Can you make a stat on what other teams that are winning with money compared to this team?

Such what are the Dolphins spending on OL and DL or Bills compared to Colts?

I just find it hard watching so many NFL games where teams have so many open WRs and not very many known names on the OL and DL. Plus QBs that have so much time to throw.. Defenses that get pressure on QBs what is them teams spending for DL?

Not saying they aren't good just a lot of names heard of during draft.

If you don't have the time its cool. I'm just curious you find some good stat caparisoning in here.

Please keep it up, I don't always agree with stat numbers but they also don't lie.

Thanks

You'd need be more specific (how look?)

Not sure it would be a weekly thread though if I understand it...

So, question...

We have 2 WRs graded in the top 15 (Pittman and Dulin)....

An average... a team should be one WR 1-32, one WR 33-64, and one 65-96.

And we have in top 15.

WRs are bad? Scheme/coach is bad? something other?

Was Rodgers not showing during training camp and preseason? With the potential he showed last year and the training camp/preseason he had I thought he may compete to start at corner.... now no snaps period? What is going on???

This type of defense lives and dies on creating turnovers and getting to the QB... of which we have managed hardly any of either. Sure we havent had Leonard, but this team cant live or die on one player....

The whole prevent the big play and make the offense drive on you isnt going to work in today's NFL, offenses are just too good. If we play the same against this version of the Chiefs where Mahomes is tearing teams apart in the short game, we are going to look even worse than we did last week.

This is truly make or break time for this coaching staff.... show some flexibility and adaptivity for situational football, or go down with a sinking ship. Gus Bradley, time for this pass rush to show up or we (and you) are cooked.

Yep, was asking for the same thing. Give the DL time to get there - take away the shallow routes.

Less cushion (tighter zone or man).

I know LVR's pass D wasn't great last year, but didn't give up 70% completion...

Gilmore is playing great. Moore though, is very very meh. Facyson was better this week, but meh.

Why are people expecting anything different? This defensive scheme is dead. It went out with the Seahawks last superbowl win.

Outside of C3, do you understand the differences (front 7)? Honestly question...

Hint - Bill B uses a variation of front 7 (Seattle D)

Then you shouldn't say it's dead.

FYI... we need a real C3 FS... our FS has allowed a team lead in TDs... 3..... Without those 3 or at least 1.. lol, we'd like be at least 1-1...

Well u could say the same a out pass rush. It's non existent. TE  and WR play is crap. O line play is crap. Man it's juat depressing.

Sometimes it's scheme, sometimes it's coach, sometimes it's roster. Sometimes a combo....

NE for instance, did good (pressures) last year... 25+% pressures. NE is tied for #8 in sacks this year.

Anything 25% is fine. Below 20% is bad.

Interesting... Flus is #4 in pressure %... 35+%.... and last in blitz %..... He did not that when Indy... Tells me Reich impacted D scheme and game plan. Nick looks different in Philly too.

No need to pivot to O lol... stay on D...

    • I don't necessarily agree with everything you're saying here, but I get your point. I agree with the bolded, for sure, and I don't think Pittman is that player. So I think the Colts should continue to try to find that player.   But does that mean the Colts should move on from Pittman? That probably depends on his contract expectations, right? So what does the market say he should expect? This is where I think it's important to identify what kind of player Pittman is -- not just what he isn't -- and who he compares to. Because that's what his agent will be presenting.   I think if people spend the time to think about realistic comps for Pittman and the contracts those players have, it will be easier to project his market value. And then what it probably comes down to is whether the Colts should pay Pittman his market value, or let him leave in FA. Because trying to tie Pittman to a value that isn't supported by the market is kind of pointless.
    • Bengals OL looks inconsistent some games they look good while others they don’t. Hopefully we send more pressure against them this game.
    • IMHO   The "naming" from a fans perspective isnt that important   But..... from my personal opinion, this offense needs a WR that defensive coordinators need to scheme for. Someone that can score on any play. Someone that has amazing YAC potential. Someone that forces the safeties to play a little deeper.     THIS type of receiver.... call him "WR1", or "explosive AL" for all that matters.... THIS type of receiver is needed to open up running lanes for our star RB   As we sit today, (Like Sunday) The Texans were in a modified, 8 man box to slow down the run   Edge was MORE effective because we had Marvin, who could take the top off.....   Thats all I am saying......  not trying to belittle Pittman..... we need him JUST like we did with Reggie Wayne before         THIS team needs THAT type of player   The agent for Pittman is going to try and "sell" his client as a top WR1   I see Pittman as that Reggie Wayne type......  much needed......  but not at the same level as Harrison
    • You know what I think would help? Agreeing on the verbiage, as it relates to production, impact, and pay range.    Some of the terms being used in this thread: #1 WR, true #1, WR1, elite WR, game breaking WR, go-to receiver... None of those terms are well defined. Even more technical terms like Z/X/Slot receiver have a lot of overlap, and there's not really a league-wide prototype for those positions anymore. Pittman runs 30% of his routes from the slot, and lines up all over the place.   Even some of the guys you named above are drastically different in usage and production. Stephon Diggs is a lot more comparable to Pittman than Mike Evans, even though Evans seems like the more logical comp.   So I wonder what everyone thinks the proper expectations are, and should be, for the WR1 for a good offense. Is it based more on production, or more on playing style? And what kind of players should Pittman be compared to when we start thinking about the appropriate pay range for him?
    • Its an interesting case, hes good but usually you want more out of your best WR.   The real question is how much do we give him, its pointless to argue if hes a #1.   He might be our #1 like it or not if we cant find anyone better
