Here we go!!!!   With the 26th pick in the draft, the Colts were looking at a few different names. With major needs at LT and DE, the team scoured those positions for prospects.

With the 19th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Washington Football Team selects...   Teven Jenkins, Offensive Tackle from Oklahoma State.    @EastStreet and the Chicago Bears are on th

I'm selecting someone for the Titans that is a great scheme fit, a guy who should provide great pass rush, and was an absolute beast in Georgia. I don't want him on the Colts because of scheme fit, bu

Sorry y’all I completely forgot y’all are eastern time. I live in Nashville and am central.

That is why I wrote in the Big Board/Draft Order thread  that all times are Eastern.

That's okay. Glad you're with us now.

@luv_pony_express Please get me a QB before this draft is over, even if he is backup material. Maybe my guy Mills from Stanford.

I think Mills could be the sixth QB taken in the draft for real on the 29th. May even go in the 1st round. Don't expect it here though in this mock on the forum.

I like JOK better, Zaven Collins better, Baron Browning better, and maybe even Nick Bolton better. I would avoid Parsons if he fell to 21 to the Colts honestly.

There's some great value in LBs this year. If we didn't have big needs at DE and LT, I would be tempted to grab a LB in the 2nd.

Giants fans are going to love me.

Giants 17th pick - Ja'Marr Chase

Not so fast :-)

I still have to do make up picks for two teams (Eagles and Pats).

Don't be surprised if we grab Baron Browning with our 2nd round pick. He's a perfect fit for the Colts. I'd especially take him if we traded down from 21 and managed to get a 3rd round pick.

Yeah, I saw what happened with Jeff Gladney. You guys are hurting at CB. The two biggest threats to the Vikings taking Surtain are obviously the Broncos and the Cowboys. The Eagles may go after a CB too at 12. It'll be a tough fall. Maybe you get lucky though.

Yeah. Terrible. I have not really followed it; so, I don't know if he was cut. I just like Surtain.

The CB I liked last year was Jaylon Johnson. I like smart players. He was a smart player. And he played well for the Bears. I drafted him in the Gavin Mock Draft last year. My first three picks last year were

1) Tee Higgins, WR (I should have drafted JJ instead. At least it happened in the real draft :) )

2) Antonio Winfield II, safety

3) Jaylon Johnson, CB

You definitely hit on those guys in their rookie years! Nice job! Jaylon was a big favorite of mine as well.

    • 2002 was 19 years ago. Alot also depends on the extent and location of the tear.
    • Darn, I hate to be 'that guy' and rain on peoples parades.  But there's history and quantifiable numbers about this.   "Dr. Parekh performed a study and measure of functional outcome in the evaluation of “skill players” in the NFL, which included defensive tackles, cornerbacks, linebackers, wide receivers, and running backs.3 The power rating is a measure of a player’s performance using statistics gathered during game play, such as passing and rushing yards for an offensive player and tackles and interceptions for a defensive player. This study showed that 31 acute Achilles tendon ruptures occurred in NFL players between 1997 and 2002. The average age of a player sustaining a rupture was 29, with an average career before injury spanning six years."   "Of the 31 players who sustained an Achilles tendon rupture, 21 (64%) returned to play in the NFL at an average of 11 months after injury. In the three seasons following their return, those 21 players saw significant decreases in games played and power ratings compared to the three seasons preceding the injury."   "The percentage of players returning to play at the NFL level is consistent with a meta-analysis performed by Bhandari4 in 2002. The authors reported return to function rates of 63% for patients treated nonoperatively and 71% for those treated operatively. If we assume that all the NFL players were treated operatively, as would be the standard for young athletes, the return to play rate of 64% is slightly lower than the 71% reported in the meta-analysis. This difference could be attributed to the excessive demands placed on the operatively repaired Achilles tendon in NFL players combined with a body size, strength, and explosiveness that would further increase these demands."   You will hear people say recovery is 4-6 months.  The issue is here (especially with elite athletes) there's a big difference between being 'cleared for full activity' and being in 'football condition' and play in an NFL game.   And when they do play (and at times, if), it is at areduced skill level.     The Colts Doctor and medical team will also play a big role in any decision by CB / Irsay here, based upon Fisher's full medical evaluation and his progress and prognosis. It's not just about contract negotiations here.
    • Looked at more tape.  If MAC used his hands more he'd be pro bowl type of player.  That is the problem with him I'll be you dollars to donuts.  That's why you don't see him featured more.
    • I understand.   I’m just saying what I think the Colts have publicly said.   Whether it works out that way or not,  I don’t know.     Guess we won’t know until camp at the earliest or maybe even pre-season.   If it’s not Granson, who do you think it would be?
    • Hell of a catch and the exact type of play on that one down by the goal line.  Just watching this tape of this awesome game though, he's a body catcher primarily.  That's what caused the INT on the other goal line play.  I'm guessing he doesn't do well enough in practice on bringing those type of catches in that involve the hands.     If not, wth are we doing?  WTH aren't there 30 other teams beating our door down?
