I wasnt sure what they ran for Hargrave. That is surprising.

And the pressure that I agree on, he needs to up that,

And I mean our DEF hasnt been too good, so maybe 3T is the Key, once he is going they will too. Didnt he have some injury earlier this year though?

And ya our ends need to get something going

I think our scheme overall is soft on the back, and predictable/conservative on the front.

Lots of cushion typically from DBs, and lack of stunts and blitzing. If you just rush 4 all the time, or even drop a DE and rush 3, you're just not going to create havoc.

Pretty clear now that we made a mistake letting both DEs go this year. Both are elsewhere and having better years than all of our DEs. Paye should be good in time, but I didn't like putting everything on his back early. And we all know Dayo wouldn't contribute till late this year at best.

Just zero help from scheme, and IMO bad calls on personnel.

If he did tear his Achilles how in the heck did we get another safety who can’t stay healthy. These are major injuries.

Our defense is about to get even worse. To tell you the truth I am just ready for it to be next season. Blackmon would of said he is fine if it wasn’t true. He has done that in the past when he was on the injury report.

Kenny is now sharing a picture of him and Blackmon on his IG stories. It is looking like it is true. I hope Sandeyo or whatever his name is lol can hold up.

None are true FS material.

Sendejo might be able to handle it temporary. I'd rather have him than Odum back there.

If true, we'll need to covert a CB or pick up a true FS FA.

Maybe we can trade a player to Philly for Chachere lol

We are screwed. Doesn’t matter at this point. I do think Sendejo has played ok. I don’t get wrapped up in FS or SS. A year or so ago I remember a colts media guy saying with the what the colts do they don’t really look at it as two different positions. They want safeties that can kind of do anything.

Well I hate to tell you, but that take is either an awful one, or simply not reality.

Colts play mostly C3 in base. And you need a guy who has FS skills in C3. It's not as demanding as C1, but still it's center field. And the guys we have like Willis, aren't good in general C2, or on verts in general outside the box.

All I remember was the time hooker was struggling or got injured again one of them was talking about how he didn’t fit the scheme because he didn’t like coming up and tackling. It might of been around the time Blackmon was drafted they said this. I just can’t remember who it was. But I remember them saying how colts don’t really look at it as two different positions because they want them to do both. Now the colts could have changed up some schemes since then. I don’t know.

Hooker was a C1 lurker type of FS out of college. He fit well into Pagano's scheme. He played great for us the first two years (17 and 18).

A matter of fact, after the 2017 injury, he graded out 79.1 in 2018 (with Flus as DC) which is much much higher than any of our DBs have graded this year.

In 18 we started to play more C2, and Hooker still played well. Even more C2 in 2019 and Hooker still played well. Not as well as 2018, but still graded as high as any of our DBs this year. In 2020, seems we started playing more C3, which would have fit Hooker better than C2.

Whoever said that missed the boat. If anything, you need two safeties that are coverage capable in C2, not just one. And we don't have any that are good in coverage.

Looks like @Wentzszn called it out 2 months with a broken foot. At least it’s not an Achilles injury and he could still return this year.

Colts will have to make the playoffs before they allow him to come back. If they aren’t in playoff position no way they will let him come back for a 2 games.

SF Injuries. We will see if Williams can go.

Looks like we will be calling up the two players we just signed to the practice squad.

We better pray really hard. Sedeyo still wearing the blue jersey and still being limited isn’t good either. We going to be down to Moord  and Rodgers and no one in the slot. Maybe it’s a good thing it’s going to be a monsoon. That could help with all the injuries.

Edit I forgot about little Bo peep. Lmao

    • No.   You weren’t.   If you were the least bit sincere, we’d be having these conversations in private.  But you’ve repeatedly ignored my efforts to do that.  Your call.      Then you avoid me until I’m in an uncomfortable conversation with another poster.   You use that awkward moment as an excuse for you to come in with some sincere friendly advice.   The problem is, you’re neither sincere, nor friendly.  And you’ve been doing this for months now.  This is not new.   The pattern is clear and obvious.     And the shame of it all is that even with our different views on Ballard we have enough in common that we should be friendly.  Maybe not friends, but friendly.  You wouldn’t need to address me as “Sir.”    “Good deed going unpunished”.  You flatter yourself.     But your actions speak much louder than your words.   There’s no reason for me to trust you.  And here we are.  A real shame.
    • In a year when the Colts were in serious need of a QB and in position to draft one, Ballard came up in front of the media 3 days before the draft and straight up said something to the effect of "That guy everybody in media is talking about(Levis), we are not taking him". I don't know why you think the Colts are trying to throw us off the scent this year specifically. They are not trying to give us away the pick(thus the vagueness), but I also don't really think they are trying to mislead anybody. This usually becomes specifically apparent in retrospect after the draft when you look back at a lot of those quotes in the videos they release pre-draft... and they were talking precisely about players we ended up drafting, which they reveal in the post-draft video by extending some of those quotes(they did that with AR last year for example).    And about why people are doing it(guessing who they are talking about) - because it is fun. Nobody has the illusion that we will be right in our guesses 100% of the time... or anywhere close really... but it's still fun. And it's part of why the Colts release those videos with those quotes - to create engagement with the fanbase... part of which, and the entirety of which that 70 pages thread and whole board is about in the offseason. is to guess who the Colts might take and how they might feel about specific prospects.
    • Sir, I was just trying to help you out. No good deed goes unpunished!
    • Not the least bit surprised to hear from you at this moment.   You see me in an uncomfortable conversation (with a moderator no less) and you seize the moment to take a shot at me.  And you try to act like you’re giving me a sincere explanation of what you’re doing.   Like you have an ounce of credibility with me.      This is not the first time you’ve done this.  While I may not be surprised, I’m certainly disappointed.
