Yes they are.  Doesn't mean we can't win games, but it puts more onus on scheming them open and makes things enormously harder on the QB.

Everybody is well aware that Irsay doesn't usually fire his coaches midseason.  But that doesn't mean it won't happen.  This is not to say I am gunning for Frank to be fired, as I am not.  I do think he's underrated but his current situation is his creation because he should have beat the table for more wideout help.  Chris would have accommodated him I am sure and we'd be in a much better spot right now.

 

Also this has nothing to do with Wentz.  He is still who he is, which is a QB that requires a full mental rebuild of his confidence and the whole nine and even then might not be able to turn the corner.  Colts (in this case the owner) simply did not want to endure that because they saw themselves as a contender.

 

Going forward they have to get both lines playing better.  That has been the theme with Jacksonville and was the theme again.  They have invested in both lines, and it is time for the players to step up and produce.  Ryan requires good protections.  His game disintegrates when he has to move off his spot, and he's always been that way.  This OL should be good enough to protect him, and they're going to need to hold their blocks a bit longer due to this wideout group.

Correct.  Good established offensive minded coaches want to coach good offensive players.  A new coach would likely have to be a first timer who is getting his shot.  He would have to work with new/young nonestablished players in key positions.  Like Zac Taylor did.

Pittman is obviously great. I still think Pierce will be great, he just needs time. The rest are mid-tier scrubs at best. We need a Jamaar Chase or Tyreek Hill speedster-type on this team ASAP

They should call the Rams, who have a bunch of receivers on their roster.  Grab that dude who tore up the preseason (McCutcheon who was a UDFA so should be cheap), he'd give the QB a safety blanket type option.

 

Either way they should be scouring rosters right now and seeking solutions.  Ryan might be good enough for a season or two if they can get him some weapons.
