While I don’t think Frank deserves all the blame, it’s becoming clear that he’s an average coach that will most likely not get us to the ultimate goal. He’s not gameplanning well at all and it’s hurting us exponentially.

I think we should give Rex Ryan a call at years end. Players love playing for this guy and it will give us back that chip on the shoulder feel this team needs.

I firmly believe we got the right players to be a championship team. Now we just need the leadership.

Special teams coaches normally see players on both sides of the team, on offense and defense. If they can get the players to play at a high level, then one should consider them. Much like Belichick and Harbaugh came from an ST background, it will work. I know, I know, Joe Judge didn't work but the players will respect Bubba for sure. Eagles took a chance on Sirianni, it is just as much a chance and one has to value the relationship a coach has with his players and how hard they play for him.

Like @CR91 said, if we are cleaning house, I'd go for Bubba Ventrone for HC and Ed Dodds for GM.

Darrell Bevell for OC (currently offensive assistant for Dolphins but has prior OC experience), that has a good relationship with Ed Dodds (worked with RW as a rookie), and if Brandon Staley gets let go by the Chargers in favor of Sean Payton, I'd get him as DC. That will be a good ensemble of coaches, IMO.

I've always liked Rex but he's not HC material.  For all Frank's warts I think his main issue is he's too nice a guy to run the entire show.  But Rex simply is not good enough.

Irsay needs to go get Sean Payton.  That's the guy.  This organization would be fully back and mattering again with SP prowling our sideline.

Another head coach who I would keep tight tabs on is Shanahan.  He's under contract with the 9ers, yes, but there may be a natural break coming there.  His time in SF has been hit and miss and there are rumors that he did not want the QB Lance in that draft.  If the 9ers lose this year he might come available and he'd be a fantastic hire for the Colts in bringing that run game here with JT waiting in the wings.

Payton won’t be free though. I’d love to see the Colts get Eric Bieniemy and draft Stroud to mold as the Colts future.

Joe Hortiz the Ravens director of player personnel is my guy for GM. Comes from the Ozzie Newsome tree.

I do like Stroud but we would have to go 1-15-1 to get him lmao

Definitely way to early, but if the Colts have a top 10 pick, the new GM could move up and get Stroud.

We need a guy whose going to light a fire under you know what. Between Caldwell, pagano, reich, it’s nothing but nice guys. Lets

not forget it’s football. It’s not church.

Sean Payton, but I don't think he would come here. If anything Dallas would be his move.

If he did come, Ballard would have to leave to, Dodds might be good replacement. I really don't want Ballard to go.

If not for Frank Ballard would look worse. I'm not blaming the one over the other.

They both need too go IMO

    • Yeah you could overpay another guard or a linebacker going through a midlife crisis. Give me a break. All the Colts do is throw money at QB on this never ending merry go round. And guess what? Nobody in their right minds wants on this ride. You’re nuts if you think Ballard will draft you a generational talent after six years and that will magically fix this team that he built.
    • The Cowboys are the number one pass rush team in the NFL.   Number one.   It wasn’t hard to see that coming.
    • Until they decide to lay out more towards the cap and buy up some known talent ALONG WITH a good draft, we'll not be contenders. We are an absolutely mediocre team on the best of days. Sure, they can win against quality teams on a very-seldom basis, but until we get that *zing* back with a defensive line that can penetrate, an O-line that can stand their ground, and some WR and RB who can hold on to the ball...we're just going to continue to be a mediocre team. We're one good off-season away from a killer season, but we need some QB hands that can make things happen. Buying worn out QBs off the clearance shelf isn't going to get results. It's time we dropped some serious $$ on a bad *, proven QB. Go out and buy Mahomes (I don't like him, but...) or maybe drop step out of the comfort zone and see if you can get Cousins to play at the Luke.    Either way...this has nothing to do with coaching. You take a slightly talented team, and it doesn't matter who the coach is--they don't have the depth and the strength to run over another team. Remember in the Manning days when the defense was feared across the league? We had an O-line that would stand up any approach by the D and give Manning time to throw. There we are again--a QB who can get things done. It's time to stir it up. Let's hit the cap and buy the pieces we need.
    • The Oline situation is handicapping us for sure. I said signing Nelson was a mistake and got laughed at. But honestly G is the least important position on OFF and the easiest to fill. If we kept Reed and Glowinski and let Nelson walk we could have signed a LT and be in a lot better of a situation. IMO Nelson and Leonard are tradeable players to fix our cap and depth issues...Okereke and Franklin hold it down just fine. Get a vet QB and LT and nes HC/OC and this team can be right back in the thick of things...
    • After extending both Reich and then Ballard before the season started and then firing Reich and losing all of that money I don't see him doing it again with Ballard.  Ballard pretty much hit in in the draft this year with Pierce and Raiman developing nicely along with Cross coming along and a few others contributing.  Gilmore and McCloud were solid FA additions.  Yannick was a trade and he leads the team in sacks.  Losing our outstanding punter to an injury hurt.  I expect him to be here next year and get his 1st choice at coach and quarterback.
