Does this team make any trades before deadline?

I can see Mack traded to the Dolphins for Parker straight up, or to the Rams for Jackson straight up. Howard could be traded, but the Phines would have to take Rhodes for cap space issues, maybe make a Turay, Mack and Rhodes for Howard and Parker trade..

But, in reality, we won't do anything..

This is a HUGE red flag.

Jackson is back on the West Coast where he wanted to be….   And he’s not happy.

Jackson is on a Super Bowl contender….   And he’s not happy.

He’s forcing his way off the best team he could be on.

We spread the ball around to all possible targets, he’d NEVER be happy with the Colts.

If you’re on the right team and you’re still not happy avoid players like that.

I agree with everything you are saying however there might be a caveat here and it's the "what if he really wants to actually be playing" idea? I know that it's weird coming from a player who has at times been labeled as selfish or problematic however what if he gets traded to Green Bay? GB is a SB contender, Jackson has dealt with cold weather before, i.e. in Philly, and they could really use him so I see him actually being a real part of the game plan there. It wouldn't be such and bad deal if that happens imho

You make a good point.   I think.

But let me ask….   Are you saying the Colts should trade for him?    Or are you simply saying a SB contender like GB should?    Just trying to make sure I understand you.

GB should trade for him. I personally am not wanting DJax in Indy.

I’m hoping for Kyle Fuller at the deadline.  He has lost his starting spot.  I could see them being interested in Turay.

Take your blue goggles off Turay has played 29 games and missed 26 with 8 sacks. I dont think anyone is really looking at him. Unless Ballard is packaging him with someone more appealing or a pick.

I've seen all kinds of articles (some really bad) saying we have guys we should move. One suggesting we move Rhodes (wut?)... I know it's a down year, but it's because of health. Our DBs can't afford to lose him.

I've seen suggestions about Banogu and Turay. I'd be fine with Banogu, but still think we need Turay. He's the only true PRS (pass rush specialist) we have. Sure he's missed games, but he's still a good depth piece when healthy. Not having him would hurt if we do go on a run, and make the playoffs.

Mack leaving would be fine. But I don't think a 6th or 7th is worth giving him up. He'd be much needed if Taylor got dinged up for a game or two.

We do need a FS big time. we might be able to get along vs some teams, but our backend is ripe for getting burnt without a true FS. It's clearly the biggest need we have right now.

Nothing about that proposed trade is reality.

Folks are neglecting to factor in the Colts available CAP and players contracts on the other team, who they are suggesting to trade for. Parker,Howard and Fuller wouldn’t fit without more juggling on the Colts side. Not happening.

How do you expect to get a prime Howard for an aging beat up Rhodes, what kinda candy you got lol?

I think a CB or WR that would actually make a difference is not going to be able to be fit under the cap

Its too tight

We are getting healthy at CB. Not great, but good enough

There are 1 or 2 FS that I think we need to consider if they are somehow available for a trade

If we lose today.... just let it play out, we will get a FS in the offseason

If we win, and are in the thick of the playoff chase..... to me...... you HAVE to step up the FS position.... or.... We are completely wasting a shot

There are creative ways to resign a traded player with bonus money that counts toward the future (Many teams do this today)

Turay is mentioned again as a trade possibility. Also mentions oline.

Unless someone offered crazy value, I think we keep Turay, for now

I think Mack is probably the biggest name, but what is he worth?  A 5th at best?

With the team still being in the playoff hunt no way would I trade Turay. We just hope he can give us a little pass rush down the stretch. He is more valuable to the team then a late round pick. Unless they can get a player for him.

I agree.  For some reason Turay seems to have the most interest lately.  I would only move him for a player.  If we win I think we will make a move for a player.  If we lose I think it’s anybody’s guess.  Ballard always preaches a trade has to be good for both teams.  So we will see soon enough.

I dont see any trades......  This loss puts us too far back to get a playoff spot

Ride it our, start again next year

We have some cap to play with to bring in a player or two

Agree.  If you want to move Mack and make him happy okay.  Other than that Ride it out.

Ballard should be getting rid of roster players who continually and repeatedly spend more time in the training room than the playing field. If he has a descent trade for Turay he should make it. If he has a move for a long in the tooth veteran like Doyle - he should make it. We need too much help at WR and CB/WS, and are w/o a 1st round draft pick.

If he had a decent offer for Turay he would trade him.  Putting a guy on the block doesn’t equal good offers.

Sorry, but how do you know this? You don’t think the team is stubborn and sticks with some players too long. Ben Banogu is still on the roster. Seems like when the Colts do Whiff on a player they have a tough time admitting it.

I didn’t say I did know it but if he wanted to trade him and had a decent offer it doesn’t take a genius to figure out he would.  Also, an often injured end that has been relatively ineffective in pass rush just isn’t going to be high in demand.

That’s not what the sportswriters are saying.  He’s in the final year of his contract and the remaining portion of this year’s salary is well under a million.  They think a contender would be interested in him as a rotational ER for that low salary.

Yes but it’s not going to bring you something of significant value.

The point was merely that I felt we needed to be more active than just the draft, and that the team was stubborn about making a move with players that they have drafted. It was about being more open to other ways to build the roster beyond the deep discount bin. The comment was also made with the understanding we would not just give players away for nothing, that was never the point.
