Colts 2023 Breakout Player

Is there a player on this team you guys think will have a breakout year? Besides any of the rookies though. Last season I thought Franklin was that player for us. He ended up setting the franchise record for tackles in a season and was great as the captain of the defense. It was his best year to date.

This year my vote would be for Bernard Raiman. He actually got better as the season went on after Saturday got to work with him. I think another full offseason is going to take his game to the next level. I think he’ll grade out as a top 12 OT when it’s all said and done.

I will be looking at the receiving group for someone to brakeout or make a big step forward in development. Alec Pierce may get some deep throws that none of the QBs had the arm to throw last year. Jelani Woods I would love to see get more catches and brake out being a big target, Philly did love using their TEs. On the Defensive side I’m looking at Nick Cross and Dayo to possibly breakout. I think with the lack of depth at CB we will see a lot more Safeties being used and Thomas, Blackmon, and Cross all being on the field together. As for CB I pray Dallas Flowers brakes out.

Zack Moss in the backup running back role

Rodney Thomas proves rookie year wasnt a fluke establishes himself as a starting safety in this league.

He was really a surprise that didn't get much hype due to what happened with our season. His production as a rookie from a 7th rounder was phenomenal. Love his instincts.

I don't know about breakout year, but I'm hoping a lot of our young guys take a least one step up the production ladder.

Pittman

Kwity

Dayo

Blackmon

Pierce

Woods

Raimann

While I hope for improvement from Pittman, Pierce and Woods I'm doubtful we'll see it this year with our QB situation being what it is.

I don't think any WR or TE can exceed with a developmental QB.  I think the breakout player will have to come from the D or ST.  The D is going to get a lot of chances and be on the field a lot and someone is going to have a lot of tackle stats.  I think Taylor will get a ton of touches but teams are going to be stacking the box with a rookie QB so I am not thinking he is going to have a monster yr.

I think we'll be punting and kicking lots of FGs so it could be one of the specialists too.
