Frank after week 17 or after playoffs and Ballard to stick around.

There isn’t a clear upgrade at a coaching level that we could do midsession. We’d still

have Brady as the OC. Lateral moves and tells the team you’re packing it in. Let it play out.

for Ballard you would think there would be some contingency on draft and need to expectations.

what if Reich takes this FAR into the playoffs….do you still keep him?

Not being able to vote on what I want but instead what I think will happen takes the fun out of it. :yuk:

I voted Reich survives the season and will be the next scapegoat in the offseason, but just narrowly over being fired this season.

Unfortunately, I think Ballard will be here for next season.....after all, he's probably just doing what the Football Gods want him to. haha

If we lose to the Broncos in Denver I predict Reich will be fired.I think Ballard might make it until the end of the season, but I’m not confident in that prediction.

I think after Broncos, but likely it'll take another L, like another L to Jax or TN. A loss to WA would do it lol...

If we Wentz beats us, Irsay will go 1000% melt down mode.

If Payton agrees early (even if not announced), it would be a no brainer. It's the only clear upgrade available now.

Projecting Reich going playoffs would be like projecting after winning a lottery.

I think Irsay stays true to how he has always been. Has never fired a HC mid season. Not what I want but likely the case. Barring a miracle remainder of the season and deep playoff run he is done.

I think Ballard should be gone as well but I think he gets a chance with a new coach. Albeit on a short leash, will need quick success in order to hang around.

Wonder if Peter King's intel is accurate again...

If accurate, I think Reich is a gonner.

A purest hot take..... Frank had chances with 5 different QBs. Should Ballard get at least 2 HCs?

Reich gets fired.   Possibly this Friday.  No later than after the game week 13 when we have our bye week 14.

Ballard survives….   But I suspect just barely.   He’s going to have to find a HC he likes that wants to work with this roster and try to be competitive in 2023, and not think of the team as a rebuild.   That won’t be easy.   Can we find a promising young OC like Miami found with McDaniel?

If Ballard gets fired, I think the question immediately becomes will Ed Dodds take the job and replace his good friend.  That might be….   Awkward.

Did you see chatter (Peter King)...

Reich - after Denver, before G9

IMO, especially if we lose G8 vs WA/Wentz, Irsay will have a melt down....

Ballard - survives. here in 2023

Your just saying that to make me happy, right? haha

But I want Ballard gone too and soon!

I guess if you made a poll if only one if them gets fired soon which one would would you prefer to get the axe, Reich would win in a land slide?

It actually might be too pricey for irsay to hire both a new HC & GM at same time. Back when pagano and Griggs were on the hot seat dakich said that  it makes more economical sense to fire only one of them and not both at the same time. Which made sense I guess because we all knew pagano was a lame duck that last season.

I did, could be just noise or his opinion. Or maybe he does know something. Hard to speculate. Things look pretty bad maybe Jim does something he has never done. I personally dont think it happens though. Frank will be let go after the season along with "his guys". Ballard will probably be spared just cause he never did get a chance with his first coaching choice.

we already know fans want Reich gone now lol (previous poll)....

Less 10% of posters wanted Reich to stay.

Irsay looks silly, again..... after extended both.... We fired Pagano soon after extending too.

IMO, Frank will be gone by mid season. Maybe Strausser too.

Just too smoke with Reich, and Peter King is likely spot on.

My guess. Fox will be interim (pure interim, not in race for new coach), and we'll retain Frank's guys. And the rest will audition for new year (whoever the new HC is). Or would be crazy, but if Payton would come in mid season.

I'm curious, what exactly did Peter King say?

I saw somewhere about Irsay not tolerating this but not much else. Was there more to it or was that the essence of what King said?

Don't know.

A few folks posted this

I've seen stuff from MLF for a while. Never seen trollish or misleading stuff. So won't believe or disbelieve at this point. I have not searched more on the topic. I've been doing a little PFF stuff.

But if from King, likely correct. I'd take info from him, than other local media guys (Hicks, Keefer, Holder).. The local guys are pretty worthless.

From what I seen king only said Irsay won’t tolerate it. So that post added some stuff. Unless king said something in his podcast that adds to it.

IDK. I didn't post tweet, or listen.

King doesn't normally comment unless he knows something.

Rarely shares details though on personal discussions.

Who knows.

He shares but  always puts  it in a way to not give up his source. If he said my source everyone would know it’s Irsay. He did same thing in offseason to protect Irsay as his source on Wentz.

Yup. We all know he chats with Jim.

I wouldn't be surprised if Irsay told him purposefully.

Likely would allow him to gauge media and fan response before an actual fire.

I don't at all get the sense that Frank and Ballard are a package deal.  In fact, I wouldn't doubt if Irsay and Ballard are already privately discussing potential next coaches.

At this point, it's hard to see how Frank could keep his job.  I'm not sure 9-7-1 and a division title would do it.  He would probably need to win a playoff game or two.

Ballard isn’t a proven GM who gets the benefit I’d the doubt like the eagles GM is or other organizations. Whether Reich goes first we will see.

Yeah he pretty much said he expected Irsay to blow at some point but didn’t say when and I didn’t see King say anything about Ryan.  I stand by Irsay will give them the season. There is little upside to firing both before the season is over and it’s something Irsay has never done before and I don’t expect him to start now.

I do think Ballard is going to be the harder call for Irsay.  He has to decide first does this team lack talent (GM’s problem) or are they just not getting enough out of the talent (coach’s problem) or some combination of both and if so how much goes on the GM’s shoulders vs the coaches shoulders?   On one hand Ballard does have some really nice moves but this team also still has too many holes for someone who has been here as long as Ballard’s been here.

I also don’t think Irsay is going to want to repeat the Pagano situation where he pretty much made Chuck a lame duck coach.  Now clearly firing Reich and keeping Ballard wouldn’t make Ballard a lame duck GM but if they do bring in another coach I don’t think Irsay is going to want to feel like he may have to fire Ballard in another year or two because then that just makes the new coach a lame duck maybe even before he gets his team together.  So if he’s going to stick with Ballard I think he’s going to have to feel convinced Ballard is the guy like he was with Polian when he let Mora go.

I’m all aboard the the Payton train honesty. I just want to see some creativity. It’s painful watching our team on offense and it’s painfully obvious what calls will be made before they’re even called.

The fan in me wants to see them go far (fanatics). The other side wants to shuffle the deck as we are quickly falling behind the AFC south. Let alone the AFC.

Irsay doesn’t fire people mid season, so as of right now. I think Reich is out and Ballard stays. Reich is out because of the slow start again and the problems with the offense. I think as of now Ballard stays because this years and last years rookies have been playing well despite the losses.

I think Payton would be good here. And after a year of rest.....

I don't see Payton finding Indy attractive though....

Would take cash.... lots of cash.....
