gspdx
First - for me being the man means he becomes a top 10 nfl QB. Odds are against it. I would love to see it happen, but I voted no just based on the odds.

Dark Superman
Honestly, Frank Reich and the offensive line aren't doing Sam Ehlinger any favors but either way I just don't see him being the guy in Indy. I would feel pretty comfortable having him as a backup or QB3 in 2023 and beyond though.
JediXMan
He'll be a nice backup to the Rookie QB the Colts draft.
Aces101
nope - I was not that impressed with Sam in college. The Colts need better talent at that position if they want to be contenders in the next 3-4 years.
DougDew
Hard to say. I don't remember what franchise QBs typically look like in their second NFL game.
John Waylon
Come on guys. I know today was a rough day at the office and all, but even still. Nah.
comsec1
Sam looks like one the of the worst QBs I have seen start an NFL game. He is afraid to throw the ball and that is hurting the team. There is another guy that has remained in the NFL named Trevor Semian and he does that too. But even Semian has a better noodle arm and is willing to learn the playbook. Sam is too short and has a really bad noodle arm. He holds onto the ball too long and that causes a bunch of sacks. He throws it to his check down even though the gain is only 1 yard, and his receiver gets destroyed. IN 2 games not a single TD thrown, not even a screen TD throw. I am not sure that has happened. Usually, coaches spoon feed these young QBs at least a TD Sam misses wide open receivers, and his ball placement is really bad. He would have a ton of picks, but he is afraid to throw the ball. Rhodelesstraveled
Sam is horrible. But the OL is worse. We have to trade out of our contracts. Everyone has to be tradeable.

2006Coltsbestever
I remember voting keep as backup, I nailed that one, to the 19 people that voted yes is puzzling.
CanuckColt
Sam is doing the best he can, but he is only a backup in this league. He is not as effective as Ryan in this offense with it's "OFFENSIVE" O-line.

Two_pound
Peyton Manning threw 3 interceptions in his 1st nfl start, Sam wouldn't have thrown any yet if Granson could have made a simple catch of a perfectly thrown ball.
teganslaw
Sam Ehlinger has only started two NFL games. It's too early to determine if he's a franchise QB.
Two_pound
And I'll add Manning turned out to be a pretty good "franchise qb". Not saying Sam is Manning, he isn't, but give the guy a chance behind a competent offensive line and receivers who stop dropping the ball and more creative and imaginative play calling. The best play yesterday was when Pierce was in the slot and ran a crossing pattern and Sam flipped him the ball and Pierce turned upfield for 23 yards. A simple, quick play. I don't know why we are having so much trouble stringing together successful plays, and when we do it's inevitable a turnover is coming, or a missed field goal.
