Diamond In The Rough. Which UDFA are you pulling for?

You never know what you will get with the undrafted guys.

Example: Jessie (The Hammer) Tuggle. One of the best linebackers ever. Played for the Falcons. His son is Grady Jarrett that also plays for Atlanta.

Im pulling for JoJo Domann-linebacker and Ryan Van Demark-offensive lineman.

Who ya got?

Undrafted free agents the Colts signed in May.  I'm not sure if they are all still with the team.  I cannot say if I'm partial to anyone in particular as I really don't know.

RB Max Borghi (Washington State)

QB Jack Coan (Notre Dame)

WR Kekoa Crawford (Cal)

DB Marcel Dabo (International Pathways Program)

S Trevor Denbow (SMU)

LB JoJo Domann (Nebraska)

WR Ethan Ferrea (UCLA)

CB Dallis Flowers (Pittsburg State)

C Wesley French (Western Michigan)

C Alex Mollette (Marshall)

WR Samson Nacua (BYU)

DE Scott Patchan (Colorado State)

RB D'Vonte Price (Florida International)

LB Forrest Rhyne (Villanova)

G Josh Seltzner (Wisconsin)

LB James Skalski (Clemson)

T Ryan Van Demark (UConn)

RB C.J. Verdell (Oregon)

Same two guys. Domann and Demark. They have a legit shot to make the 53 IMO and possibly make some sort of impact this year.

I find it a little odd and maybe telling that the Colts didn't sign any of the top 30 undrafted WR's.   I guess it shows that Ballard may be happy with what we have.

Also, Weatherford seems like he may make the 53, and the 4th RB completion (if we keep a 4th) is wide open…

Borghi was my hopeful, got released before anything even started. Read he tried out with Denver

Borghi signed with Denver last week and is currently favored to make the 53 man roster as their 4th rb.

I also like Van Demark,JOJO,Verdell and Weatherford.

James Skalski was a stud at Clemson but is behind Rhyne as of now on depth chart.

I remember right after his signing people were high on Scott patchan. I followed his career very closely at miami and didn’t think he had a shot to make the colts. Very injury prone and already like 25 and a half years old.

He didn’t even make it to camp. Believe he is on the saints now.

Jack Coan and Tyler Van Demark

Its worth noting that thoe two players also got the most money at signing among all our UDFAs.

I wonder if Coan could beat out Elingher.

Maybe? Havent heard anything out of camp about Coan.........

Coan could get put on the practice squad but that would be four quarterbacks on the roster.

I expect to make the 53 (if I had to pick on lock)

  • LB JoJo Domann (Nebraska)

Chance of making the 53 (PS lock if not 53)

  • LB Forrest Rhyne (Villanova) - better chance if Leonard is slow to return
  • QB Jack Coan (Notre Dame) - not sure we'll keep 3, but wouldn't be shocked to see him have a better PS than Sam
  • C Wesley French (Western Michigan) - only if we keep 10 OL
  • T Ryan Van Demark (UConn) - chances are getting better the longer D Kelly is out with injury
  • LB Sterling Weatherford (Miami Ohio) - STs
  • LB James Skalski (Clemson) - STs

Ok, not to single you out 'cause I've seen many do this, and I expect the guy to make at least the PS if not the initial 53 man.... His middle name isn't Van.  The last name is Van Demark. Lol.  His Jersey will read Van Demark on the back.  It's nit picky time of year.....come on Sat!

Domann is probably the obvious choice because we were lucky he was a UDFA. He was seemingly thought to definitely be a draft pick, even possibly in round 5 or 6.

Really hoping for Van Demark or Weatherford since they seem to better fit the "diamond in the rough" description. Each is a good athlete with maybe some flaws that are only perceived or can be overcome.
