go the casino to see if I could make the money back. Ended up winning $100 and making it back + $20. It was fun to watch Kenny Moore and I love those moments, but the offense was frustrating to watch.

This game just proves why I was right that I wanted to watch Richardson and not Minshew at QB and complained about it so much.

The Good

  • Moore! What a game he had!
  • DeFo had a good game.
  • Leonard led the team in tackles. Not his former maniac level with the turnovers, but good.
  • Blackmon had some pretty good actions on a couple of run plays.
  • JT had some good plays on offense, but beyond that…

The Bad

  • … the offense was really bad. We SO needed Downs.
  • I hate our prevent defense with a passion.
  • Baker is still a liability even if he didn’t get picked on as much today.

Oh i missed it.  What happend to Downs??

    • Once again running out time to put out a complete list of both offense and defensive players and where I have them ranked among their peers.  Common theme from original pre-college Week 1 many of the top players are not even listed or have fallen sharply after around 4 weeks of playing.    2025 NFL Draft QBs Cam Ward - Miami (FL) - Ward’s 3x300 games in a row have earned him 3-straight 90.0+ passing grades.  Jaxson Dart (MISS)  Diego Pavia (Vandy) - after 4 weeks and is R2 in the SEC ahead of Ewers, Manning, Milroe, Nussmeier, and Carson Beck.  Thrown 6 TDs no INTs, recovered 3 teammate fumbles. Ben Wooldridge (Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns) Noah Fiftia (Arizona)  KJ Jefferson (UCF) Tyler Shough (Louisville)  Cam Miller (NDST) Kyle McCord (Syracuse)   2025 NFL Draft OL LG Michael McAninch (Air Force) - After 3 weeks has a 91.7 overall season grade with a 92.4 RB grade.  Proved he can hold up to Baylor didn’t allow any QB pressure. RT Tyler Needham (Rutgers) 6’4” 306-pounds – After 3 weeks been dominant.  On 48 PB snaps only given up 1 QB hurry. LT/RT/OG Grey Zabel (North Dakota State) RT Lucas Scott (Army) 6’3” 305-pounds – After 3 weeks has an 85.2 RB grade.  Figure the Army trains more hand-to-hand combat and could be decent in PB game as well. LG Joshua Gray (Oregon State) LG Donovan Jackson (OSU) - good to see Jackson play again and display his dominance in his return to action. OT Wyatt Milum (West Virginia) RG Luke Kandra (Cincinnati) RG Tate Ratledge (Georgia LT Kelvin Banks Jr (Texas) LG Dylan Fairchild (Georgia) LT Percy Lewis (Auburn) 6’7” 355-pounds – After 4 weeks on 85 snaps has a 78.5 grade as a backup. OC Jake Slaughter (Florida) LT Josh Simmons (OSU)   2025 NFL Draft RBs RB/WR-KR Brashard Smith (Southern Methodist) 5’10” 196 pounds - Smith already has 17 missed tackles, 3rd most among all college RBs. RB Ashton Jeanty (Boise St) 5’9” 215-pounds  RB Quinshon Judkins (OSU) 6’0 219-pounds RB Jonah Coleman (Washington) RB RJ Harvey (UCF) 5’9” 208-pounds RB Ja’Quinden Jackson (Arkansas) 6’2” 233-pounds – Issues fumbling RB Treveyon Henderson (OSU) 5’10” 208 pounds RB Devin Neal (Kansas) 5’11” 215 pounds RB Omarion Hampton (UNC) 6’0” 220 pounds RB Nicholas Singleton (PSU) 6’0” 227 pounds RB Jo’Quavious “Woody” Marks (USC) 5’10 208-pounds   2025 NFL Draft WRs WR-Z Tai Felton (Maryland) WR-X Tre Harris (Mississippi) WR-X Ricky White (UNLV) WR-SL Nick Nash (San Jose State) WR-X Tetairoa McMillian (Arizona) WR-Z Kobe Hudson (UCF) WR-SL Kaedin Robinson (App St) WR-SL Xavier Restrepo Miami (FL) WR-X Andrew Armstrong (Arkansas) WR-M/ST PR-KR Jaylin Noel (Iowa St) WR-X Jayden Higgins (Iowa St) WR-Y Emeka Egbuka (OSU)   2025 NFL Draft TE TE Harold Fannin Jr. (Bowling Green) - outproduced rest of TE class against top 25 ranked teams and single-handedly beat PSU.  Prior to week 4 R1 I total yards (204) and YAC with 131. TE Tyler Warren (PSU) TE Jalin Conyers (Texas Tech) - After 3 weeks has an 83.7 overall PFF grade and with Texas Tech excelling in run-blocking. TE Brant Kuithe (Utah) TE/WR Oronde Gadsden II (Syracuse) TE Colston Loveland (Michigan) TE Terrance Ferguson (Oregon) TE Jake Briningstool (Clemson)
