I want to see Sam get some reps. I wonder what we have in him

Agreed. Ehlinger was a really good player in college on a not so good Texas team. He doesn’t have the strongest arm and he’s not the most accurate of QBs. He does find ways to make plays, though. I feel he excels when the game is on the line, too. He thrives in the pressure.

God bless you guys for still having interest after the Wentz injury. I'm just laughing at this point. Our luck is so terrible injury-wise it isn't even funny. I guess go Eason and Sam today and see what they have? Can't wait to see what happens today lol.

Eason is getting his chance to show the team what he can do.  That he's not just another empty jersey sitting on the bench.

I hope he does well.

I hope we get to hear from him today.

Not to be that guy, but you may want to change the year in the title, lol, please don't make me any older, lol

They didn’t put a year lol.

I also hope they open things up for Eason today. Let him have some deep shots. He needs to develop some chemistry with the ones.

I feel the same.  It seems they were working on check downs and the defense was working on blitzing yesterday...

Yeah I love how the reporters kept trashing him about not going down field yesterday. That was on purpose and probably would of been doing the same thing had Wentz practiced.

Maybe the interest of other fans depends on more than just the availability of one player?

Gee, i hope they work the most on the quick short game. If you can't do it well you just are not going to win against good teams, good defenses.
Heaving the ball deep 6-8 times a game can happen pretty easily when everything else is working well..

So is Jalen Morton going to get any time to practice today with the offense? I know he seems irrelevent in regards to the starting job when we also have Eason and Sam fighting it out in training camp, but Morton is probably closer to Eason and Sam then Eason and Sam are to Wentz. Just curious.

His "passing traits" aren't too appealing. :D

He's generally accurate in the short game. It's intermediate and deep game that kill him. And some of that might have been the quality of wideouts he had at Texas

He’s one of those guys who’s just a baller.  He “wills” his team to win.  I really enjoyed watching him play his heart out in college.

Of course, in the pros you need more than that.  He’ll probably end up in Canada.

The guy has got a ton of heart. I think the first game he caught my attention was Texas v Oklahoma 2018. Dude and Kyler Murray put on a show, and I think Ehlinger was slightly the better QB on the day. The dude refused to lose that game.

Great opportunity for both Jacob Eason and Sam Erlinger. I have followed Sam all his career and he is a leader. The kid has what you can't teach. Both are very promising and will be on the final roster after what has happened to Wentz. If there was a time to find out what these guys have, this would be it. They will play extensively during the preseason games. Show Time !!!

    • We will see how the season plays out, I think we will lose on Sunday but if we win that game that would be a huge boost. To your comment, I have seen many years where teams have had a huge point differential in the positive and only be 8-8 and then teams that are barely in the negative be 11-5 lol. I'll take a quote from Magic Johnson, after the Lakers beat Boston 107-106 in Game 4 of the 1987 Finals "Doesn't matter if you win by 30 or by 1, as long as you win".   All people in the end care about is winning to have that good record.
    • We just have to get healthy on the OL, and to be frank, a lot better on D....  Seattle's trenches are not that good, yet spanked us on both sides.   At present, we are tied for last in the league.... and we are what our record says we are lol. So the Texans are better than us. And we're on par with Jax... And we have dropping our yearly game to Jax to look for.....   I jest.. of course. But at the same time serious.
    • IDK... Didn't Luck screw up years for us by going to Denver lol... Or was he snow boarding somewhere else.

    • Good Luck to you!    Nothing better than landing on your feet for a fresh start.   Thank you for your service, and hope opportunities are heading your way.   You earned it, you deserve it.
