PFF Mock Draft with Tradedown

The Bills were desperate to draft some one at 21 to trade me 3 current picks and a 2nd next year to replenish the trade for Wentz.

 

Now I have 8 picks this year to work with and to my astonishment Paye was available at 30 for some reason. 

 

You can follow the rest from there, but I doubled down on CB's and move TE's plus picked up the extremely versatile SS in Stevens who can cover TE's and allow us to play with 3 true safeties in Dime more this year.

 

Schwartz can take the roof off of any defense and would help clear up underneath passing lanes. 

 

I chose D'Ante Smith as the LT because of his current ability (had a pretty dominant Senior Bowl week) and his untapped potential once he adds NFL strength. You can't teach length and you can't teach his nimble feet. He could start right away next to Q just as well as anyone else.

 

Obviously I 'mock' drafted this, but I'd be happy with this haul!

It would be a miracle if Ballard traded down and still got Paye at 30. Hes projected top 15.

I know right. That is the funny thing with these mock draft simulators. I've had Patrick Surtain fall to 21 as well before......

Depending on who he is we (aka Ballard and Company) may not trade back at all......now THAT would be interesting.

I saw they aren't at Darrisaw pro day so he probably isn't an option even if he falls

I really only like the Newsome and Adebo picks. I don't think we need both players though. I'm not a Kwity Paye fan and D'Ante Smith was a reach pick to me. 

 

We need a talented WR and better quality LT brought in as well.

This is one of the best mocks I’ve seen. If somehow Ballard can draft both Greg Newsome and Paulson Adebo

Nice job! I would like it even more if they could bring in an experienced starting LT to give Smith a year to develop physically in an NFL program. I think that would be the ideal scenario.

The mock fills some holes

 

I do think Paye is a viable option

 

Someone like Paye could fill the DE on run downs, and DT on passing downs role.

 

I wouldnt play around on the 2nd pick with a CB (Unless we have made a trade for a LT)

 

Our CBs played bad, because we had almost no pass rush in some of the games.

 

At the 2nd spot, I would draft the best LT on the board.......
