We will see. I am very happy for Byron Leftwich. The Jaguars saw the success of Zac Taylor, Sean McVay, the young offensive minds being hired around the NFL and felt that was the direction to go with Leftwich.

 

However the Jaguars, as much as they get fired up to play us, will find a way to mess it up against the rest of the NFL. Now, the Bucs get 2 third round picks, the rich get richer.

If they are going to be in the market for a new QB, and Brady does retire, I am sure they will try to lure some other QB or draft one. Arians still knows how to coach offense or let Clyde Christensen / Tom Moore call plays. Like the song by Queen, "the show must go on..."

Leftwich appears to interview very well.

 

Still, like Eric Bienemy with Offensive guru Ried as HC and with one of the best QBs in the NFL in Mahomes, its hard to tell from our perspective what Leftwich's contribution to an offense was under Arians and with Brady.

 

Is it like Marcus Brady with Frank and Wentz (not on the same level obviously)?

 

Not sure if Taylor or McVay had that elite level of support/leadership group around them before they were hired.

Good for them.   Seems to be a good hire.

I still have my doubts about how good Leftwich is and will be but that may just be old memories of his playing days creeping in.

Good for him. Doesn't honestly raise my "divisional" needle. The Jags could hire some of the brilliant minds here and it might be an improvement over their last coach.

WOW - hadn't heard that - but - with his history in Jacksonville - it doesn't surprise me.  Besides - I believe he knows how to "behave himself" while in the public eye - unlike their most recent coach - who shall remain nameless.  LOL

Well happy for him, and good luck just not when the Colts play Jacksonville!!

Better for the Colts than a guy like Caldwell who could greatly make Lawrence a better QB. 
 

I wouldn’t not have paired Trevor with a Rookie HC.

Yeah Leftwich to Jags is dead , no longer an option. Down to Hackett and Eberflus according to local media down here in central Florida.

Very happy for Leftwich.  And honestly, happy for the jags.  I think a competitive AFC south is a good thing for the colts and the fans.  Hopefully Trevor develops into something special and Leftwich shows he’s the man for the job.

Eberflus should run away. Trent Baalke is their GM, and seems to be their problem. He got Urban Meyer there, and now he is penny pinching with Leftwich or there is a struggle in philosophies. I am not sure why the Jaguars did not fire their GM and start with a GM hire like the Giants did.

Actually a pretty good hire, though I think the Bills OC was maybe a better option. Please screw this up somehow Jax!
