Bruce Arians stepping down as Hc

Super incredible by Arians. As @tvturner said, BA always takes care of his own.

He basically waited to confirm they could scoot the Rooney rule and not have to abide by it and then retired so his friend could take over a good team, get a new contract and keep the entire staff intact.

The last link in here pretty much lays out why he did it when he did.

Boss move.

The spoiled cheating brat forced Arians out when the bucs wouldn't let him go to Miami or SF.

Bowles will be easier on him than BA, probably let him take some afternoons off and get 9 holes in. haha

I guess with the conditions of him un-retiring the Rams & Packers limit will be to lose in the NFCCG or sooner.:yuk: ...,but at least we can still make some cash like the last 2 decades. :D

What about BA gives you the idea he would be pushed to do something he didn't want to do?   If he didn't want to step aside he wouldn't have

Please. Arians is out because Brady wanted him gone.

Brady was at the Man United game with Glazer soon before Arians was fired, soon before Brady un-retired.

Did you and LJ just meet? :D

Tom Brady is the devil and everything bad that happens in the universe is his fault.

High gas prices? Tom Brady.

Covid pandemic? Brady.

That sock you lose every time you do laundry? Yup. Brady.

Na, but he's been involved in many, and I mean many corrupt games especially including post season.

As far as Arians is concerned, check out Skip & Shannon had to say on the subject.....and Cowherd. And by the way Skip & Cowherd  are always pro cheater. Lol

I don't watch the sports talk shows too much but when I heard Arians stepped away I tuned in a bit.

Sorry, wasn't ducking it or anything! Didn't realize you were waiting for me to reply. Of course that's a huge possibility, I've heard all of the same things that they were talking about on Undisputed. Boston sports radio is right there too, saying Brady was the impetus behind BA's retirement.

This type of stuff is made for talk shows! I don't know and really don't care what happened behind the scenes in Tampa. Arians doesn't strike me as the type of person who would step down involuntarily, but that's just me speculating. Unless someone breaks a story here with facts and sources, we're ALL just speculating.

My first response was just me having a bit of fun.   I find it amusing that in any thread where TB is mentioned you just can't help yourself.

I went to college where Bruce played h.s football York, Penn so always felt a special bond. Read  "The Quarterback Whisperer" last year a real good read for those who enjoy books related to the NFL. They way he handled Pagano's situation was class 100% with the light on and stressing time and again it was Chuck's team despite Chuck being new to Indy. Brady didnt force  him out, he wanted a loyal coach of his to be in position to succeed and he reached every goal he had wanted already.

That's because I have a low opinion of him and so do many more people. Not the ones on camera of  course, they won't risk their nice and high paying jobs....on this topic by far the consensus is he pushed BA out.

BA is a no nonsense guy.  He has always been a straight shooter.   Why would he put up with this charade?    He doesn't strike me as a liar either.    All these writers with opinions.  Have they given any basis for that opinion?

I wouldn't expect anything less.

    • On any given team, the 3rd and 4th string guys are fighting for table scraps.      But this year on the Colts, it should be even harder to take care of our 3/4.    Because both our 1st and 2nd string are new to the team and the playbook.   So both Ryan and Foles need every rep they can get.   They won’t be giving up any of theirs.      So Ehlinger and Coan are going to have to make the best of a difficult situation.   It may not be fair, but in carefully scripted practices there's only so much to go around.
    • I agree losing Hill is a huge loss. I do think they take a tiny step back, but they could also take a step forward.    Not a bad pass catching group at all...    RB - CEH is a good catching RB, not that he needs it though TE - Kelce - don't need to say anything here   WR - MVS - solid and quality X JuJu - likely does better with Mahomes over Big Ben...  Hardman - productive guy, and should take a step forward now that he's no longer in Hill's shadow Moore - rook, but I like his chances.   A lot of teams would like to have that group
    • Using unit totals of  RB - 60 TE - 55 WR - 135   Keeping things simple, and only including the top 4 TEs on the depth chart.   Note, most of the depth chart chatter has Ogletree over Woods at this point, and climbing..... citing Ogletree's hands and route running as being more advanced.    I'd also add that there's a good chance that Granson is again used in more of a TE/HB/slot hybrid role, than traditional TE. That doesn't guarantee anything though. We've heard reports of shovels in camp (Hybrid use) but also heard reports of corner routes.
    • Well it's probably a lost cause to discuss this further then.  Bottom line is you can have one stud wideout but teams will figure out how to remove him on key downs that decide the game.  In today's league you need multiple matchups to allow you to break down a defense and isolate who you want on who for a given look and dismantle them.  If you get to that four threat range and have a QB who can dish it most defenses are gonna break down and the offense will get a fancy nickname in history.   Let me ask you this...  Do you think the Chiefs are a great offense this year?   If you say yes by assumption of they're great every year, I would refer you to their roster.  Who are their top threats in the passing game.  How deep do you think they go?   Way I see it Kelce is a top weapon.  You can ruin players days with him.  But after him there's some question marks.  Hardman?  Ok.  Sure.  Not a huge fan but he's a guy you can get some isolations with.  After that, though, I'm not seeing special.  Maybe I'm too high and missing someone, but I'm seeing two good weapons and an offense that is praying they hit on Sky Moore.  I'd say they go two deep.  Which is not a great offense btw.  So I'd expect their offensive throughput to dip in 2022, and when it does all the talking heads will bag on Mahomes but really it will be they had to run the ball more and protect longer to survive.
