Panthers having Dinner w/Will Levis

Recommended Posts

Are the Panthers just trying to throw off the scent, or is the Frank Reich influence taking over the FO and Ownership Group in Carolina????? They are having (Or have had already) dinner with Will Levis......it would be such a FR move to request to draft Will Levis number one overall..............makes me think of the movie "Draft Day"! LOL

They are going to do their due diligence just like any team. Not a big deal at all.

I mean sure, but they have the number one pick and he’s widely considered to be the 3rd (at best), 4th or maybe even the 5th best QB in the draft.

There’s nothing guaranteed in the draft, Levi’s could be the best of the bunch? Who knows????

You are right, who knows? It could be the owner just wanting to meet all options? It's not like funds are lacking? haha

Not a fan of Levis in RD 1 at all.  Watching his Pro Day, his release point is below his ear.  Which more or less makes him a 6'0 QB with very little elite game film. If we are going QB, and Stroud or Young is not available, then;

1. Anderson

2. Trade Back

3. Richardson (at pick 6-12)

You and other “experts” claim he isnt the top guy. Doesn’t make that fact at all. “Experts” said Mahomes was a gimmick QB with a limited future. They said Baker Mayfield would be a surprise top pick because during the draft process he checked all the boxes. Don’t really see those boxes being checked anymore.

If Stroud and Young are gone.....

I would take 1) Anderson or 2) Carter

Anderson is being talked about as a generational DE

Carter was believed by some to be the top player in this draft before his stupid mistake

He is a just a kid..... I wonder how many of us might make the same mistake at that age

A DT that can get pressure up the middle is a game changer

After that.....  THEN we have options

Option 1 - Take Hooker in late Round 1 (Need to get the 5th year option) trade into

OR

Option 2 -  Sign Lamar to an offer sheet (this is risky)

Option 2 is better for the Colts, because with Lamar, the Colts should win 10 games this year

This will cause at least the first round pick in 2024 to be later in round one and less valuable

But think about it. With Levis OR Richardson, we arent sniffing 10 wins. But Lamar is legit

Overall

Top 5 picks are both WAY TOO EARLY for both Levis and Richardson, and is a clear almost extreme reach on both.

We cant throw out BPA at this early

AND.....  if we lock down Lamar, dont make him run so much.  It will help keep him upright and healthy

They've hinted at bing willing to trade down if they liked multiple guys... You therefore make darn sure you know everything about all the guys.
