Can we put Banogu on the practice squad?

He'd have to clear waivers, but yes.

PS changes the last couple of years allow a number of slots (I think maybe 4 this year) for guys with more than 3 years accrued playing years. Basically, you can now stash vets on the PS. It's either 2 or 4, but though it increased to 4 this year.

found this on espn

"The new CBA expanded the size of practice squads from 10 players per team to 12 for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, and to 14 players per team beginning in 2022. However, for 2020 -- and for 2021 if any COVID-19 protocols remain in place for that season) -- practice squads can include up to 16 players per team. Of those 16, as many as six can be players with more than two accrued seasons in the NFL. The new CBA allowed for two practice-squad players per team with an unlimited number of accrued seasons, but the COVID-19 amendments expanded that number to six."

The Davis vs Davis competition is going to be interesting.

I hope Dez makes the team, I’d hate to see MPJ get a new co-star on his YouTube channel.  WR group is always fun to watch in the preseason.

Oline depth looks so much better than last season, on paper at least.

I think you bring up a great point

There will be an intense camp battle for that last WR spot  (I think)

Patmon or Strachan

My intial read is that Patmon would be the lead, but if Strachan shows in Pre season, you never know

I might be higher on Wilkins than most. Near 5 yards a carry. That's a pretty good average.

He also gives it all on special teams

CR1, nice job. I have only a few disagreements/clarifications with the 53.

1. The Colts go with 6 WRs as you suggest, but Harris beats out Dulin.

2. When Fisher comes off IR, Davenport gets the boot. Holden becomes the swing tackle.

3. When Odeyingbo comes off IR, Rochell gets the boot. Also, Woods will be Buckner's backup.

4. The Colts will go with 5 LBs, with either Adams or Franklin getting cut.

5. The Colts will go with 5 safeties, as the rookie Davis makes the 53 man squad for his ST's skills.

I agree with your Practice Squad choices.

Fries over Davenport , Woods over Stallworth (not both) and Stracham (over either Patmon or Dulin) and Glasgow land spots.

Since we are going all in on a SB run I would like to see us bing in another veteran CB like Breeland over Tell or Rogers.   Sign Ertz if released as well.  There might be a chance we could trade MAC or Wilkins for day three picks at cut down depending on injuries.

Rodgers is a player. He's a great returner and when he played , showed some really good coverage skills. He's not getting cut. You don't like MAC as well ?

Yup, total wildcard. I don't think we carry both on the 53. I first thought Patmon was a no-brainer. The more I dig and the more film I watch, I'm starting to lean towards Strachan. Ballard commented on both. Said Patmon had upside on the outside. Said Strachan wasn't near as raw as one would think coming from a small school.

I'm probably totally reading too much into those comments, but they got me thinking. The bag on Patmon was that he didn't play to his size, and needed to improve a lot on route running. The outside comment seemed a bit limiting to me. Like he still isn't playing physical enough to play on the inside. And the only real bag on Strachan was that he would be raw coming from a small school. He was already physical and not horrible at routes. So thinking he might be a bit more well rounded, and more physical than Patmon. Like I said, likely reading too much into it, but it also goes hand and hand with the film.

It's going to be another close/tough decision for what will be RB3 (I count Hines as an APB). Last year it was Wilkins/Williams, this year Wilkins/Jackson. I like Wilkins as he does well late in games, and is patient with his reads. But I also think a lot of RBs will do well late in games behind our OL. From a money side of things, only 300k more for Wilkins, but Wilkins is in a contract year, and I doubt we'll want to pay him much more after this year. Jackson, if near in talent, might be the more attractive long term choice. At the same time, might just keep Wilkins this last year, stash Jackson on the PS, and then move Jackson up next season. Of course you run the risk of waivers though.

I won this contest last year and will be back to defend my crown...lol.   Very close to what I have but have a sleeper no one has on any list I have seen here or elsewhere, could be the key to winning it this year so Ill keep under wrap (Hot Rod put me over the top last year).

What did you win?

I'm guessing your sleeper is Luck coming back.  (BTW, I don't think I'd go with Hot Rod this time)

Just bragging rights for the win......

Nope not Luck, player is currently on 90 man roster and was a fairly high draft pick.

I'm leaning Hot Rod making it again actually, Piniero career long is only 53 so leg strength isnt great which is Hot Rod's knock right now, also his career fg % (55% over 39 yards  compared to over 70% for Blankenship) and pat % lower as well.....not saying Eddy cant unseat him but odds dont favor it at this time. Now someone else being brought in if both struggle in preseason is another thing

I hadn't though about it much, but the LB position isn't robust beyond Darrius.

It'll be a thing at some point, bank on it.

We play so much Nickel, it's not really much of an issue.
