The Indianapolis Colts made several changes to the football operations staff ahead of the 2021 season, the team announced Monday.

From the team’s announcement, here are some of the notable changes to the football operations staff:

Kevin Rogers has been elevated to the team’s director of player personnel.

Brian Decker was named the director of team development.

John Park has been elevated to director of football research.

Jon Shaw has been elevated to director of pro scouting.

Anthony Coughlan was named an area scout.

Mitch Chester was named the college scouting coordinator/travel coordinator.

Kasia Omilian promoted to scouting assistant.

I’m not sure most of these come with new responsibilities?    I think most are an upgrade in title and likely a pay bump. 
 

And I think most of this is to fight off job offers from other teams who might offer a better title and pay to steal our best and brightest.   
 

I think it’s a smart business move by the Colts.    But I didn’t see much that jumped out at me.   I did like seeing a woman getting an opportunity in our scouting department.   Progress comes slowly but it does come.   Good for her.

Kevin Rogers got a title really close to what Rex Hogan had, prior to leaving in 2019. Hogan was VP of Player Personnel. Rogers goes from being Director of Pro Personnel to Director of Player Personnel. That might expand his duties a bit. But like you said, probably just a title bump and a pay raise, which, good for them.
