Ultimately, this is on Frank. I feel like he convinced the team they already made the playoffs after that win against the Cards.

This is his football team led by his favorite QB.

There is no excuse for these last 2 games.

Spot on. I’m not a believer in Reich and he’s convinced me of that.

Reich and Wentz.

Yep... and Ballard for trusting Reich with Wentz. And the OL...

I actually would not blame the defense today, even though they didn't have their best game... they had a poor-ish game, but the offense overall, Frank, Wentz and the OL in particular were horrendous.

What a complete disaster against a 2 win team who played with more desire. 2 games to clinch a spot and nothing to show for it. Frank with not having the team ready and the QB he desperately wanted.

Ballard, then Reich, then the remainder of the coaching staff, then the players. In that order.

They ain’t the only problem but it starts with Reich and Wentz.  I don’t care how bad your team is, if you can’t throw for at least 250 in this league then you’re the problem.

people dont realize the line doesnt magically become horrible in one year .    wentz makes his offensive lines look much worse on simple throws he holds the ball stares down the guys and has a slow release .    the eagles offensive line pass blocking was rated higher than the colts last year but wentz is sacked 40 plus times while rivers is sacked like 17 times .  then wentz comes here and is sacked so much .   its easier to blame the line and wrs who were getting open today .   no one wants to admit when you are in a bad spot a QB

Yeah. And even against the Raiders, D did what they were supposed to do.

Everybody but JT on that side kept us out of the playoffs.

ballard his method of getting talent , and his system of building a playing system is not working

I don’t think it’s Ballard, it Reich.  We still haven’t seen Hines be used a dynamic player.  That lets me know it’s the playcalling.  It took Reich 5 weeks to realize he had JT.

ballard kept reich as coach, ballard traded for wentz, ballard has not got us receivers or a pass rush, it falls on ballard

For the season it is Ballard for signing Fisher and believing Reich could fix Wentz. Reich for believing he could fix Wentz. And Wentz for being terrible. He lost us five or six games this year and we gave up a 1 for him when he was the worst QB in football last season. I said this at when it happened and here I am now to say that this was a completely self inflicted failure of a season. Reich and Wentz have to go.

reich begged Ballard for wentz.  Reich was irsay pick, not Ballard.  And I agree on the wide receiver thing, but rivers did more with less the previous year.

ballard isn’t perfect but he’s not the problem.

Worst O in the league, and worst QB (passer rating) in the league put up a 112ish passer rating.

Reich has good head coach attributes, but it's safe to say his situational play calling & overall play calling is terrible. Season on the line on 4th and short, bunch the formation and run right into the middle...wth?

There is simply not much for Reich and Wentz to work with.   Calling different offensive and defensive plays is simply akin to rearranging the chairs on the titanic.

Especially when the Oline is overrated, and its rating achieved in past years, obviously, by the presence of Anthony Castonzo.

An LT important?  Go figure.

Lots of capital spent on pass rushers with no pass rush to show for it.  And a lot of capital spent on safeties and not much on corners.

ballard let the coach pick the qb, it was ballards job to land a good qb

What does Marcus Brady do?

Does he even coach the QBs, or does that fall on Reich too?  If Reich is the QB coach, OC playcaller, and HC, that's a lot on his plate.

You lost me on not blaming the D.

No clue who does what, but Reich can't be the play caller next season. I agree though I'd love to know how responsibilities are handed out.

Just a disappointing end to the season.

    • I have no idea how it will all shake out, but I have my popcorn ready.
    • There are no owners in the NFL that are perfect people. Some owner's demons are more public, some not so much, but they all have them. There's much more to the free agency issue and the Colts than most are aware of. There are a lot of intangibles most will never consider. That said, there is more to almost every aspect of any organization that most will ever be aware of. Those are often the things that matter most.
    • You can't measure what is "right" in a vacuum, or just by "feel". It takes so much more than that. The Colts front office performance is judged in relationship with all the other teams in the NFL. Just trying to objectively align the different perspectives of the scouting and coaching staff requires more sophisticated evaluation methods than what we saw in the video.   It doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling, but I understand this is the way a lot of organizations work.
    • https://www.stampedeblue.com/2024/4/1/24118330/i-pity-the-fool-mock-draft     Trade Colts 2nd round (440)   For   Packers pick 58 and 91 (456)   Packers select Zach Frazier C West Virginia 6'2 314lbs Logic: Packers replace Jon Meyers who gave up 5 sacks and had a pff grade of 55.8   Colts trade pick 58 and Kwity Paye   For   Saints Marshon Lattimore CB 27 years old and a conditional 2025 4th (depending on snaps could be 3rd) From Over the cap The team trading for Lattimore would take on his contract as is. They would have the decision to either pick up the option to defer the cap charges or to simply take all of the hit in 2024. Here is the cost on the cap if the team picks up the option in the contract:   Year Salary Cap Charge Dead Money 2024 $15,000,000 $12,000,000 2025 $18,000,000 $0 2026 $18,500,000 $0 2027 (void) $0 $0 Lattimore has no guaranteed money in his contract after 2024 so there is nothing that would lock a team into him beyond this year. Colts Logic: We wanted some experience in the secondary. We wanted a shutdown corner. So we give the Saints a offer they can not refuse. In the first 2 rounds we address most of our defensive woes. Saints Logic: Saints are switching to a 4-3 defense this year and just let Michael Thomas walk. They have always been cap wizards but this may be the year to start a new with the changes listed above. Lattimore has only played 17 games these past two seasons and even though he's a top 12 CB when healthy he has been dinged up. Kwity Paye can start at DE until Chase Young is healthy.
    • Ballard should have never cut him. I want Ogletree on the team as well considering charges were dropped (I believe), but his whole fiasco with his fiance where battery might have been involved was way more of a sensitive topic and understandable of being cut for than Rodgers friend betting 1k on his account on a Colts run stat over/under. That's the worse thing Rodgers was found guilty of, and now we have Colts fans trying to convince themselves we need a RD1 CB pick after 3 were chosen in last year's draft...    He did a podcast detailing what he bet on with Franklin and Speed in case others haven't seen it. Much ado about nothing imho and it's obvious the locker room still like him/didn't think he was negatively trying to affect the outcome of games, and they would know best on that over anyone.
