How did you know the Allen pick?

Maybe you should change your name to the RealAustinCollie?

I just had a feeling that we would go double TE.

Nick Jean-Baptiste is still on the board. Chase Minnifield is still there. Alfonzo Dennard and Leonard Johnson are all possible CBs

Josh Chapman - Good pick in the 5th round. He can start immediately at NT (assuming knee is good) and clog up the middle. Leave the pass rushing to others but we now have someone that is strictly a run stopper. GO COLTS!

good deal (if he is healthy, but with his big frame how can that knee and bearing that weight be healthy)

I've really liked our draft until this pick......very bad when Dennard is on the board. He must have some character issues or something because he was the obvious pick here considering our need at CB. This one hurts. Ballard I do not like at all, I mean if were gonna take a RB we could have at least taken a good one. This guy is slow and and doesnt run with a ton of power. NFL LB's will take him down easy. He's a between the tackles runner whos big, but lacks power. Just ish.

I don't know. Seems like a good kid. We researched Cyrus Gray and passed him up for Ballard.

Why is he so bad. Bad 40 time or something?

    • I don't think they would be the laughing stock of the league at 8-8. 2 years ago they were -16.  3 years ago they were 1-15. They are extremely stacked and have a QB who seems like the real deal.   They could win 10-14 games this season.   The Hunt signing was genius.
    • I also think it is time for the Lions fans to back off.   But to be fair, in his time in Detroit, he took several jabs at fans that called him out for his horrible play on the field.
    • Great stuff as usual, @stitches. Ballard is building a team as I like it, through the draft and without overly spending in free agency. I've never been a fan of spending on free agents outside the organization.    Anyhow, other teams' fans want their favorite teams to emulate what the Colts have done. The Jets SB Nation site has a good piece on how Ballard has built the Colts. One area the writer mentions is the value that Ballard has placed on second round picks. I thought it was a good read.    https://www.ganggreennation.com/2019/5/21/18631702/the-colts-provide-the-jets-with-a-great-model-to-turn-things-around
    • Well, it is not just about running more, it's about running effectively.  If the Colts have to get 2-3 yards in order to get a first down and they are able to do that by running the football.  Then they will have the opponent on their heels and the offense as a whole will be more effective.     I agree that you take what the defense gives you, but I would bet that if the Colts were able to consistently have runs of 6+ yards, the defense would try to stack the box, even against Luck.
