Argentina wins!!!!!!

That's awesome! Great game.

So happy for Messi

Yeah, really happy for Messi, this was his last chance and Argentina finally had a TEAM around him.

Mbappe already has a WC under his belt and 2 WC Finals appearances plus a hat trick in a WC final. He is going to smash WC records if he stays healthy. That French head coach and manager, he made all the right moves with his substitutions, have to tip your cap to him. The Argentines were just more poised in the penalty shootout. Argentina already had 5 wins in penalty shootouts in WC history, this made it 6-1, and the French are 2-3 now.

France is great, but one of least favorite teams... Argentina winning, and France losing... double bonus... lol...

Great game though.

When Argentina went 2-0 up, I told my friends that they would need a 3rd to outright win it like in 1986 vs Germany when Germany stormed back to tie it up 2-2 in the last 10 minutes, similar to what France did. Just that Argentina's Maradona had a great assist to get them to 3-2 and win it in regulation in 1986 while this Argentinian squad had to wait till the penalty shootout to win it all.

Argentina, who are 6-1 in penalty shootouts in WC history (very impressive) has lost a penalty shootout only to Germany who are 4-0 and the only unbeaten team in penalty shootouts in WC history. Spain has a terrible record, and Italy and France hover around the .500 mark. However, German soccer lately has been sub par even in Euro championships the last handful of years or so though I am sure they will make a comeback just like Italy will too.
