Raider owner being patient...which I must admit in general is a smart move: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35027307/josh-mcdaniels-raiders-building-slow-painful-process

The owner has no other choice. He wanted McDaniels and now has to try and make it work for at least another year.

The owner looks bad for replacing Bisaccia who did a brilliant job after Gruden was replaced.

You are correct. Bisaccia deserved to be named the head coach. The players loved him and played hard for him.

From an outsider looking in its looks like most of the Raider players don't seem to interested.

Agree with Mark Davis to some extent. When did it become normal to fire people so early? I remember a few years ago it was quite a shock for the Browns to fire their head coach after only 1 year. Now we are wanting to fire people before they have even coached an entire season? This is getting ridiculous.

Sometimes it doesn't take a season to figure out a mistake has been made.

Yea as unfortunate as their record is I think dumping a coach less than 2 years into a contract is a mistake…unless they are Urban Meyer-esque and create a bad environment around the team.

But I still think McDanfool is still a bad HC no matter how you spin it. He’s no BB that’s for sure…not even close.

both Patricia and McDanfool have sucked outside NE…definitely tells you who the real impact coach is over there.

With very rare exception, yeah it does. At least. Building an NFL winner is very hard and very complex.

Not if it's apparent the chemistry is not there. In the Raiders situation they were over rated at the beginning of the season.  They wouldn't have made the playoffs last year had it not been the collapse of the Colts.

It does seem a bit premature to be thinking he should be fired.

I hope he continues to coach the Raiders and they continue with this stellar performance for a few years!

Something to be thankful for - Colts fans!!

Josh McDaniels is NOT our head coach!!

He took a playoff team with a quality offense AND defense - added a LOT of new talent over the offseason - and - the team STINKS!!

Once again the "Bill Belichick coaching tree" candidate isn't living up to expectations (2nd time).  Very very very few of "Belichick's disciples" perform well as head coaches.

Mark Davis is still paying Gruden isn't he? Something like that? I don't think any team wants to be paying three coaches. But I also think it takes at least a couple of years before you can say it's an abject failure.

We're finding out that Belichick is basically a .500 coach without Tom Brady. So I think his "coaching tree" will be viewed differently in the not-so-distant future.

I'm not a fan of BB but he continues to have his teams prepared and winning despite a lack of top talent on the team. Besides Matt Judon, Kyle Duggar, and Devin McCourty, who do they have? I know that one of their guards is having a good year and Matt Jones is pretty good, but seriously, what top tier players do they have?

EDGE Deatrich Wise Jr. is having an elite season. CB Jonathan Jones, S Adrian Phillips are having great season. Lbs Josh Uche, Anfernee Jennings, Mack Wilson and Jahlani Tavai are having career resurgence. CB Jack Jones (4th round rookie) is having elite year in such a quick time. Safeties Jabrill Peppers and Kyle Dugger are doing great.

I think Patriots are second to none (maybe Ravens) in developing players on defense. Many of these players are lesser known players from other teams taken for cheap or later round draft choices, and turned around into quality starters.

I think that, along with having Tom Brady to take care of the offense, helped them win many Super Bowls.

It may be true Belichick struggles without quality QB play, but Brady also needs good defense and all around unit around him to stay above 0.500 now. People easily discredit either of them, but winning multiple SBs is a team effort including coaches. It just doesn't happen because of Brady or Belichick alone.

If their defense is that good, they will destroy Cousins and the OL. BB is a defensive genius.

Our CBs are all injured -- "Tiny" Dantzler, Evans, and Booth are all out. Booth has been so bad that it may be good that he is out. We will miss Evans who has had a surprisingly good year. The DL will have to get pressure on Mack Jones.

I think this is true about most coaches.  Is is not easy to win in the NFL without a true franchise QB.

I do agree though that he usually has his teams ready to compete.

Eccentricity often runs in the minds of talented people. This often leads to drug or alcohol abuse. But, there is always the chance that he is just a pain in the butt. You get to choose.

Defensively they're up-and-down... we saw that Thanksgiving night. There were times when it looked like the VIkings could just do whatever they wanted on offense. I don't know if it's an issue with talent, at least on D. They have a solid front seven and the secondary doesn't have any true stars but works well as a unit. I really like Dugger.

On offense, BB's drafting has hurt the team. First round picks like Sony Michel, N'Keal Harry, etc. He doesn't seem to have a knack for the skill position players. Brady helps you cover a lot of weaknesses on offense.
