Just watched Penn St vs Purdue, what a game. Neither of these teams are going far IMO though.

Dear God let anyone not named Ohio St or Alabama win the title, amen.

I'd be OK with Ohio State, just not Alabama.   I'm a Big Ten fan.

It sucks that the NCAA has made it easier for the top schools in football to be able to stay dominant.  They now just use small schools as their minor league.

My preseason National Title pick was USC, after yesterday doubling down. Lincoln Riley went shopping and brought in 20 starters from other squads including his OKL QB Caleb Williams who I think makes the Heisman trip as top 4, the #1 wr in the nation in Pitt's Jordan Addisson, Oregon's 1,200 yard rb Travis Dye......loaded O line and the D was addressed through the portal at all 3 levels and yesterday had 3 pick 6's. Some people think it will take time for all the All Stars to gel and it may BUT an easy start to the season should allow time and we saw yesterday neither Oregon nor Utah are as good as the so called experts think. Notre Dame may be the only club with a real chance to stop an unbeaten season and not sure they can go punch for Punch with that O.

Not debating whether transfer rules are too lenient or not but Riley brought in the best haul any team every has and will reap the awards. USC should jump into top 10 in next poll.......

Beavers late over USC...

Nice. Love Beavers...

If USC loses, PAC is likely out of NC conversation...

4:40ish left... come on D..

Trojans get it done, Washington is looking very solid out west too they could factor into the national title conversation. Penix looking better then his Indiana days.

USC lucked out. Good game though.

WA is better expected. Good W over MSU, but IMO MSU was overrated.

Penix is looking good.

USC has zero turnovers this season and has 11 ints, they are opportunistic and dont beat themselves which can go a long way in college ball.

Alabama/Tennessee.

What a Game!

Best game I have seen this year!

Yes, most definitely. That WR from Tennessee, Hyatt, he was getting open at will and had great chemistry with Herndon Hooker. Herndon threw several darts, not sure why folks were calling him one read QB. He threw slants, posts, go routes, and stood tall in the pocket against pressure and delivered, I’m impressed.

#1 Georgia hosting #2 Tennessee this weekend. Biggest game of the year. SEC East on the line. Essentially a playoff game.

Winner makes the playoffs as the number 1 seed, loser makes the playoffs as the number 4 seed.  I have no interest.

Not so sure because winner still has to beat Bama in SEC title game which even in a down year for Crimson Tide is no easy feat. If Bama wins they get a spot over who they beat so loser of this game is odd team out as SEC wont get 3 in.

I always kind of liked Tennessee, but from now on as long as their HC is around, I hope they lose every game they play. They were up today 59-24 with less than 2 mins in the game, they drove to the 1 yd line, and instead of taking a knee, they plow in for yet another TD. No class.

Navy fought back in the second half to get close vs Notre Dame, which was surprising, with their backup QB no less.

Kentucky loses to Vanderbilt. Levis is doing his draft stock no favors and as I've said before even if the Colts have a chance I hope they pass.

Now I think we see Alabama take out their frustrations on Ole Miss.

There's some bad blood. Missouri blew TN out two years in a row... 17 and 18. And still kept pouring it on through the 4th...

So TN owes them....

And... Vols need all the style points can get..

It'll be UGA vs LSU in the SECC, so UT needs help to get a CFP spot.

Unfortunately the NCAA system uses final score totals as a part of their ranking and 66-24 looks better than 59-24.   It won't have a big meaningful impact, if at all, but it is what the NCAA has put out there.

@2006Coltsbestever Did you see that Nebraska hired Matt Rhule? Can he be the second coming of Tom Osborne? (Just kidding about the latter.)

Good luck.

https://sports.yahoo.com/nebraska-hires-matt-rhule-as-next-head-coach-151258367.html

Before his time in the NFL, Matt Rhule executed major turnarounds at both Temple and Baylor.

I like the hire. We will see how it goes. Nebraska has not been dominant since the 90's. That is when they had a pro O.Line, pro RB's, and a fast defense that swarmed teams.

Think Williams wrapped up the Heisman tonite,  USC is sitting pretty going into Pac 12 title game. The D has forced turnovers all season long, and club is #1 in nation in turnover differential by a large margin (#28 closer to #2 then #2 is to USC).

I didn't post it in here but before the season I had Georgia repeating. After what I saw from Michigan yesterday, I don't see anyone beating them. They reminded me of the 1995 Cornhuskers. They just brutalized the Buckeyes with their O.Line, their run game was a 10 out of 10, their defense was fast and executed perfectly. They also have the best coach of the 4 teams that are in it now. As long as their QB doesn't make crucial mistakes, nobody is beating Michigan.

It does seem like it but it felt like J J McCarthy was fired up for the Buckeyes spurning him when he tried to join them. Michigan does benefit from some NFL coaching with the Harbaugh brothers trading coaches every now and then. I still can’t get over the almost egg they laid against Illinois (which has been a cold and hot team).

Mostly the top 4 will be:

1. Georgia

2. Michigan

3. TCU

4. USC

Lincoln Riley’s Sooners lost a close one led by Baker vs Nick Chubb led Bulldogs several years ago, I’d love to see what happens this time. Georgia’s QB play, I’m not sold on.

Of all the 4 teams above, I think TCU and USC have superior QBs than Michigan and Georgia, IMO. But complete teams win championships. Will be a good college playoffs with those.

I hope that is the Final 4. That would be entertaining.

USC has a good pass O, but the rest of their team is very meh. They'll struggle vs good Ds. Wouldn't be shocked if Utah beat them again.

I like TCU, but the B12 is weak (so is PAC).

UGA and UM are the two legit teams. And UGA's D is easily the best.

Georgia beat Michigan last year pretty easily in the Final 4 but I would love to see that rematch. Michigan seems like they are on a mission now. What is funny is out of the 4 teams, TCU IMO has the best QB in Max but they aren't better than Georgia, Michigan, or USC team wise.
