This has been a lot of fun. Definitely more challenging than the mock draft simulations I played around with to prepare a little for this.  Here is what week 1 looked like for Washington.

Should Bproland's pick drop down to mini-break time? Then PRnum can get his guy.

Not a fan of guys coming in the NFL with character issues. What did this guy do?

There was this WR who was drafted by Philly back in 2015 or 2016 -- Green Becham or something like that. He was considered a great prospect. But he had too many issues. I don't know if he played much.

I like to give everyone a 2nd chance unless it's totally horrible, or they don't "get it" now.

So long as they show remorse and ace the interviews, I'm good with giving them a shot mid rounds or later. I think it's good they drop though.

Here's his history from NFL.com

"Ball was a four-star recruit at Stafford High School in Virginia before signing with Florida State in the 2016 class. As a redshirt freshman in 2017, he started the final nine games at right tackle. He was suspended in May 2018 by FSU for dating violence, and he eventually left the team to play at Butler Community College that fall. Ball moved on to Marshall for 2019, starting one game at right tackle in 13 appearances. The 2020 first-team All-Conference USA selection started eight games at left tackle, though he was ejected from the Conference USA Championship Game against UAB for incurring two personal foul penalties. He did not play in the team's bowl game, opting to prepare for the NFL draft. -- by Chad Reuter"

Defjamz26's avatar honors Gavin, the person that the Annual Colts Mock Drafts are named after. @twfish has the same avatar. I believe it was @HOZER that created it. We are a big family.

spittin' knowledge and educating the newer posters!

Yup, I still remember the day I heard the news. I honestly am still incredibly shocked how taken back I was at the news, not that the two of us were super close even though we did interact a ton. It was more so the realization of the impact a internet community can have on you. I don't believe I know a single one of you in real life but it often times feels like I do. I've been on this forum for a very long time, don't know anyone's real name, don't really know what anyone looks like (aside from the ones whose avatar pictures are of themselves), don't know the age, race or gender. However I feel we are just one big happy family that loves to bicker about a common interest.

Thanks...they needed a little insurance behind All Pro Brandon Schherff as they have not resigned him as of yet. Building up the trenches in DC with Teven Jenkins also added in the 1st round.  Their defensive side of the ball is already pretty nasty.

some see him moving inside, but IMO he'll be better at T.

    • Talked to Mr. Irsay a few times during camp. Always laid back and like a regular Joe. During camp in THaute they always reserved a room in one of the residence halls for him in case he stayed over. Never did, but I do know he made sure a nice tip was left for the housekeeping staff who would fix up a room that was never used.
    • Guess he was signed for ST. Doubt he'd compete for one of the lb jobs
    • I think Ballard is making it a 3 way competition between Patmon, Strachan, and the other undrafted guy from USC to see which one offers the most. Thats how im reading the tea leaves. Its interesting he has 3 big bodies to compete for the Alshon Jeffrey role.
    • I'm not sure I agree on the qb takes just based on how Ballard likes to form a roster. He'd rather draft a young guy with the traits he wants, competitor, winner, team player, someone who can grow into our organisation and groom them into our way of doing things rather signing someone at age 30+ and coming in just collecting a check. So I'm not sold Eason was picked to take over at any point, rather a guy who can be a solid backup, knowing the offense from the beginning and at some point might have a shot at being more than that.We all know how important a good backup is at qb, so whether 2nd round or 4-5th round it's never a wasted pick. Same with SE, he is here to push the guys, especially Wentz to be better and maybe become something else if he can.    I think this draft, seeing how different draft boards were all over the league, with covid and lack of personal touch with players, information about injuries etc., we just wanted guys who strengthen the core and integrity of our organisation with their drive, attitude and with a unique set of skills.    End of the day, it's an interesting direction and philosophy Ballard has brought to our team and I personally value this front office approach as the best I have seen for us,( makes me more engaged too)and that kind of focus on competition and character is what made underrated players like Leonard and Okereke and Willis etc into starters and eventually the faces of our offense/defense. I guess what I am trying to say, and I apologies for the long post, is that a player in our approach might have a significant role even if that said player never takes a snap on the field. if Eason or SE can push Wentz to become the best he can, it's a solid choice imo.
    • I want my guy Houston back. His leadership is a plus out there with all those young boys. Find a way to meet in the middle on his price please!
