VS Panthers

@ Minnesota

@ Detroit

I always look forward to these games, mainly to see the new guys.  This year it will be first time we see any of the QBs on the roster since … 2012?

As always, getting out of the preseason with no injuries is the first objective.  Winning games is the last (although I’m sure some will still complain is we lose).

So psyched for August!

What no Cincinnati?? We have played them in the preseason the last 100 Years :sarcasm:

A couple years ago it was actually a decent, fun game.  But mostly it was unwatchable.   The NFL did good dumping that fourth game.

The question I have now is this: will the 3rd game become a throwaway game like the 4th was?

I'd like to say no, because there won't be enough time to waste in the preseason now.

3 is the perfect amount of preseason games because some unknowns may really shine in a game or 2 and make the roster. 4 games is too many. I would play the starters in game 2 for a half anyway.

That's my hunch as well, that hopefully nothing really changes for games 1-3, because they've always been entertaining with game 3 as the "dress rehearsal".

I'm just excited to finally see what Eason can do on the field.

Me 2.  But I won't be surprised if Ehlinger becomes the fan favorite.  He'll probably be playing against and with 2nd and 3rd teamers and running for his life.

He'll be the new Swag!

They are ugly.  But still better than the Browns.  Cleveland has an appropriate team name...

Yeah, he's a great kid, and we already support him for his adversity.

I would agree, mostly from what I heard is the week 3 will still be 2 weeks out from the season, not the Thursday before

    • I am still hoping Javy comes back this offseason once he sees his market. He is certainly a guy I could see. KB, will be interesting to see his case study, he really loved being a Cub, and when they come to Wrigley in Sept, he needs that major ovation. He has said he would comeback to Chicago, same with Javy. Rizzo is the one I do not think will be back as a Cubs player. The other two I think could, especially Javy
    • So what I am hearing is Sam Ehlinger is gonna beat out Eason for the Week 1 start
    • Hypothetically lets say Eason has to be our starter. Look I don't know much about Eason regarding him being able to play at the NFL Level, nobody does. So he is impossible to rank or say things like he will be bad or good. We can only form opinions for now. Having said that does anyone think he can even be better than Brissett, just asking? You seen how this forum ripped Brissett apart and he was average as a starter, he didn't stink. He even had a couple of great games as a starter and was 7-7. If Eason starts and plays bad for 2 or 3 games I see this forum doing this
    • That is not what I was seeing.  He was late with the ball several times.  He missed finding the open receivers.  He held the ball too long.  Ball placement is not something he has figured out at this level.  I think the games is still way to fast for him right now.   We are in serious trouble if we have to rely on him.  Hopefully he improves a lot this preseason.
    • I saw that today and it was not pretty.  Eason has a long ways to go.  I think he is several years away from being a backup.
