Yeah I am an IUPUI Grad, Sage got her degree from IU and is local - she loves the Colts. Having said that I don't even factor that in to why I like Sage better than Kimes. Sage is just straight forward with her opinions and I agree with her takes more than I do Kimes. Suzy is the best out of 3, her football knowledge is better than most, I really respect her opinion. I loved Mike Golic, Mike and Mike was the best show in ESPN history, when they did away with that I haven't watched near as much. Disney has ruined ESPN and if you disagree with their politics you will get fired from ESPN like Skip, Cowherd, and Golic did. Rachel Nicholls almost did, they removed her from doing the NBA.

Yup. ESPN has gone to hell. A lot of places have. If I want politics, I'll turn on a news channel.

Susy just has a very long time in the NFL space. Sage is not really an NFL person. Kimes is more Xs and Os than both though. Me disagreeing with who her fav is, or on particular topics has no bearing on how I view her. She can talk smack more than most girls in the field. Give her more experience, and she'll be one of the good ones IMO. She's still young. Sage and Suzy have 15ish or more years on her.

Maybe @PRnum1 can speak more on this, i wasnt in san diego at the time but IIRC Reich was more the fall guy for a bad season. His offense had drop issues, a lot of injuries, and just about everything that could go wrong went wrong when he was fired.

I think I mentioned this in the other Frank thread but Frank was fired because the plays he called lacked offensive balance and he went way too pass happy.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2604969-frank-reich-fired-as-chargers-oc-latest-comments-and-reaction

In the grid in the article, his rushing offense is 30th and 31st in the league in 2014 and 2015.

He had a young Melvin Gordon as his back.

Chargers went 4-12 in 2015 when Reich was fired.

They have a great DE (Greenard), but not much more. Poor running teams might have trouble with them. It was TN's first game I think without Henry IIRC. Maybe second? Had Henry been there and healthy, I think TN would have rolled.

And yes, Tannehill is not a centerpiece. He's a complimentary piece. Very good when he has a capable RB.

Yeah not much talent, but Lovie Smith has them playing hard.

Kimes hit that one 100%, she said Buffalo isn't built for the outdoors and NE is. We are too actually and we are a dome team haha

I like Kimes, but the outdoors narrative is a bit overblown. NE broke one large run for 64 yards early in the game. Other than that, BUF held them to 3.4 yds/carry.

And BUF still likely wins that game if Bass's chip shot doesn't slice 20 feet due to wind. BUF had the ball at the end and drove down to the RZ and could have just kicked the FG to win. That was the actual difference in the game...a missed fg...and no team is built to kick FGs in extreme wind.

They will play again in two weeks. If there isn't extreme wind, I bet BUF wins by 7+.

In the Reich era, I think the Colts have only played a handful of "cold outdoor" games. The snow game in KC, and the PIT and BUF games last year. Can't really think of any other because most of the time it's been home games and divisional opponents (one of which plays in a dome and the other in JAC).

But I also don't mind the dome team moniker. This is a passing league now...and the teams that advance in the playoffs do so because of their QB and passing game. If you can run the ball, that certainly helps. But there are going to be games where you need to play like a dome team.

I'm not sure it's overblown given the situation last night. BB played a cold weather game on a cold weather night. His time management and ball control, which led to Buffalo with the wind in their face in key moments, was pretty brilliant. Buffalo is a throwing team, and that simply doesn't work well with rain and wind blowing sideways. Allen did make a few nice throws into the wind though, but not enough.

And the "built for cold weather" is more about the trenches on both sides, and being able to run the ball and stop the run. NE was already good at pass D. And NE beat the Bills in Buffalo... that's a nice win regardless of how ugly it was.

Overall, I'll take NE next meeting, in NE. And unless it's 20mph wind again, I expect a different game plan from BB. He'll still run heavy at the Bills (like all teams should if we're honest), but doubt he'll be as shy with Jones. Just BB being BB.

Well I bad mouthed her so I felt bad  so I thought I would give her credit for that comment lmao

Good man. Some aren't as gracious....

There were several that picked the Bills. BTW, both females (including Laura Rutledge) picked NE, and were correct lol...

Rutledge is actually in 2nd place out of the 10 weekly pickers. Bowen in first.

Bills are soft and struggle versus physical teams.

    • Idk?   I think Ballard has a lot more control on how this is disseminated than you are giving him. I'm sure he has final approval, this isn't like the in season NFL hard knock thing.(Which we still controlled what was put out there) This is a team made draft video to get fans hyped.     It did the job for me     I do agree that, that was just a random comment about a guy(being there at #15) they were actually generally talking about in natural conversations and the sound bite was used there. I don't think it was just a comment made to place at the end intentionally. Whether that guy might be there, or is someone who should no doubt be there is the question, and what should we take from it ending that way    And it might not of even been his idea to put that at the end, but when presented how to end it, agreed this is the best way to get the fans talking about it.     Either way it was a great cliff hanger. Like I said it brought about some conversation, so I think it did it's part.
    • I watched the semi final game between Washington and Texas last night and Odunze and Polk just destroyed Texas. Penix had around 400 yards.
    • I’ll have to search for Hicks’ break-down.  I hadn’t seen much tape of Bowers until a couple of weeks ago when I watched a highlight reel, and that was very impressive.  I’m just nervous about how hard it seems to be to predict TE success…
    • I was thinking a bit about what Ballard said in that clip from "Behind the Colts", about "he's not going to get much bigger". No idea if he was talking about Worthy... but if he is... he's right. Whether Worthy ends up playing at 165 or 176... this is still extremely small and light. Whether he's in the 1st percentile or 5th percentile of athlete's in weight in the league, this doesn't change the type of player and type of worries you would have about him with any significance. So... in a way, I kind of find that conversation a bit pointless. IMO the question should be - okay. he is small... and he will always be small. Can we work with that? And can we live with the risk of injury for that small of a player? And the answer can be no here... I'm not saying we necessarily need to take that risk.
    • You think the Ed Dodds you see in edited clips here is the same as the Ed Dodds who interviews with teams?   I don’t know you or anyone would think that?      He’s very much respected around the NFL which is why multiple teams ask to interview with them most every year.
