I didn't know about the possible Cavs pick.   I just googled it.  Are you sure that wasn't for last season?

Yeah so the Cavs pick is protected. (lottery protected I believe) If the Cavs made the playoffs this past season the Pacers would have received their 1st. If they make the playoffs next season they will receive it. If the Cavs miss the playoffs again then the Pacers will receive two 2nd round picks.

Tony East doesn't mention the protections on the Cavs pick (I could have those details wrong) but he does mention the Pacers have their pick next year.

They seems to be in a good position to make themselves a perennial playoff team.   Unfortunately in the NBA draft picks are usually only franchise changing if they are top 8 picks.

Brogdon was a huge disappointment here IMO. He has a lot of talent but there was also a reason why the Bucks traded him to us a few years ago. Reason being, he can't stay healthy. He also shrinks in the big moments. If Durant goes to Miami, Miami along with the Bucks with Middleton healthy will be the 2 best teams in the East.

Hey Boston, how's defeat taste Steph Curry Basketball GIF by NBA. Hell, if the Warriors win it again that will be 5 in 9 seasons = 2015, 17, 18, 22, and 23. That would match the 80's Showtime Lakers = 1980, 82, 85, 87, and 88. That is elite company. Only the 90's Bulls with 6 in 8 seasons would be better than that, Championships/seasons. Bulls = 1991-1993 (3Peat), 1996-1998 (3Peat). I am talking post merger -1977 to now

I called CBS earlier and was on air. Talked to a good guy. I told him LeBron is on my MT Rushmore but wasn't better than Jordan or Magic. Kareem is my other guy on my final 4. Magic 5-4! and Finals MVP as a rookie, it will never be done again. We debated a little but I said 5-4 and Magic at his peak was simply better. Better leader as well and didn't switch teams to get rings. LeBron will have better the stats because of longevity but he wasn't better than Magic The Simpsons GIF by KiwiGo (KGO)Los Angeles Sport GIF by North Coast Authentic- good night Boston in 1987.

Unless Phoenix matches, we’ve got Ayton. This is gonna be a good season.

I'll be surprised if the Suns don't match.

Until Ayton actually signs the offer sheet a sign and trade can still be worked out. Phoenix must be wanting a lot for him though otherwise they would have agreed on that awhile ago.

Reports came out about 30 minutes after the news that he signed our offer broke that they intended to match and didn’t have any plans for a sign and trade.

Pacers have waived three players to make room for him. So something is still going on.

I mean everyone they waived were going to be waived regardless.

Phoenix has officially matched. I knew it was too good to be true. :tvsmash:

I went into offseason hoping for Ayton and Miles(he burned that Bridge though).

Would of been nice to bring in Ayton with our young core, but it isn't the end of the world.

We have a great young team, Mathurin just looks nice, can't wait to see his growth.

We still have a ton of cap space so if we want we can hop in one of these bad salary guys for draft compensation, to add to our (3) 1st rd picks next year, assuming/hoping Cleveland makes the playoffs.

I have always liked Turner, but seems as if that ship has sailed, even more so after the offer sheet to Ayton. So I expect him to be moved before the trade deadline, hopefully he can bring us an additional 1st next year as well.

Good chance at some point, Hield, McConnell and Theis get moved, but I really like how our team of young talent is coming together.

PG: Haliburton, McConnell, Nembhard

SG: Hield, Duarte, Taylor

SF: Mathurin, Nesmith, Brown

PF: Smith, Jackson, Brissett

C: Turner, Goga, Theis

Really was happy to get Smith back, since we were restricted in what we could offer him, I figured he was going to be gone, so that was a pleasant surprise.

I gotta, say that looks like the roster of a 40 win team who misses the playoffs.

Yeah it still needs work, not expecting a championship or even playoffs this season. Just like all the young talent that should grow together. Should be fun to watch.

Miss the playoffs, cool. Win the lottery and get that beast Victor Wembinyamo(sp?).

RIP Bill Russell, dead at the age of 88. He is on the Mt Rushmore of Centers with Kareem, Wilt, and Shaq. Man it seems like a lot of people are passing away this year.

True legend a shame so many younger fans don't realize how great Wilt and Bill really were, Wilt the greatest who ever played the game and no one has numbers close. Russell with 11 titles in 13 season most nba titles and that will never be equaled.

Yeah I never seen either LIVE because I was born in 1971 but have seen film on both, know their stats, Championships won, etc.. They are both in the top 10 of all-time, at least in mine.

1. Michael IMO has to be #1

2. Magic at #2, 6'9 point guard, best PG ever

3. Kareem

4. LeBron

Mt. Rushmore

5-10 is so debatable and I even switch this order up at times:

I could live with:

5. Bird

6. Wilt

7. Kobe

8. Russell

9. Curry - has flat out changed the game, greatest shooter ever.

10. Shaq

Everyone has different lists but those 10 players have really stood out IMO. RIP to BIll Russell is the main topic though, I just wanted to let you know that he and Wilt are in my top 10 without debate.

My opinion changes a lot when it comes to 5-10, as of now I would take Steph over Shaq or Duncan. If I could only have a top 10, Duncan gets left off. I would take Shaq over Duncan all day as far as Big's go. He was just more dominant. Shaq is the only player to win 3 straight Finals MVP's (2000-2002) other than Jordan. I flip flop on Bird and Kobe a lot too. Just too tough to call in reality.
