That have the best chance of making their 1st Pro Bowl this year.

https://coltswire.usatoday.com/lists/indianapolis-colts-pro-bowl-candidates-potential-first-time-2023/

Idea from this article.

Their order:

1. Pittman Jr

2. Grover

3. Pierce

4. Franklin

5. Richardson

6. Braden Smith

7. Blackmon

8. Rodgers

9. Brents

10. Kwity

My list would be the following:

1. Rodgers

2. Grover

3. Pittman

4. Smith

5. Kwity

6. Richardson

7. Franklin

8. Brents

9. Pierce

10. Blackmon

Really outside of  Rodgers and Grover, I don't think any of those other guys have much a chance.

Rodgers could have breakout year if he stays healthy.

Grover is just solid, but he will need to be a 3 down guy.

What does everyone think?

Who cares?

At least something to discuss in the off-season?

What's your ranking?

The Pro Bowl has always been political, and year after year, the same players, deserving or not, seem to always get selected.... But, if Franklin stays healthy, and plays in almost every game, I believe he could lead the league in tackles, which would bode well for him making the team. Although perhaps, as an alternate.

Bradley is trying to replace Rodgers. He prefers taller more physical CBs. Thats why they drafted 3 of them.

Or we keep him and get rid of Kenny.  Rodgers play is pretty good.  No need to release him.

I don't think Bradley is trying to replace Rodgers.

He did take to long last year to go to him, while playing his guy Faycson. I think he learned his lesson though.

Rodgers was one of the top rated PFF corners last season. Sky is the limit as long as he can stay healthy.

As far as the (3) we drafted, that was just needed. We needed some depth and competition. I really like all (3) of those guys.

I don’t think anyone other than Rodgers and Grover have a shot at it. That said the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest, so they’ll have to play at an all world level to get noticed and topple the “regulars” to get a shot.

I don’t care much for the Pro Bowl…

The Pro Bowl ended in  2016 when it left Honolulu.

Yeah I tend to lean towards Rodgers being my #1 as well. Pittman could make it, he caught 99 balls last season. It depends on our QB play. He and AR may be a hell of a combo. If Minshew plays a few games, I am sure he will try and feed Pittman the ball as well.

My sleeper is Kwity. I think he could have a break out year and double digit sacks if we are playing well most of the season.

I will just a list a top 5:

1. Rodgers

2. Pittman

3. Grover

4. Kwity

5. Richardson for craps and giggles

-Franklin maybe??

Maybe the real question is

which Pro Bowlers from last year are on the downswing and could be replaced?

I couldn’t tell you who played flag football last year but

QB loaded

WR loaded and tough to see any of ours in a new offense with a back up or rookie starting surpass anyone

TE loaded

Franklin had a great year but not in last year does the great year move him up in the eyes of his peers

I have no idea about CB DL DE OL LB

As 1959 Colts said popularity maybe be the toughest thing to overcome

You made me Google if Buckner is still in the team.

Why is he missing in the list?

Coz he'd be an all-pro?

He has made a Pro Bowl.

This is players that haven't made PB, and who has the best chance of getting their 1st.

I don't think it's political but it's a popularity contest.

If Darius Leonard has been healthy so far, he'd have made Pro Bowl every single year because he was Rookie Defensive Player of the year once, and everyone remembers that whether he continues to play at that level or not.

Vikings' Anthony Barr got repeated Pro Bowl selections despite not doing much worthy to be a top player in the league just because he was popular in college football and was top 10 draft pick.

That's how it goes, it is tough for guys who play key roles in teams to be taken notice at the national level.

And, there could only be so many players invited for Pro Bowl.

I truly quit caring about the pro bowl when they quit going to Honolulu.  At least the pro  bowl players from the super bowl teams got to play in it. It was also a break for all the NFL fans to see the players and their families taking in Hawaii. Quite the change in scenery compared to shoveling snow and wishing you were in Honolulu partying.  :sip:

Yep, my first thought was Franklin.  But if Leonard comes back, he'll probably make it because of name.

I'll go with Paye if i had to bet on it.

Not on your list and maybe a darkhorse but I think Dayo is going to light it up this year.   Just depends on the amount of snaps he gets.

I think I'll narrow the list down to my top 5:

1.  Grover Stewart

2.  Zaire Franklin

3.  Michael Pittman Jr

4.  Alec Pierce

5.  Anthony Richardson (IF he starts the season as QB1 - he's more of a possibility than a probability)
