Special teams

Take away Matt Gay's history setting performance (which was awesome) they were a mixed bag allowing another ALMOST late game turning long punt return like in the Jags game. I know it's early but it's something to keep an eye on. Also the decision late in the game by our returner to call for a fair catch then allow the ball to bounce nearly 15 yds in which the Ravens were able to down the ball around the 2 yd line putting the offense in a bad spot that eventually led to a safety. Bubba's loss as stc is showing early but hopefully the Colts can button these fundamental things up.

Ringo seemed to punt better today so that's promising coming off the Achilles tear from last season because he looked shakey in training camp and in the home opener against the Jags. Ringo also showed progress last week in Houston so I think he'll be fine moving forward. Again great team win as we sit ALONE atop the division!!! Go Colts.

Worth noting they got fair catch situation fixed.  The Ravens punted later and the Colts fair caught it at the 11.  Still a costly mistake but at least they adjusted it in game.  Ironically two special teams mistakes by the Ravens helped the Colts win by fair catching the punt after the safety rather than running around for a couple of seconds to get inside the two minute warning and the rare short kick by Tucker at then end.

There is never a time you don't catch the ball at the 14 yard line there. McKenzie looks scared when anyone gets near him. I know he fumbled a bunch of punts in Buffalo and it's clear he is still not comfortable. If they don't replace him, it will come back to cost us. He's decent on returns (when he catches it and has some room) but he is not comfortable catching it and that is the most important thing for a punt returner.

He is a ticking time bomb back there. Only a matter of time.

Sanchez looks like he's been body snatched. He was possibly the worst punter in the league, easily bottom 5, in the first two weeks. He was better today but still not good and a really bad punt at the end that almost cost us the game. I hope he is still just working out some kinks, post injury.

Outside of Matt Gay, Colts special teams has been atrocious.

Saw a quote from him that the ball had a weird spin/something with the ball, he was more worried he was going to drop it. Why he let it go. A muff wouldve been the worst thing there so at least better than the alternative

Torn achilles for a punter/kicker is a major thing, it will take sometime to restrengthen it for in game kicking, he slowly getting back to it, hopefully similar to Leonard where it will take a few to get that back

His leg looks to have lost some power.
