Adam Vinatieri Has Officially Retired

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all that you gave Adam to the sport!!! No matter what kicks you missed early on in the game, when it mattered, you made the clutch one. Not many kickers can lead the entire NFL in scoring and say they won a championship with Brady and Manning.

Great HOF career!!! Enjoy retirement!!!

I feel bad for him, in a way. He said he would love to keep going but “the writing was on the wall”.
IMO His two biggest games, as a Colt? The 2006 AFC championship game and the Divisional game against Baltimore, that same year.

And we can’t forget the dude ran down Hershel Walker.

My favorite FA colt signing of all time. Thanks for the memories and enjoy retirement

Can't under state the power struggle at the time between the Pats and Colts and to get Adam was a pretty big deal.

Adam didn't even give the Patriots a chance to match the offer the Colts made.     Not really a power struggle.

Pretty sure he meant the team owning the AFC was a power struggle between the Colts and Pats. Getting AV definitely helped put us over the top after the whole Vanderjagt debacle. Will always remember him in that Baltimore game.

The Colts Pats rivalry/power struggle in the mid 00's isn't defined by the kicker, he's a part of the story though and not a small one.

He is the GOAT, when choosing an all-time team you choose 11 offensive players, 11 defensive players, a Punter, Long Snapper, PR, KR, and a Kicker. He would be my kicker so he makes it.

"Just win baby."

He won 4 SB's so he did.

    • You're right. Everyone is open to criticism. One could say for instance Irsay has done more than his fair share of things that made him an unreliable owner.... and even an embarrassment to the franchise.    It's not if Wentz can handle it, it's just stupid to say in the context of his ankle.... It will cause media distraction, and divide fans. Just totally stupid to say that. It accomplishes absolutely zero. And the click bate media will eat it up. Fun stuff for a QB who dealt with a a bunch of sheet last year, comes here to a clown show OL, gets hurt, and then the owner talks sheet.
    • He also wasn't answering a question about Leonard.
    • I'm almost as afraid of Tannehill tormenting our LBs than Henry lol...   I really don't see us stopping a lot of teams on our schedule with our D. Sure some of the bad Os we'll stop, but there's only a few QBs on our schedule I see as truly "bad". And we know we're perfectly capable of losing to Jax lol....   Right now I only see 5 games I'm truly confident in (bolded below), and my confidence is fading. What are your 11 wins?     @Tennessee @Miami @Baltimore vsHouston @San Francisco vsTennessee vsNew York vsJacksonville @Buffalo vsTampa Bay @Houston 14BYE WEEK vsNew England @Arizona vsLas Vegas @Jacksonville
    • Not really.  Of I'm paying an employee millions, and they make a decision I think takes them down a notch reliability wise, I'd probably feel free to make that statement just like Jim did.  Not being vaxed is a choice, but freedom of choice doesn't mean freedom from all criticism or critique.  I'm sure Wentz can handle it.
    • They also paid Leonard 100 million and he isn’t vaccinated. Not just exclusive to Wentz.
