It’s not widely known, but some websites are reporting it as….

Thursday, May 13.   8p in the East, 5p out West.

It’ll be carried by both the NFL Network and ESPN.

Certain select dates are expected to leak out in the hours and/or days ahead of schedule.

OK….

Apparently reading the calendar on my phone  is trickier than I thought.   The schedule release IS on a Thursday, but it’s not the 13th.

It’s the 12th.       DOH!!

Sometimes…..

Better hope the Thursday night game on Amazon Prime only fails to draw viewers or in the future, the NFL will go to where the money is.  Sound impossible? Stop and look at the salaries being paid now and where they will be in the future. I'm not saying the entire schedule but this smells of a trend. I hope I'm wrong but "we wage wars for gold."

  • 2 weeks later...

While the full schedule gets released Thursday,  there will be strategic "leaks" of games all week long....

Each day, one of the morning networks will reveal a slate of games airing on that networks NFL schedule.   So, there will be something new each morning.....    Plus, Thursday afternoon,   each of the 32 teams will get to release it's first home game opponent.    I think that happens around 4 or 5....     the full schedule comes out at 8 on the East....   5 on the West....

Yes,  the NFL is trying to maximize the release date by turning it into a release week event....     That's the NFL these days.   It's good business....

What do you think will be the opening game for Rams?

I am thinking Rams vs Cowboys or Rams vs Bills. Both will be good ones.

Season 3 Wall GIF by The Simpsons- I want to play at Jacks on opening day. That would be a dream come true and their worst nightmare. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone = win on opening day and get that ridiculous losing streak over with at Jacksonville. Matt Ryan about to end that bull

I know I live in Los Angeles…. And we have the Super Bowl champs here and the promising Chargers with Herbert….

That said….   I try to focus on one team — my team — the Colts.   I wake up and check the Colts.   Before I go to sleep, I check the Colts.  And I pretty much check the Colts throughout the day and evening too.

But the Rams schedule is jam packed.   I think their difficulty is top-3 in the NFL.   (Colts are reportedly 26th).   But with the Rams, you could throw a dart at the schedule and most any team will be a good game.

Here is my dream schedule for the 1st 4 games:

at Jacks

Washington at home

at Texans

Titans at home

I smell 4-0 and complete control of the division through Qtr 1.

    • Same. And Young is underperforming my expectations, even though I didn't have very high expectations.    With Richardson I expected a lot of growing pains and some of that is happening. I expected the flashes of brilliance too. What has surprised me is that those flashes are now becoming not just flashes but waves of brilliance. He's not having just the ocassional "wow" throw. He's having drives, quarters... hell even halves of high level of play. And he's also still throwing everything 100 miles/h and he's sometimes late with some of his throws... and he sails some throws over receivers heads. A lot of this was expected and I feel like to some degree it has been moderated by this coaching staff compared to what he was doing last year. In other words - both the positives and the negatives we saw from last year are still there... but it feels like the positives are more frequent and the negatives are muted a bit.    Overall I feel good about where he is... but he still has a long way to go. If this is the final product, it's not good enough in the long run. But when looking at the progress he's making, how unphases he is with the moment and responsibility, I see no reason to doubt he will continue improving over the next few years. At this point it's up to him, the coaching staff and Ballard(to give him more/better weapons) about where he ends up...(and of course - luck injury-wise).
    • we’re not going to pick high enough to grab a WR1.  If we could then I agree, but the WR group we have right now is not good.  Maybe it will get better, but right now it’s not good.  We have to stop being homers.
    • I’ve said it and I’ll keep saying it.  These receivers are FAILING AR.  We don’t have a receiver out there that can go and get it.  We don’t have a WR1 talent.     Love Pittman, but if it isn’t under 9 yards he’s a ghost.  He should’ve had that long TD if the face mask didn’t happen, but through 4 games I’m not impressed.  Some of y’all are, but I’m not.     Pierce, I thought this dude was going to be catching bombs every game.  But so far he’s caught just ONE.  What a disappointment.   Downs, he’s been solid but not impactful.  He flashes and then defenses double him and that’s that.  But he’s a rookie so he’ll learn to find the open space.  I’m fine with Downs.   Anyone else is not worth mentioning.   The tight end has been surprisingly solid and as discussed in another thread doing better than the receivers.
    • In the rams game alone I counted 6 drops.  I’m pretty there were more.  17/24 sounds A LOT better than 11/24.  And we still lost in OT.  ARs stats doesn’t show his greatness on the field.
    • I will do it later today.
